The sun was slowly setting on the horizon when the grasses around the river echoed with paws. The wind had all but died down to prepaire for the night, leaving any movements out in the open for all around to take note of. Isoke, on the other hand, seemed to disreguard just how loud she was as she shifted and crawled across the lands.
It had been such a beautiful day outside, the sun shining and the breeze tickling the grasses. Being the energetic cub she was, she just couldnt pass the opertunity to take advantage of the weather, and when her siblings had all but fallen asleep, she was gone. Out into the wild she belonged to, out into the sun and the winds and the senses of life. It felt great to keep moving across her lands, and to the boundries her mother had only told her about as she dreamed.
Emerging from the grasses in the setting sunlight, she ignored the signs that it was time to go home as a smile filtered from her dark maw. The river was flowing steadily, the waters a dark blue that was dyed with the reflecting sun. Trees sprang from the necture of life that was the water, and the smell of nature overwhelmed her senses.
Oh how she loved her home.

Kenai kicked an idle foot, he was on his back snuggled next to the twins and Ari. It was a good sleeping spot, it seemed to provide the most warmth. Isoke had been next to him but soon that warmth was gone. Which made his small body very uncomfortable. He kicked again, squirming with a soft mew as he rolled to his side, paws flopping onto one of the twins heads.
After a small, shuddering breath his eyes cracked open, it seems that his body would not let him continue to sleep. He blinked around sleepily, a yawn stretching his small jaw. Wait, where was Isoke? Mum and pop.. the twins.. his sister was missing! He nudged into Asi's large paw, nibbling it a little. But the adult only gave a grunt and rolled over. He giggled and shrugged. He would find her! He darted for the entrance, eyes wide as he looked over the grass. He hated the grass. He stepped gingerly out, and then began to run. It was a very springy, hopping-like run. He was trying to avoid touching the grass as much as possible, which made him look rather like a fool.
"Isssoook~e?" He called out, ears flicking. His tail flicked and curled lightly against a hind paw, shying away from the green-yellow stalks of grass about him. He started to head in a random direction, luckily it was toward Isoke.

Stilling her movements and perking her ears, Isoke darted her eyes all around the small clearing as she all but swore she heard her voice yelled out. It almost sounded like her elder brother, Kenai, had been yelling for her name, and as she turned she felt a small pout cross her features.
"Found out already?" She whined to herself as a small stomp came from her front paw, "How does this always happen? Everyone else can get away..." Turning, she padded away from the grasses and towards the edge of the waters, looking out and taking it in as quickly as she could before her hunter would make his appearence.
At that moment, the wind picked up and seemed to push her away from the edge, her small form faltering and stepping back from the soft dirt. Eyes closing quickly, as soon as she was four steps away the wind died, but her scent was still carried away down wind and towards Kenai.

Kenai had no head for scents yet, he just thought wind was good for making flowers look pretty and sending leaves dancing accross the water. He was getting closer toward the river, but several times he was delyaed because he was distracted by a cricket or a dragonfly, a footprint or a pretty shaped rock. Kenai liked to study things all around him. Well, a few stops were cause from tripping and it probably had to do with the rediculous way he moved through grass.
He was just coming into view of Isoke. Maybe she would like to play a game! "Is~o!" He cooed out, running and making a pounce at her. "Why did you go in an adventure with out me~?" He giggled, nipping at her. Ever hyper and cheerful, Kenai was.

Isoke turned at the sound of her name just in time to see the slightly larger form of her brother bounding in the most ridulous way. Taking a step back, she was pushed by his paws and sent sprawling, landing a few inches from the cracking dirt of the bank.
"Kenai!" She cried out in surprise as soon as she caught her breath, "You shouldn't have followed me!" She tried to push him off, and soon succeded in rolling away and sitting up. Shaking her head soon after, her deep blue eyes she had gotten from her mother settled right on her elder brother.
"And I did not go on an adventure, I merely decided to..." She trailed off to figure out what to say, and remembered what her mother mumbled after they were born and she needed to get off some of the extra weight, "...go for a run..." It was akward and drawn out, before she shook her head and continued on.
"But really, Kenai, did you come here on your own, it isn't safe!" She chided soon after, and moved a step closer to nuzzle him with her cheek in a light greeting.

