It had been a while since Ylva had seen Xx'ami. The last she'd seen him was when she had shown him a safe place to rest. Why he was on her mind today even she didn't know.
But she couldn't help wonder what happened to that hyena. He'd been mannerly enough and it had been a while. Even if the female wouldn't admit it EVER, she was worried. Asa was doing fine on his own it seemed, she could leave him and go off to do her own thing.
She made no effort to conceal her self as she marched across the plains. These were the lands she had come to survive on her own. She knew them and she was not about to take cover in known territory. Sure, other scavengers and predators shared the land with her, but she wasn't afraid of them.
So she marched onward.

It had been days since he came starving to the 'front step' of the kindly female Hyena. He had gained some weight, scavenging when he was weak and hunting small game in the area when he had the strength to.
Xx'ami gave a small yawn, his belly full and his body rested. He hadn't felt this good since... He couldn't even remember a time where he was well rested and well fed.
He honestly felt lazy, almost unwilling to move on from this place. He needed a place of his own, a place he could call home. His own calling would yell at him soon if he didn't start moving again.
He shook his head slightly in the breeze and scanned the land lazily. He'd have to tell Ylva when he left, and thank her again. Of couse, he'd find her a gift! To thank her for her kindness.
He probably wouldn't have survived.

The hyena sniffed the air, separating other scents to find the male she had left. Sure, she could check back where she left him, but her gut told her she wouldn't find him there.
Still... Ylva sniffed the ground. Ugh, how was she going to find his scent. So many other animals, prey hyena and lion, all used these fields. The hyena let out a small huff of hair and rested on her haunches.
Why did she even care if he lived or died. She had only met him once. Wasn't like he was Asa. Damn her soft side. The female grumped as she sat there out in the open. He could still be at the den? Maybe she could get a good whiff of his scent if he wasn't there.
So the female got up and slowly made her way over to that den she had left him alone at. It seemed like such a long time ago since she had last visted this place. Asa had been quite a hand full to heal.

Xx'ami gave a wide yawn, hinking over things. He could think a lot in this area. What would he get for Yvla when he left, he wondered. He would leave tomorrow, he decided, even though he wasn't completely healed. He'd stayed long enough, he thought. He was still a bit thin, but he could eat a lot more then he had.
Maybe a stone, a shiny one like he had found for his necklace. The dark hyena looked down at the rock that hung from a cord. He could just give this one to her and find another one later.
He smiled. Yes... That was what he'd do.
Looking up, Xx`a's gaze skimmed over the horizon, and he spotted the familiar shape of a hyena. He watched the shape as he waited.

There was a dark shape up by her old hunting den. Hyena by the looks of it. Ylva grinned, had to be Xx'ami. How many other dark hyenas wandered about?
"Xx'ami?" The hyena grumbled to her self, her pace quickening a bit. The closer the hyena got the clearer the dark hyena shape got. It was Xx'ami and he looked very good. Not the scraggly bag of bones she had come across a while back.
"Xx'ami." Her tone was flat and sounded bored, but really the hyena was glad to see him. Even if she wouldn't admit it, she had a soft spot.

The darkly colored hyena gave a small smile to the female. "Hello, Ylva," came his slightly airy, but happy, reply. The dark paws that stretched before him seemed to stretch further as he pulled himself up.
"What brings you out here?" He asked, hoping not to sound rude - he was curious is all, it wasn't that he wasn't glad to see her.

The hyena couldn't help but stare at him. He really seemed to have taken good care of him self out here on his own. Amazement was an understatement.
"You're looking well," Ylva blinked at him, even his tone had gone unnoticed. If she hadn't been in such a shock she'd probably have commented on it.
"So, by the looks of it, you're doing alright."

The male hyena gave a small grin and a nod. "You're looking well, yourself," he replied innocently. Xx'ami-da knew how to clean up when he was stationary. Having never known boundaries, he couldn't seem to find his, except when overeating - he could never do so.
However, his other bodily boundaries were nil. He just didn't know them. "I'm alright, Miss Ylva," he told her politely - today was a better day - he was hurt and he wasn't hungry.
"You're alright though?" he asked

Ylva nodded, "Yeah yeah I'm fine." She gave him a small smile. Really it was good to see him in good health after seeing him in his frail state.
"You really have impressed me," She said still a little in shock.
"You are welcome to stay .. however long you want."

The dark hyena gave a bit of a smile. "I'm glad," that he could impress her anyways - he assumed his health was the issue - what else would it be? "I might have to leave soon, though," he tilted his head up to her.
He wasn't supposed to stay this long in the first place, he had to go, he needed to find what he was looking for - for Ban, his frend, his unrequited love that would remain so forevermore.
"I wanted to give you a gift before I had to leave though, to thank you." He pulled himself up and lowered his head, letting the necklace with the red stonce slide off of his neck and onto the ground before the silver female.

Ylva stared at the crimson stoned necklace, her eyes darting back and forth from the stone to the male. Was he really gifting her such an impressive gift? She was shocked.
"Th-thank you." She stammered still a little in disbelief this male had gifted her such a gift. "I hope you come back to these lands more often..." She looked off to the side as if something else was a little more interesting. Ylva was horribly socially awkward when it came to the warm and fuzzy stuff. She really meant what she said when she said it though.
"I hope you a safe trip Xx'ami. I really wish you well....." Ylvas eyes darted back to the males. Her usual cold eyes were warmer.

The dark hyena gave a small nod, pulling himself up in preperation to leave. "I'll visit you in the future," he told her, sincerally, before giving a small bow of his head.
"Thank you, Ylva, truly." he told her beforetaking a few steps passed her. "I'll be taking my leave now... I'll see you in the future, maybe." He gave a last look to her beofre trotting off to find someplace else to go - to find his calling.
