The Lowdown
As fantasy-related as this is, we need some reality too.

Here is where you would go, should you have any issues. The rules are here, in case you notice someone breaking them or whatever; the FaQ is here, should you have a question that may have already been asked; and should you have any suggestions and/or requests, you can post 'em up in this thread too.

This is a public, people-friendly guild. To make this guild as safe as possible, we ask that each person be responsible. Following rules helps build good character, and that takes you a long way.

Rules:
Consider them like the Laws of Almanast.

1. Always follow Gaia's ToS
- This is a given, folks. It's posted thousands of times every hour, and it is tiring to see everywhere, but it is a necessary reminder. Failure to comply with the ToS usually results in a permanent banning of Gaia, so please, honor it.

2. Treat you fellow roleplayers with respect.
- We've all heard that classic golden rule, so I won't even bother quoting it. Heck, even Jesus himself said it (seriously, check the bible, "love they neighbor as thyself"). So, that means no harrassment, no cyber-bullying, no flamming, no this, no that, you get it. Be nice, and be respectful. IF you are reported for Violation of this rule, you will be given a warning, and if it continues, you will be temporarily and/or permantly banned, depending on the severity.

3. Follow the hierarchy: listen to the mods
- This sort of ties in with the second rule, but it is worth mentioning on it's own, too. Anyone of a higher rank than you, you must treat with more respect. If they ask you to do something, then do so. If it's something completely insane, then you might want to reconsider, and maybe tell another mod about it. Other than that, obey the mods. Refusal can and will most likely lead to temporary and/or permanent banning.

- On another note, mods, which includes crew members and vice captains, Please be reasonable. As a higher ranking guild member, you are held responsible for your actions and act as a role model to others. Never demand anything of anyone lower than you. Ask politely. Manners go a long way, I know from experience, so by all means, use them.

4. Always be honest and truthful
- Please, don't let pride and/or ignorance get in the way of this one. We all make mistakes, so accept them and try to fix them if you can. Do not lie about anything, decieve anyone, or attempt to scam people. If this is discovored, no warning will be given, and you will be either temporarily or permenantly banned with a reason why.

5. Keep everything PG-13: no explicit content
- This goes against policy anyway. Light romance is allowed, like holding hands, hugging, maybe a peck on the cheack or a quick kiss, but nothing past that. We don't want to read about someone having a sex scandal like we all see in gossip magazines already. I hate those magazines...

- Also, the same can be said with violence. Yes, monster-bashing is involved, but that does not mean you get to impale hordes of orcs with a bent metal pipe and a chainsaw to spill their guts out. besides, chainsaws haven't been invented yet. Keep the gore to a minimum, like cuts, bruises, a broken bone, etc. You can have gashes and have bloody murder, but you don't have to explain the extent of your torn apart body and how it's a miracle you're still alive while your stomach is hanging out in the open (I've heard it's quite painful).

- Failure to comply with either of these notes will involve all three stages of disciplinary action, depending on the extent.

6. No god-moding, unoriginal characters, mary/gary/emo sues, etc.
- None of us like to see people blasting everything within a ten-mile radius to atomic size with a snap of their fingers. If you wan't to do that, you're in the wrong place. None of us like to see people block every single attack you throw at them. besides, there are systems set in place to prevent these kinds of things. Don't try to bypass and ignore the system. You will be prosecuted in the fullest extent of the law and most likely temporarily banned at first indication. Anything further will result in a permenant ban.

- None of us would like to see Naruto and Ichigo running around like the idiots they are and killing the guild, either. Please, originality is a BIG plus here. You can borrow ideas, but you can't just copy their stories and make it yours. That's illigal anyway; it's copyrighted material, and plagairism can get you several years in prison.

- Mary sues, Gary sues; they're the same, just one for each gender. Don't do these. If you don't know what they are, look it up. When you read it, you'll undersand why so many people hate it. The same goes for Emo sue. Same concept, just different type of stpry going on there. The three sues are intolerable. You won't necessarily get in trouble for this, but you will be asked to change and fix the problem. Absolute refusal will result in temporary banning.

7. Have fun, and be creative
- That's what we're here for, yes? Have at it. mrgreen

Frequently asked Questions:
Everyone has them. That's why this is here.

Q: What is Almanast?
A: Almanast is a unique fantasy world, loosely based on the medieval time period with a mixture of little modern technology.

Q: What else can I do besides roleplay in Almanast?
A: Several things. There are subforums that are not focused on Almanast for you to enjoy as well. Hold discussions; showcase your art, your writings; start a roleplay of your own; set up shop if you sell art, or pull off a trade with someone who has an item you want that they want to sell. Alamanast is not just a roleplaying community, it's a place where we can show off our creative selves and have fun.

Q: Someone is breaking one of the rules. What do I do?
A: Report them emmediately! Either to me, b10, or any other person of authority. Proper disciplinary action will be taken, and they will be notified of their wrongdoing. Your name will remain anonymous, rest assured.
*note* When reporting someone, it is best to provide evidence to prove your accusation, lest you be lyinig and trying to get back at someone for something.

Q: I was notified saying I broke a rule, but I didn't do anything wrong! What do I do?
A: Sometimes people make mistakes. This could be anyone, not just rule-breakers. If you have broken a rule, sometimes you may not kow it. Don't worry, if you didn't know, it will be considered a warning. If you indeed did nothing wrong, which usually means someone had lack of evidence, nothing will be done against you, and the accuser will be given a warning for "false information:" Another incentive to prevent people from lying.

Q: I'm confused about something. Where do I go for help?
A: Blonde moment? Not to worry! You can always ask for help from any person of authority, or anyone else who might know. If all else fails, you can try searching for the answer in a help thread or check the Almanast guide, or even just ask me. Don't worry, I don't bite.
*note* no offense to all those blondes out there.

Q: I can't find the answer to a question/problem. What do I do now?
A: Well, there are two options. Like stated above, you can see if anyone else knows the answer, that includes me, or, my personal favorite, is to create a solution. We're all human beings, which means we are all intelligent creatures. I do believe one is smart enough to make up a solution if one cannot find it.

Q: I can't beat this boss/monster/opponent.
OR
I can't get past this test/beat this instructor. What do I do?
A: When dealing with monsters, primarily boss monsters, if you can't do it alone, try having a party with you. Parties are one of the most helpful aspects of the game. Or, if you'd rather work alone, try leveling up by doing some side quests and jobs to get easy experience points. The same concept goes for passing tetst or trials, primarily the final tests by instructors. Parties wont be allowed here, so you'll have to stick to leveling up before trying again.

More will be added as necessary
