Wolves, wolves, everywhere! Wolves, wolves, in her hair! Oh, how Eden loved to have company around her, enough that even to leave her own family for even a brief moment was with much reluctance. But the sights, the scents, the whole world left to see for her curious eyes and dark nose! What could she find by simply walking several paces from their den and following a random trail? The day was young, her energy fully charged and brimming. Bring it on, she said, bring it on! Friends, yes, she needed to start making friends! And bring them over home to show to her family, so that they could play even more games!
Oh, the places you'll go! Facing the clear-skied morning with an upbeat attitude, the dark little pup began to weave her way through the grass, finding herself in a large plain of the stuff - blades as tall as Sha her adopted sister, how marvelous! It would make the perfect game of hide and go seek here. Were others waiting within, already playing? She poked her nose through a thick tuft of grass and began to sniff eagerly, tail wagging a tad. "Hellooooo~?" Eden called, white toes bringing her forward into the green and gold maze. Fall was coloring the landscape, very slowly, yes, very slowly . . . Soon the summer would become a little colder.

Numair bounded through the thick grasses full of glee. He was FREE at last, away from the pestering siblings and the downsides to having a large family. The young male longed to make a name for himself and what kind of name came from someone that was confined to the cave in which he was born? Sighing happily he stuck his nose in the air and scented the sweet sent of individuality, he wasn’t just one of the pack out here, he was Numair, a force to be reckoned with, he could be whatever he wished to be! His dark paw pads danced happily on the hard packed earth as he hoped dearly he would find some others to make friends with, if not enemies.
Perhaps he would be the dread pirate Numair, a wolf only known for by his suave tongue, brilliant since of personage, and ruthlessness. Deep down the pup knew that he was anything but ruthless, but it was fun to pretend, even if just for a day. Perhaps he would actually be something. Something like a defendant of some greater good… yes that sounded like Numair. Numair the wolf that steals from the rich and gives to the poor.

"Hellooooooo~?" came her call again. Pawsteps forward were taken delicately, in case she disturbed whatever other creatures lied within the tall grass. Maybe she would come across a bear cub! Why a bear would be in the fields of all things she didn't know, but it was an interesting thought. But bear cubs would have much larger bear adults around, mommas keepign an eye out on their young and being overprotective. That, no, she didn't want at all . . .
Her musings were such that it took her a moment to realize that she was sniffing something more than just grains and grass and, perking up, followed it with cautious steps. It didn't smell like a bear cub, but like a wolf . . . Mayeb they would know where to find others? "Hellu!" Eden cooed, poking her head through a thick clump and spying a tanned figure not far away. Small, like she was, thankfully. "D'you know your way around here?"

The pale colored femme with her dark black markings under her eyes and on her tail and back shifted through the grass. She was small, petite even, the smallest of her litter, but far from the weakest. This was the farthest she had ever been away from home, but everything was so interesting and to understand the world one had to see as much of it as they could, right? Her father was a healer, he had seen many things, many places, she wanted to do the same. She admired her father and her mothers, but she took more after her father when it cam to her personality, almost withdraw.
The voice up ahead made her turn her small ears forward and looked up, black nose twitching she smelled more than one, she smelled two! She'd never met anyone outside of her pack, and it wouldn't be such a back thing to meet others. She bounded forward, raising her small voice as high as she could. "Helloo!" she called, he voice didn't raise as high as the others as Ithil was soft spoken and quiet, but she had a strong personality, almost philisophical thanks to her father.

He was finally free! He had split from his parents earlier in the morning, and wasn't about to turn back. But now what? He had a plan, of course. There was no way a young pup like himself could survive on his own, but he was certain that there would be a motherly - or fatherly - wolf out there somewhere willing to take him in and show him the ropes.
The reason had been simple enough... Freed hadn't wanted to move up into the cold mountain regions. He was a wolf after the ocean, the warmer climates, and the living grasses and trees! He didn't want endless white and freezing cold.
So it was that he stumbled upon sounds floating on the air. There were wolves about, what luck! The red and black male pounced forward, planning to join the fray and just blend in!

Ah, her luck would have it that indeed there were others around! A soft voice sounded a little to her right and, with a great smile, Eden replied, "Oh, hello, over there! I hope there isn't someone called Hello, or else this would be terribly confusing . . ." Though the clearing was occupied by the tan boy, she stepped out into it as well, trying not to make too much sound with her paws on the grass lest his concentration get broken or something, because he looked deep in thought. She was beginning to turn towards the sound of the feminine voice when she heard even more to her left.
Of course, luck would also have it that the second she turned around, something black and brown was rushing out into the clearing as well. With a startled yelp she scrabbled backwards, thinking the creature was going to pounce on her, and flopped to the ground; her limbs had entangled themselves in her nervousness. "P-Please don't eat me, Mister Bear!" Eden stammered before her senses told her it wasn't some angry bear. Oh. Another puppy. She flushed, ears flattened with embarassment.

Mordariel-- Riel, she reminded herself, or Morda, since they sounded prettier, more like other females' names (Not together, never together. Silly and long and complicated)-- trotted past tall trunks, underbrush and towards the sunlight she could see in the distance. A field.
Her aunt Elaine had taken her on a trip and while her aunt was napping Morda had left, taking the chance to see the sights for herself the way her aunt did when she went off on journeys and things. The things Morda's parents didn't want her to be doing until she was older. But she was old enough now!
The grass that came into view and the scent of the sun bouncing off the long stalks reminded Morda what a great idea this had been. A few sudden calls raised above mountain-tall grasses made Morda's ears perk forward and when she distinguished the high yips of pups talking she plunged through the wall of grasses, sky-high, ignoring that any adult would be able to pass through them with ease. Not so high, but that wasn't the important thing.
Mordariel wandered through the yellow-green grasses, peeking at open spaces here and there, not in any particular rush. Her nose caught the scent of other wolves-- girls, she thought-- and she stuck her face to the ground, trekking forward in the hopes of finding them.

