Sunlight filtered through gaps in the vines overhead, dancing across the closed eyelids of sleeping cats. Dhiren roused slowly, squinting against the light and attempting to roll over. His bed was soft, welcoming, and not lumpy. ...
That wasn't right.
Cracking open bleary amber eyes, the tom blinked a few times and looked around with groggy confusion. Leafy green foliage met his vision on all sides of him; he was under some overgrown structure. He laid, staring up at the vines above him for a few moments more as his brain woke up the rest of the way.
It was late.... right? Afternoon...ish.. Where was he? Something seemed a little... heavy...
He flicked his ears against the leaves they were resting against as he realized that there was something weighing down his chest and arm. As his eyes trailed down to investigate, he suddenly recalled why he was where he was, and relaxed. The female still sleeping against him looked peaceful and more beautiful now than she had before to him. His arm was pinned beneath her, curled around her lithe frame and holding her securely. With his free hand, he carefully brushed her tousled hair from her face and grinned to himself. His jacket, which he remembered vaguely throwing across her shoulders the night before, had been discarded sometime during the night and lay just off to the side of them.
His heart thumped a little harder as he watched her, still unused to being so comfortable with another; still uncertain about the strange fluttering in his stomach. Again, carefully, the Somali tom tried to get up. Moving slowly, he pushed himself up and gently moved Alice's head from his chest, laying her down on the leafy 'bed' as he slid his arm out from around her. His fur bristled slightly as he did his best not to wake the sleeping woman, and when he had untangled himself, he sat and watched her for a few moments again. The University was becoming active as students milled about between classes, the Somali's ears swiveled towards the muffled sounds they were making. He watched them for a few moments, wondering if they really would stay away from the two cats.
What an odd situation for him to place himself in. Was this really okay?

Alice rolled over and opened one eye groggily, unsure of why she had been awoken so damned early. Sunlight blinded her for a moment, so she was unsure of what she saw sitting across from her, it looked much like a large blob. When her eyes adjusted she made out the shape and face of Dhiren starring at her. Immediately the female relaxed and rested her head back on the cloths of various colors. She gave him a small smile, wondering why it was her heart threatened to hammer out of her chest and reached for him. “I thought last night was some silly fantasy I had come up with…” Shakily she got to her knees and crawled over to him, resting her head on his lap. “But I’m glad its not.” Her eyes traced over her form in the wrinkled clothes, his jacket disregarded and blushed. She had just been so tired after such an emotional awakening that she had fallen asleep so utterly that she had forgotten he was here. The wrinkled clothing bugged her, Alice was one to keep her things neat, often sleeping nude for fear of doing just this. Sighing heavily she arose from where she was comfortable, knowing it would only bug her if she didn’t change. “Close your eyes.” She mumbled with her back to him, not waiting to check if he did she pulled off her turtleneck and went in search of something that would be suitable. Sadly all she found was a low-cut day dress. She needed to do laundry. The female sat down in a huff, new outfit clearly not making her happy and grunted that he could open his eyes.

Dhiren hadn't realized she was awake until she got up to crawl over to him. His face flushed at being caught watching her sleep, but he smiled down at her nonetheless and placed his hand on her head, patting her gently. He didn't say anything, but was nearly certain his heart beat was loud enough to hear. When suddenly, the comfortable weight of her head left his lap and she turned away from him, he began to follow with his head in question. Her words left her mouth only moments too late and Dhiren snapped his head around instantly, staring out at the university with his face flushing furiously. His ears tilted back a little in guilt, and only at her displeased grunt did he dare a glance back again.
Of course, he thought the sundress looked cute, even as she pouted in it. "We going somewhere today?" He growled softly, teasing. The Somali tom turned and reached over to retrieve his jacket before crawling out from under the bench and standing. Shaking out the wrinkled garment, he regarded it for a moment with an uncertain look before slipping it on over his brown sleeveless. Turning back to Alice, he held his hand out for her with a soft smile. He felt unusually relaxed this morning, and relieved that the decision he made last night wasn't backfiring.