He giggled even though she seemed a bit upset, and when she moved away he sat up as well, now this was more like it! Dirt and pebbles and the like that was near to the bank was much more comforting to Kenai than grass.
"But I didn' follow yeh, I just found yeh!" He grinned at her, delighted that he could prove a point. "Oh lemme run with yeh to adve~nture!" He squeaked out, getting on all fours and wiggling with excitement. Maybe they would go into this weird swooshing thing, what had mum called it? Water! Oooh they could travel by water! Kenai had no clue about swimming, though.
"Well... yew cam here all by yerself. So it isn't safe for you neithers!" He suddenly looked frightened and his gaze flickered around. "Why! What is being out there?" He mumbled, body becoming still.

Pulling away lightly from his frightened form, Isoke let out a deep sigh and looked to the waters, "Mother said that the waters were not safe...it isnt hard like the ground...she said that you could fall into it and never come up for air..." She never wanted to think about not being able to breath, and before she wanted her brother to think that, she turned her vivid eyes onto him.
"Adventure you say?" It was than she moved and ran to him, pouncing as she forced both of their forms away from the water and towards the grasses, looking to pin the elder one down. It seemed like something all cubs wished to do, play around and wrestle to see who could end up on top. Never would they get hurt, for they only really used weight and momentum, but still she made sure to keep her nails in.
"First one to get pinned is momma's little baby!" She giggled out as she fought to stay on top.

He squeaked out and whined slightly, but he liked being near the water! And ground wasn't always hard. He'd have to pester mum about it later. He went into a fit of giggling as she proclaimed what would happen if you were pinned.
And with that he gently nipped at her face, twisting and squirming with the cubbish energy, delighted in this game. "Buuu~ games aren't adventures!" He finally brought up the point, still trying to make sure she didn't pin him, it was a hard job!

With his proclaimation, she felt her paws slip and she slid under his form. Becoming pinned instantly, she let out a soft whine as a pout crossed her maw.
"I guess you win today..." It was soft and she continued qucikly, "Alright, you want an adventure, we can go on one..." Pushing him over suddenly, she stood up and shook her dark pelt, the dust having settled to match her markings but soon was in the air. As she was finished, she turned her eyes back on her brother and sent him a shining smile.

He wriggled with anticipation once she shoved him off and he was back on his paws. "Oh! Oh!" He sounded completely delighted. "AlrighT! What kind of adventure? Are you gunna be the leader~? C'mon, c'mon!" He was now hopping around her, giggling.

She took a step back from all of his hopping, and let out a very chipper giggle. It was weird, but for some reason she decided the adventure they would go on would have to be just the two of them, no matter what. Such a strange idea it seemed, but one she had a feeling would live on for months, if not years, an inside joke so to speak.
"Kenai, calm down!" She giggled out soon after her thoughts had been settled, "You will find out in a moment...all you need to do is listen..." She than looked up to the sky to catch sight of one of the first stars, and than looked back to her brother, "...you know, I heard a rumor one day..." She looked both ways, from the right to the left, her voice hushing as if she was making sure no one would be able to hear them speak.

He calmed himself. A little, tail flicking still as he held himself still, eyes wide and curious. His maw was slightly parted, and his eyes widened more so when she began to go on in secretive tones.
"A rumor?" He breathed out, equally quiet. Oh this was going to be a grand adventure! He just knew it, hopefully mum and pops wouldn't come looking for them any time soon.

"Yes," She said in responce, "A rumor...a big rumor..." Trailing off as their voices settled into the silence once more, she suddenly just turned and started to walk, giving no sign of actually saying anything else as she decided whether or not to tell him.
The rumor she had heard was one that was partially from her ears, and partially from her mind. It was a game she made up ages ago in her dreams, when she still was unable to do anything but sit around all day. So if Kenai wanted to know so badly, he might as well work for it, at least a little for now, she wouldn't tease him too much.

The older cub whined lightly as she began to head away and he followed after, ears flat against his skull. "Isooo~ke!" He pleaded at her back, coming up beside her and half watching where he was going, half glancing to her. "Please! C'mon! Tell me!" He chirped up, eyes wide.
