Every month we always wait until the month is over to vote on a new theme. By the time we have it and a banner, the month is half way over.
My suggestion... hold theme voting the LAST week of the month for the next month. That way at the most we'd only have to wait through the first week of the month for the banner and we'd already have our theme listed on the main page.

Yes, taht sounds reasonable. Or, vote for two months at a time.

Yeah...that's a very sensible idea. Naturally I didn't think of it...but we'll definately be incorporating that into our banner thingy.
