I don't know if god is really telling me. I prayed and asked what I can do, but umm, I am also a talentled artist as well. do you think god could be telling me to dance? sometimes when Im listening to gospel I get up and dance. I used to be against dancing cos my mom was a stripper. but I have always been interested in break dancing. at first I thought god couild not really be telling me to dance cos I can't dance and I am really not loose enough, but the more I dance, the more I am getting into better shape, and the better I become at dancing. I thought maybe I imagined that god told me to dance like it was some dumb idea I made up. cos seriously, I have no moves! but the more I dance the more I can see it. I don't know what to think can somebody tell me their opinion, or if they know any versus of the bible I could relate to? ty.

Dancing is definately in the bible, here are a couple of verses to begin with:
Psalm 149:3 - Praise his name with dancing
2 Sam 6 - When they brought the Ark of the Covenant back into Jerusalem, David danced infront of it, even although his wife Michal despised him for it.
Ecc 3:4 - A time to grieve, a time to dance
Personally, I love to dance when I'm worshiping. If you feel that it is something that God wants you to do, then go for it, and do it for the Lord, don't worry about those around you. If it is from God I'm sure you will find your joy, and skill increasing.
Now, I'm not sure you can break dance in church, but even outside of a church situation, if you keep your focus on God, you will be able to dance in a way pleasing to Him. Who knows, you may be the one to reach some of those dancers who never get to hear about God.

Catira Norr Now, I'm not sure you can break dance in church, but even outside of a church situation, if you keep your focus on God, you will be able to dance in a way pleasing to Him. Who knows, you may be the one to reach some of those dancers who never get to hear about God.

if God gives you the spirit then dance away! i wish i could accually stand up. during worship time i usually like to sit down and sing. (it helps my concentration on God) but my pastor thinks im goofing off just sittling there and not jumping up and down like crazy like all the other kids who i know by their actions are NOT worshiping God, but anywho..
the song, "UNDIGNIFIED" is about a king who danced and danced through the streets for God and said to those who questioned him, "If you think this is crazy, you haven't seen anything yet." -^_^- I love that little saying.

Dancing, like many things, is one of those things that, somewhere through the course of history, has been messed with. Big time.
But there's nothing wrong with dancing if you're not trying to get the wrong kinds of attention. 3nodding

Rejoice through your dancing. Give thanks, worship isn't only singing, you can love others, you can serve, and I'm pretty sure you can dance.

When done right (for the right reasons), it is, well, you can't describe it.

then dance God wants us to dance like David did dancing is a sign of free spiritedness and God can speak to you while you dance in ways that are unimaginable

Psalm 150:4 Praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute
Id say that the Bible is ok with dancing...So if you can dance then dance