Freedom was an understatement honestly. His freedom had come as a surprise, even to him, as one day he had wandered off from his home. He'd come from a human encampment, his parents murdered[unbeknown to him] and the humans had taken him for the past few weeks to make sure he was strong and healthy. As to what they had been planning to do with him, he wasn't sure.
Dae had left to explore, and upon his return, the humans were gone...probably thought him to be picked off by a predator in the night. That didn't get his spirits down, however. The world was filled with scents and sights he'd never discovered! And though when those humans put meat over those fires the smells were quite nice, this was completely different.
Padding along a beaten down deer-trail, the small pup picked up a bit of a bounce in his step, dancing and wiggling to an unknown tune that he'd made up in his head. He could hear other wolves--smell them, even. And he was curious to see who they were and what they were up to.

With her nose to the ground as it was, Mordariel looked up just in time to headbutt a rather odd-smelling male pup. After tripping to the side, Morda looked back at the pup, blinking to make her right eye stop hurting after some fur had stabbed it. She sniffed deeply, trying to discern the odd scent mixed into Dae's pelt and as her eye stopped insisting on tearing she ducked her head to wipe the moisture on her foreleg and then peer at him with steady purple eyes.
"You weren't one of the ones yelling, were you?" She asked, one ear perked forward and one twisted to the side. This boy was weird. No color at all. Just some light browns... Didn't every wolf have color?
"Where're the other two?"

The bonk to the head woke him up--he jumped and squeaked rather loudly, plopping onto his rear end and staring at the female in front of him. He'd never seen another wolf his size before! Goodness.
"I'm sorry!" He piped, eyes widening, "I wasn't watching where I was going and--" That's when she spoke up, and he cocked his head.
"Oh..no, I wasn't yelling." Dae smiled brightly, but was confused when she rubbed her nose after scenting him. He decided not to take it to heart, "There are two more? I thought I was the only small one," he understood that he was just a youngin', but didn't understand that others were small like him. He'd only been around the humans' dogs, who towered over him... all looked funny, too. Nothing like him. But this one! She looked just like him! Just...weird colors.

Ithil gave an small giggle at the other femme and the strange dark male that had appeared, had he been the other she had smelled, no...his scent was different. Odd, then there had to be another wolf out in these tall grasses. Goodness if that was true, how many of them were there?
"My name is Ithil." she said, her voice still soft. Maybe it was just by nature, or something she had just picked up, but she was always soft spoken, playful as any other but more gentle and subtle than most. It was just how Ithil was, but she wanted to be like her father and become a healer like him. So she had to be gentle and soft with others.
She looked up and out at the sounds of others. "How many are there out her?" she questioned aloud, not exactly to the others, but more to herself. Goodness, there had to be at least five of six of them by now!

At least he was polite. Her parents were always telling her to be polite, but Mordariel-- were she old enough to be honest with herself, which she wasn't-- was kind of selfish and didn't always care for politeness. Her mind was still focused on finding the other pups she'd heard, so she looked around for the best course to take. Not the way this pup had come, then.
"We should go find them," she suggested. As if remembering she wasn't an adult-in-charge, she looked at the other pup who still seemed rather bewildered. "Isn't that who you were looking for? Did you want to come with me?"
She tilted her head, looking him over again curiously. She rarely saw pups outside of her family, but she knew very well that he probably had a normal name too. Everyone knew that most pups had normal names.
"I want to find them before they move," she announced and turned away, listening again for any signs of other pups talking.

Did she bonk her head on accident too when she fell? There was no way there was . . . Eden counted in her head slowly, snippets of different voices played back. One, two, three . . . three? Her gray-green eyes widened with surprise and delight when she realized that her ears and nose and eyes weren't failing her: three other pups to play with! It was like having a second family!
"Sorry about that," she apologized, scrambling back to her paws to look at each of them in turn: so many different colors! The three before her had some sort of black as well on them - guess it was a popular color? "I'm Eden," the pup introduced herself enthusiastically, tail wagging as she turned her head to each. "And I think we've got enough pups to play a game! But I don't know what to play. Any ideas?" The bear cub was long forgotten. But she could hear two other voices nearby, and quickly the energetic youth turned her head to call to them. "Come join in!"
Eden didn't stop to think that she might have been calling also predators that ate puppies for breakfast. After all, only pups were springing out, so only pups were around, right?

"Oh maybe a game of stares!" Ithil piped up. It was a game she enjoyed and was fairly good at, but she was often beaten as well. "It's really nice to meet you Eden" she said looking to the males curiously. She wondered what their names where and even the meanings. She knew hers was like her mother's, named for the moon.
The small female listened to the others, quite interested, there were six of them, so many, maybe too many for a game of stares. What else could be played. She pondered to herself, tail doing a small circular motion rather than wagging back and forth like most. She wasn't sure, she didn't often play many games, she liked to stay up late and count the stars.

Dae had never been taught to be polite--he just learned whenever he was waddling around camp and the dogs yelled at him to get out of the way. Never did manage to ruin his mood, however.
Perking a bit when the femme spoke up again, he sniffed and looked around at another voice--oh. They were being called. The pup looked back down to the green-tinted wolf and smiled, "Sure, I'll go." He wanted to find out what was going on.
Pushing himself to stand up and shake himself off, the light throb from bonking heads having been forgotten, he came up beside her, not really able to keep himself still. "I'm Dae, by the way~" He piped up, ears perking and swiveling in the direction of another voice chiming 'come join us!' As to whether they were talking to them or not, who knew, but he was still beyond curious.