Alice glared at him with that damned smile, though it made her heart quicken and her stomach drop. She looked up at him and took his hand, somewhat unwilling to go out from under the bench. Men were always so fussy, she was fine where she was, not facing the world in this atrocious sundress. She sighed and pouted, looking up at him from under her bangs. “Well I thought maybe you would know somewhere to go, my life is pretty boring if you think about it…”
The female looked down and blushed, having just admitted that she was boring in the process of saying she had nothing really to show him. Quietly just to busy her hands she smoothed out his jacket and mumbled “Perhaps we should get you more clothes?”

Dhiren raised an eyebrow at the pouting woman and tilted his head to the side with a skeptical grin. "I find it hard to believe that your life is boring." He began in a light growl, "But, if I must humor you today, then I guess I don't have a choice." Having said this, he looked away from her and towards the city, heaving a sigh of mock exasperation and shrugging his shoulders in indifference. When she began tugging at and smoothing down his jacket, amber eyes blinked downward to peer at her curiously, his ears perking at her comment. "What's wrong with my clothes?" His expression was genuinely lost as he gazed at her; so there were a few wrinkles, that was fine, right?
With another sigh, he let one ear fall to the side before snaking his arm around the female's waist. "Regardless, let's go. We'll find something to do today." His bushy tail flickered, brushing against the back of her legs, and he began toward the edge of the university and into the city.

The Somali female draped her arm over his shoulders and giggled as his tail tickled her legs… perhaps the dress wasn’t bad after all. “I just thought you might want something to wear, I mean you can’t wear the same thing all the time.” She smiled up at him, brushing away the bangs that were growing far too long. Alice rested her head against his shoulder and closed her golden eyes, completely trusting him to lead, something she didn’t do much.
Light played against her closed eyes, glowing red in spots where the leaves over had did not shield her from the sun. Her mind was at peace, not quite fretting over everything as it always did, it could have been the fact that she was still half asleep or it could have been the company she was keeping. Her brain did not stay on one thing too long, but always drifted back to how pleasant last night was. She loved feeling so safe in the strong arms of the other, being cuddled and treated as though she were precious and not a midnight snack. A light purr excepted her lips as she thought of how warm he had been, and how lonely she was without him when she thought that he was dating another. Princess, Belle whoever that being was, it did not matter. Alice had got the guy she wanted, and damned she was pleased to know it.

Dhiren still didn't see what the big deal was, but he shook his head lightly and murred softly, "If you insist.... I guess we could look at a few things..." His ears fell back a bit at the thought of shopping, but he sighed and began leading her in the direction of Kokitsu Plaza; it seemed the best candidate for clothes. The Somali male was content to walk with this woman, holding her securely near him, relishing in the feeling of being so close with her. The unsettling flutter in his body didn't cease though, and his face was slightly flushed at her close proximity. As they left the campus and began heading into the city, the color of his face deepened. As he walked, his fur brushing hers, through the throngs of human legs, the tom began getting a bit edgy, and not only because they were among humans. Slipping slightly from her side, letting his hand slip from it's comfortable position at her hip and lingering with the backs of his fingertips brushing her hand, the fluffy male coughed lightly. "Where should we check first...?" He began in a soft, uncertain growl, amber eyes dancing from shop front to shop front, then to an odd human, "..What did you have in mind for clothes as well?"

