Whether you were sent here, or came here on your own accord, you are here to learn how to RP. I personally put this in so we can keep the newbies that we like, but cannot RP at an appropriate level. We are not like a real, complex school, but one that will get you up to a level where you can actually beat older members of this RP guild. Now a few rules to get you started:

o1. We do not use *, -, +, etc. to display actions
o2. When your RPC speaks, put them in " "
o3. Don't piss off the MODs, it will assure the death of your RPC

Roleplaying and You

There are rules to RPing, which some may not know of, here are a couple to get you started:

A "roleplay" {RP} is when someone {like yourself} tells a story, about some made up character {A.K.A RPC -Roleplaying Character}. It is usually told in a 3rd person point of view {P.O.V.}. Here's a little walkthrough of the P.O.V.'s and some other things.

Points of View

1st Person P.O.V.

The 1st person P.O.V., you are using words/phrases such as:

I
Me
We
Us

In an RP, we use 1st person only when our RPC is talking. {Remember to use " "} Here's a quick example:

Farklelini blinked hard at the question, taking a moment to process it. "Well, it does rhyme with genie. I couldn't really think of anything else to call myself, plus I'm an eagle's a**!"

2nd person P.O.V.

The 2nd person P.O.V. is when you are using words/phrases such as:

You
They
Them
*{Him,She,Her,He}

*{Can also be in 3rd person P.O.V.}

In an RP, we use 2nd person only when our RPC is talking. Here's a quick example:

It's not like you enjoyed hanging out with them anymore than I do!" Farklelini yelled at Jade. "She is a nutter!"

3rd Person P.O.V.

3rd Person P.O.V. is indeed the style we use most when RPing. 3rd person allows us to show what our RPC is doing, any movements, gestures etc. Here is some words and phrases that let you know your talking in 3rd person:

He
She
Him
Her
It

Examples of 3rd Person P.O.V. RP

Farklelini's eyes started to water as the pan came crashing into his face. He yelled at the top of his lungs, reaching octaves high enough to shatter glass.

Punctuation and Spelling

Alright, we don't expect everyone to be uber genius writers, but we do expect you to make an effort!

Sentences like this are retarded and often times confusing due to the lack of punctuation why people write like this escapes even my grasps You shouldn't do this at all because people will think you are a loser.

Punctuation is key my young padawans!

. Periods are used to end your sentence
, commas are used to pause your sentence
; semi-colons are to continue your sentence, even if it seems run on
: are used when you are about to give a list of things
! exclamation points are used to show excitement, anger, etc
? question marks represent...questions

You don't have to spell like an encyclopedia or anything but there IS a spell checker on gaia if you haven't noticed.

Acceptable:

Farklelini claped his hans together and created a smal burst of fire

We will not accept sentences with...HUGE mistakes like so:

Frinkeldoodoo glaspe him hunds 2gedder & creetd a smull burct of h0t stuf

And we damn sure as hell will not accept sentences spelled as so:

F@rkl3!n! cl@pped h!s h@n[ wink $ t0&3th3r & cr3@t3[ wink @ $m@ll bur$t 0f f!r3

Also, please don't write like this:

Farklelini sighed. "2morrow I'll handle it, but 4 now I don't want to mess with it."

Write the word out, don't be lazy!

Farklelini sighed. "Tomorrow I'll handle it, but for now I don't want to mes with it.'

* * Are often used to portray your characters thoughts {NOT FOR ACTIONS}

Jade thought quietly to herself. *He isn't that cute, but he's really nice...should I go to home coming with him?*

Those are private thoughts that you want people to see, but not know. It lets others get a bit closer to your RPC and see what they are like on the inside.

() {} [] Are for OOC {out of character} chatting when in a RP setting.
