A great king-cat laid out on some of the sunning boulders to the south side of Pride Rock. His coat almost pristine white, marked with gold here and there, the feline didn't seem willing to rouse even when a butterfly made perch on one of his ears. Lazily he flicked it, sending the small insect away in a fright.

After raising three sons, Jing thought that maybe the questions would have abated at least a little bit, and if not the question then surely the ache. He still missed her fiercely though. His family was "falling apart" so to say, and he didn't know what to do with himself anymore. No longer the pillar of support, but left to stand in the Pridelands all the same, it was a lonely fate even for one surrounded by so many.

He'd never understood how one could feel alone in a crowd before now.

His beloved little sister had already birthed a grown litter of her own, had a mate... his beloved mother and her youngest daughters set out with his cousin to find her birth pride... Ai had a family of his own, their father, he hadn't seen in ages, not since the second litter was born... No was ruling the Firekin by now, or leading, rather than ruling, he supposed, with her "friend", and it seemed like except for he and Choa, everyone had found something to do with their lives but him! No, scratch that too, even Choa had run off for adventures of her own.

"How about to start you get off your -a**- and stop moping?"

That was his cousin's helpful advice, but it was easier said than done, and he'd tried. It seemed as if ever since he'd let go of his title as the lord of the South House things had been spiraling downward, with the only high point being the birth of his three sons, befriending the lovely Asali.

Jing'fei felt pathetic, a shadow of who he used to be. These lands were a shadow of what they used to be. With Mufasa gone...

One white paw came over to fall heavily over his closed eyes, as if wishing to block out the very sun trying to encourage him into getting up as well. Why did everyone want to push him to do this and that, didn't anyone understand that it wasn't activity that was the problem, but loss of direction?
