Still he wasn't once for too many words, and socially he was rather dumbfounded, he didn't really even speak with his family. Yensid liked to show his feelings instead of chattering about them, when he wanted to let his mother knew he loved her he brought her food. When he wanted to show his brother he cared for him, he let him sleep deeper in the den where it was warmer. Words had little use or meaning for him, and that was that. Fortunately for him he had yet to encounter anyone outside of his family, and thus had no reason to practice his social skills. Unfortunately today he was going to meet a wolf who was completely unrelated.

 There was nothing Keara enjoyed more than playing. Due to leaving her father's pack, she was on her own.. Still, she would chase the butterflies, try to play with rabbits and bark playfully at deer. The second she saw another wolf moving down the path, her head snapped up and her tail wagged a million miles a minute. She might have been an adult, but she really didn't act like it most of the time.
Despite the fact that this wolf could be dangerous, she pranced forward and smiled up at him. "Hi there. I'm Keara!" She chirped to the other with her eyes glowing brightly. One of her paws moved out and jabbed at the other before taking off, expecting to play chase or tag. It would be fun, really~ And maybe she could get him to play, she could use a friend outside of her own family..!

Yensid jerked startled by the sudden appearance of a female, and she was...He backed up shocked as her paw jabbed his shoulder. He raised a brow and watched her move away. Keara? Who was she, what was she doing out here? Was she alone? Yensid felt his dark blue eyes narrow on the cheerful female, how strange. He wasn't quite sure how to respond and slowly sat down watching her curiously.
He wanted to ask her what in the world she thought she was doing, but his lips remained stiff. His shoulder felt strange where she had tapped him with her paw, he wasn't used to being randomly assaulted he supposed. Why was she so...happy? It wasn't that he wasn't happy, but he certainly didn't show it like THIS. His tail gave a few soft wags as if trying to prove that happiness didn't have to be so wild.

A frown tugged at her maw as she saw the male not understanding everything. "I'm just trying to play." Keara assured him as she moved closer and took a seat just in front of him. She wiggled a little in her spot, her tail wagging just as quickly as it had earlier. "We should be friends, yeah? You must not play very often.." She finally whispered, her ears lowering a little.
"Here's how it works." The feminine wolf beamed at him. "See.. I tag you, then I run. Then you chase me and tag me back." Reaching forward, she tagged at the other with her paw before taking off. But she paused half way to wag her tail and see if the other was going to play or not.

Ahhh, tag...yes...well he normally stood aside and played the referee, why did she want to play with him? They were strangers to one another, was she really so bored and alone? Now she wanted to be friends? Goodness she was fast, she made his head spin. He slowly stood as he felt her paw tap him again and moved after her at a casual trot.
"I'm Yensid..." He finally stated his voice soft. "Are you alone?" He tilted his head still confused by her appearance and eagerness.

When he moved after her and spoke, she looked very happy to at least have the other speaking with her. "Yensid.." She finally took a seat, though she seemed to be wiggling a little. "I am alone.. My father has a pack a ways from here. But I wanted to go out and find my own life." She nodded her head a few times, still looking eager and happy despite admiting she was by herself.
"Are you alone? I don't smell anyone with you.."

Yensid was annoyed by her question, despite that he had just asked her the same thing, he wasn't used to being alone. He was used to always having his family there, always being close enough to protect them. He finally nodded stiffly "Yes...I'm alone as well..." The words were hard for him and he felt an ache in his gut, the longing for home. Why had he thought this journey would prove fun or interesting, nothing compared to home.
"You shouldn't be alone, you could get hurt..." He finally added his voice gruff, he looked her over, she was too friendly he decided. She was also too loud, and she probably couldn't defend herself...He frowned then. He should offer to be her escort, but he was still a bit surprised by her appearance at all. His ears fell back when he realized how ashamed his mother would be with his unkindness.

When she realized that the other seemed so upset about being alone, she tilted her head a little. It was true, she didn't love being alone either, but.. She calmed a little bit more as she stared into his eyes. "You look upset." The older wolf frowned a little as she stood up, doing a circle around him before sitting down once more.
"Maybe you should go home?" Her eyes lit up, "Home always makes you feel better.." She lifted her paw to poke at the other again, "I can go with you. To make sure you get there safe. As long as your family wouldn't mind someone going near their territory~"
It was rather.. bold of her to invite herself along, especially when she didn't know if he was even planning to see his family. That's how he was.

