It had been ages since he'd seen another wolf. Not that he would really know how to act around another one. Several moons ago he had gotten a rather harsh knock on his head. He awoke only knowing his name. It was a struggle to not have anyone, but he slowly became used to it.
Still, he.. needed a friend. Someone to count on. Since he'd never end up finding his family at this rate. He slowly padded down the pathway, his eyes glowing a bit with each step. A new scent filled his nose and he had to follow his curiousity, wondering what he would need to learn about this new scent that appeared before him. Mm.. He was so curious~
As he got closer, his movements slowed down until he was almost inching carefully. He had to be ready for a fight, as some wolves wanted nothing more than to prove dominance. His natural instinct would not allow him to give up in a fight or let anyone push him around.
He peeked through the bushes, his tail wagging lightly in the air behind him.

Revel relaxed on a bed of moss, enjoying the cool rocks against her back and the sun on her face. She didn't catch the male's scent right away, but she heard him. She turned to look, compensating a little for the impaired vision in one eye. When she saw him, she jumped up so hard she hit her head on one of the rocks. Yooowww, she thought, shaking her head to clear it and laughing quietly at herself.

It would be rude to laugh at the female when she had hurt herself, but he couldn't help but smile and shake his head a little. He finally stepped through the brush when he was sure she wasn't a threat, taking a seat and tilting his head.
"Are you alright?" He asked with his eyes glowing, hoping she hadn't hurt herself too badly. He'd feel bad, as it was him that disturbed her from her relaxed state.
"I'm Elan, by the way." A nod of his head was given in a greeting, wanting to be polite.

"Yeah, that tends to....happen on a regular basis," the female laughed, beginning to feel more at ease. "I'm Revel."
She nodded back in a gesture of respect. "I like your name. Do you live around here?"
The breeze ruffled her fur, and she half-closed her eyes to the sun. Ahh, but she loved the feeling of a day like this!

He gave a wolfish grin and shook his head. "I don't really live anywhere. I love to travel a lot. I want to see what the world has to offer." Though it got lonely. He wouldn't admit that though.
He shivered a bit at the breeze, glad that it was finally getting cooler. "Do you live close by?" His head tilted once more, looking rather curious.

Revel blew out a breath in something like a sigh. "You could say I do," she replied. "This is the only place I've found that's got anything much that resembles food. I've been out here since...." she trailed off for a moment. "....well, at least long enough to know that I won't be another casualty of...." Her voice broke; the memory was still fresh, despite the passed time. She wasn't sure she wanted to finish.

When he saw how upset she got, he frowned a little before moving a bit closer. "You don't have to talk about it.. if it upsets you." His ears lowered a little, looking slightly sad. He was.. lucky, at least he didn't have bad memories. He just didn't have any of them. "We can talk about something else. Like the weather.. or the river."

"I suppose I ought to say it to someone." She gathered herself. "Rabies." The word left a terrible taste in her mouth. Awful reminders...but at least now it was not all locked up. "We split up to try and stop it, but....i don't think we did it soon enough. It took my whole family. I know because....I found each of them....gone." She shuddered and looked very much like she might throw up, but at the same time...it did feel better. "I've been pretty much hanging out here since then. What about your family? Do you still have yours?"

"Rabies.." He repeated, looking rather saddened by that. Poor girl, rabies did terrible things to wolves. She was lucky tobe alive, really.. The question made his head lower just a little, his shoulders as well.
"No." Elan finally shook his head, "I don't remember anything before a few months ago. I remember pain and I woke up alone. That's it. I'm not sure if I ever even had a -real- family.."

Revel wanted to comfort him, but she had no idea what to say. The sky soon solved that problem for her. "Wow, the weather's going to be nasty tonight. You can hole up with me, if you want to." She wanted to say that he could freeze to death if he didn't but she couldn't bring herself to add that.

When he saw the sky and heard her words, he nodded his head a bit with a smile. "I would appreciate that. I could use extra warmth." He gave a wolfish grin. "Is your hole near by..?" His ears perked a little with interest in finding a safe place for the night. It wasn't always easy, especially as a lone wolf.

Revel grinned. "We're right on the doorstep. Look here!" She moved a smaller boulder away from the big one she'd hit her head on, and revealed an opening. "See?" she said with some pride. "Made it myself! Big enough for both!" As she looked back at him, her stomach growled and she growled right back, exasperated. There'd been enough food so far to sustain life, but not enough to keep her in a decent condition. She was definitely losing weight, and she was tired of her stomach's complaints. "Sorry about that, Elan," she said apologetically.

"Hey, if you're hungry," He gave her a grin, "Let's hunt a bit of game before we crawl in. We won't freeze before then. I bet with the two of us we could take down a small doe." His eyes glowed a little with the thought of having a fresh meal. a wag of his tail was given.

Revel lifted her head and took a good whiff of the wind, but her head dropped. 'We can't." She said, looking disappointed. "Bull moose. Normally I'd say we could just avoid him, but that one's absolutely murderous."

"We'll eat once we get up, then." he nudged her with his nose a little. "You go in first." That way he could guard the entrance and help protect her. After all, he was supposed to be helpful. This wolf seemed to need a bit of help, but he knew he did too. Sharing their woes and hunting together could be very positive for both of them.