Alice watched him curiously as he slowly drifted away from her and like any able minded woman thought it had to be something she had done wrong. However with pride as her sin she said nothing and tried her best to ignore the growing apprehension that he was having second thoughts. “It was merely a suggestion, we don’t have to if you don’t really wish to.”
The Somali played with a loose tendril of her hair nervously trying her best not to fidget with the idea that he found something wrong with her. Alice only appeared on the outside to elude confidence but in all actuality if one were to truly get to know someone such as she, they would find someone that had little to no real pride in herself whatsoever. She had never felt as though she belonged anywhere, and doubted she ever would… so when Dhiren drifted away from her, seemingly upset all she could think of was that this was all happening again. Sighing to herself she frowned and turned away from him, not allowing him to see the expression on her face. Yet another flaw that she had, the inability to shield emotions from showing upon her face.
Alice in all reality was first and foremost a perfectionist, and everything about her was flawed, making her feel like all she could really be in life was a toy for those who were not quite as flawed. A puppet tied to strings held only in place by scotch tape that was slowly peeling away and soon she would be disregarded. Slowly she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and continued walking, now distancing herself from Dhiren self-consciously.

Dhiren was taken slightly aback by the way she brushed off the idea of getting clothes altogether. Not that he was complaining about getting out of a shopping trip, but as he darted glances at her, he could tell there was something more going on. As they walked, a small gap separating them now, an uncomfortable tension began to stretch between them. What exactly was happening, the tom wondered, reminding himself with a flash of guilt that he had started it.
So the two Somali cats bypassed the shops altogether, without stopping to check out even one. Soon, the fountain in the middle of the plaza came into view, and, feeling completely defeated by an unknown enemy, the tom veered away and stalked over to it, plopping down on the edge with his hands stuffed in his pockets and a frustrated, brooding expression on his face. What exactly was his problem, and while on the subject, what was hers?
Amber eyes glanced up to follow the lovely female as she moved, but as he thought about embracing her again, that fluttering started up at his pit and his face flushed. Tearing his gaze away from her and staring instead at the ground, Dhiren growled to himself and flattened his ears. One step forward, two steps back. Had nothing really changed with him? What happened to last night's progress? Dhiren was pissed at himself.