Yensid tensed a bit startled by how easily she had read him his features slowly smoothed but his voice was still tense. "I can't go home, I've something important I must do." He finally stated, slowly his manners came to him once again it was as if his mother was there shaking her head at him and reminding him to be polite. "but, thank you for the offer. Where are you heading?"
He wasn't sure why he asked, perhaps because he already knew that he would ask her if she wanted an escort. One couldn't help the manners that had been drummed into them after all. He was mildly amused at how she had thought to keep him safe, true she did seem a bit older then he was...but she hardly looked capable of protecting herself let alone the both of them.

"Where am I going?" She tilted her head, her tail wagging once more, looking happy despite her answer. "Anywhere. No where. I want to see new places, find new things.. Make friends." She nodded her head a bunch. "Uh-huh~ Uh-huh~ And sometimes it's hard. I went onto this one territory and the Alpha almost ate me. Until he learned who my daddy was. A big Alpha too." She smiled proudly at that before getting up to do another circle around the other before sitting in the same place.
"But he can't always protect me. So I need to do it myself. I guess I never learned that well. My momma left when I was reallllllly little." She lowered her nose to the ground as if to show what size she was.
"You have something important to do, huh? Is it a big scary mission?"

"I'm searching for my mothers family, I've never met them but I will find them, and bring them home." He stated and watched her, clearly she was going to need his help. Who knew what kind of danger lurked out in the forests and lands beyond? She had already had an encounter and survived luckily, next time he would be with her to keep her safe.
How simple it was for him to fall into the role of silent protector...now all he had to do was tell her. "Well...you'll come with me then, you'll see everything I see, and I can keep you safe." There was no pride in his voice, no self importance, simply the statement of a fact.

When she heard his words, she paused for a moment before nodding along, instantly and innocently trusting the male despite not knowing him. She just.. didn't know how to not be overly excited and trust other wolves. It's how she was. "All right. That would be a lot of fun~" And she wouldn't have to be alone anymore.
.. She finally had a friend! Her insides were wobbly with excitement as she stood up, bouncing a little in her spot. "Then we should work hard to find your mother's family together! Do you know where they might be? Or how they smell?" She sniffed the air then, as if she could catch a scent magically or something.

He wasn't so sure about the journey being...fun, but he supposed it wouldn't hurt any to let her think so. Maybe she actually enjoyed the subtle change of weather from warm to crispy cool, or she had fun hunting without the help of a pack, or fun sleeping in some makeshift den...ugh he was starting to wonder why he left home at all. Family, he reminded himself his mother had family somewhere out there, unless they were all dead...
He pushed away his bleak thoughts and smiled at her sniffing. "I'm afraid I'll only know their scent once I cross it, and of course once I see them...well our family has interesting markings so I assume our ancestors must as well." All but him...he lacked the graceful rose that blessed his mother, sister, and brother. "Mama said she remembered snow from long ago...and snow usually falls closer to the mountain ranges, so it's north I'll be heading."

"Things are always fun when you have someone with you." She smiled a little over to the other, her child-like innocence shimmering through. It was hard for her to keep herself calm and quiet.. But he seemed to want her as a companion. Or at least he offered it.
When she heard about the snow, she lit up all over againand pranced in another circle. "Snow? I love snow. But I've never been in the high mountains, I would love to go so much." She darted forward and lapped the other's cheek softly. "Thanks so much for taking me with you. But we should get a move on, we have to get to your family right away!"

"I guess, having company helps..." He was startled by her sudden joy at the word snow and tilted his head. Didn't she realize it was cold, icy, and dangerous? The white powder could kill despite it's softness. He looked at her his eyes wide as she lapped his cheek and blinked. Well that was...unexpected...and normally he was so much quicker.
"Well...we're going now..." His voice was still mildly stunned but he brushed it away soon enough. "Come..." He started to head north with an uncanny sense of direction living in an open meadow his whole life left him very hard to disorient, there were no markers in the open.