Alice bit her lip and followed him to the fountain her head swam with ideas as to why he seemed so displeased, but she brushed them off accordingly. Today was meant to be nice, and she would be damned if she couldn’t right it.
So with a new found determinedness she found herself striding over to him with an uncertain smile upon her face. When she was within arms reach the Somali female flopped onto his lap and put her arms around his neck watching his face. “Darling have I done something to displease you? You need to tell me these things.” One of her ears flickered uneasily to the side and she tried to remain her usual self with a smile. All of this was new to her, like molten lava flowing beneath her veins smothering out everything but the intoxicating being before her.
Lightly the female laid her lips upon his forehead and smiled at him, locking eyes with the only person in the area worth her attentions.
~~~ Aidan was wandering around his territory smiling broadly at the various street performers as he spotted a couple near the fountain. Pretending to be listening to the lovely violinist from the university playing for the Town Square, while secretly watching the couple from afar. It was a hobby of his, seeing love birds in action, but oh did something seem off about these two, how they seemed so unsure, perhaps he could make him value the beauty in his lap.
Dhiren could hear Alice getting nearer, but didn't move to look up at her again until she sat herself in his lap. His ears tilted back and he slipped his hands out of his pockets in surprise as his eyes darted to her face. He glanced away from her, growing embarrassed at her affections. His eyes happened to catch sight of another tom nearby, and his face heated up even further.
Bringing his hands to the female's hips, Dhiren gently lifted her off of him and sat her on the ledge beside himself. "It's.... nothing." He growled softly, looking at his lap. Nothing she could fix anyway. Again, his eyes flickered over to the other tom; he seemed to be preoccupied with the violinist, but Dhiren still felt awkward putting his affection on display for even this stranger to see. "S...sorry." He murred very softly, daring to look at her again. His expression was a mixture of guilt and apprehension as amber eyes met gold briefly, "Are you sure... you don't want to go any place specific? There's... a lot of people... here..." His face was still flushed and he pinned his ears back and narrowed his eyes a little. Still, he made no move to embrace her at all, and instead sat with his hands loosely fisted in his lap.
Alice frowned and looked away, she could understand part of why he was upset, Dhiren had never been really social, but this was a bit much. She stood and turned her back to him, tense in all of her actions. “I really had nothing planned today Dhiren, but I am open for suggestions, perhaps you would prefer to be alone for some time?” At that Alice was now aware of another presence standing behind her, towering over her and blocking out the sun.
“Excuse me miss, I couldn’t help but question what such a lovely girl is doing out here allowing herself to be occupied by one male, who seems not to return her intentions.” In a moment he had her hand in his, and laid his lips upon it, delicately brushing the dainty palm with his lips.
Alice found herself stunned for a moment, with a heavy blush laden on her cheeks. Where had this man come from, and so suddenly? Much unlike Dhiren she had been oblivious with the male occupied with the Violinist, so much to her surprise she had become the target. After the general shock had dissipated she jerked her hand from the others grasp, but she was sure the damage was already done… Her gaze fell to Dhiren, completely dumbfounded in this new emotion… guilt.
That did it, she was mad at him. His ears flicked at her dismissal and when she stood up and faced away from him, he followed her with his eyes. He spotted the male from before before Alice had, blinking in confusion as he crossed in front of him and stood between himself and Alice.
It occurred to Dhiren only moments too late, what this guy's intentions were, and amber eyes smoldered into the other's backside as he captured and laid his lips on Alice. The female turned to throw him a worried glance, but he didn't meet her eyes. The orange tom's pupils narrowed to slits, and his tail lashed behind him, but he hesitated. Who was this guy? What exactly did he think he was doing with her?
Was he to fight for her now? For a moment, Dhiren shifted his gaze to Alice; couldn't she get herself out of it? "Oi, what do you think you're doing there?" He growled finally, raising a hand to brush his bangs from his eyes momentarily. His ears remained flat as he glared at the strange male.
Aidan turned, grinning with purpose behind his eyes at the other male that had captured this beauty’s spirit. He grinned at the fiery tom, meeting him with calm cool eyes. “Why I am showing a lovely lady attention on such a wonderful fall day, not throwing her off my lap and disregarding how such actions may affect ones pride.” Once more he turned from the other tom and smiled at the female before him. Yes he already had found the love of his live, but he would be damned if he allowed such a cute thing to be mistreated in his territory. Better yet was that neither of these two seemed to know who he was.
Alice stepped back from the two with a disturbed look on her face, bordering on disgusted. She had never seen Dhiren loose his calm that much before, and the look in his eyes frightened her, but all the same it felt good to have someone defend her honor, even where none was to be had. She turned her back on both the toms, intending to simply walk away and find some good natured fun, perhaps feeding the ducks or getting food from a nearby vendor, when something wrapped around her waist. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the arm pinning her to a side, and looked up into the eyes of the person that had kissed her palm. He was smiling at her now, and even she had to admit his eyes were amazing. A blush crept up her face as he kept her there and dipped her, brushing his cheek against hers and whispering softly in her ear. “I am Aidan, and dear, he is going to wish he treated you better.”
Dhiren's skin pricked at the response, and his face flushed with guilt, but he didn't tear his gaze away from the stranger before him even when the other again disregarded him for his woman. He completely missed the disgusted look Alice gave both of them, for his attention was completely absorbed by the churning, boiling feelings inside of himself. "We didn't exactly ask you to come over here.." He growled, the corner of his mouth raising slightly to expose the tip of a fang. In the next instant, this strange male had captured Alice, pinning her against his side and leaning her back, closing in very close to her face. In that same instant, Dhiren's eyes flashed open wide and he was on his paws. "O-oi!" He repeated, louder as his fur rose in irritation, "Get your paws off her, idiot! Can't you tell she doesn't want anything to do with you either?" His shoulders tensed and he ducked his head a little when he realized how loud his voice had become. Beneath his bangs, he glanced around them quickly. A few humans had paused to watch the three cats curiously.
