Okay, so everyone's done it, but who's got an interesting story about it?
Take me, I've fallen 5 times over the winter. 1st time I was running, slipped and rammed into a band locker! Another time, I was going backwards when the guy infront of me accidentley stepped on my foot, I fell back, my hand landed on my pencil and broke it in half! PX
Also, a guy older then me was marching when he fell, did a summersault and ended up IN HIS DOT!!!!!

So let's here 'em! Fall here, there wherever and whatever way!

Okay well we were on the Feild and we were going through the drill and i went to do this flank move and i turned to fast and knocked me and the dude beside me down.
I was paradeing one day and we were doing the cadence called funk and at the end we do this move that looks like we are falling and we go "opps o no i almost fell" and wehn i did that i got my foot caught in the tuba bell and i fell xD

I tripped during fundamentals once...

And at one point in this year's field show, I have to follow one of my friends while marching backwards. I end up going too slow because I'm afraid I'll run into him xp

I don't do that anymore since he told me not to worry about running into him and to just get to my spot sweatdrop

during drill theres a part where the brass sprint behind a wall and sprint back to a certain spot and stop getting ready to play.it was raining earlier that day so the feild was alittle wet and when we were running to our spots my freind slips he does a split and just falls over it tok him about 12 counts to get up xD

My friend had stopped to tie her shoe and had put her trombone on the ground. Little did she know, our band directer had told the band to go back and march that set again.... Weeell, our Trombone Section leader at that time ended up tripping and landing on her trombone... It was in a perfect "V" shape xD Later, some band parents tried to bend it back into shape... that failed lol

This was a really long time ago though... My friend was only in 7th grade then, and now she's a senior. Thats how long ago it was xD

This horrifying story is still told to underclassmen who stop to tie their shoes lol

several and they all r funny but i'm going to keep them short:

domino effect with the tubas. it was funny cuz the drum major didn't notice all the tubas laying there on the ground and she just kept conducting.

my brother 4 years ago fell during a football game, did a summer-sault, got on his feet, jazz ran to his next dot like nothing ever happened.

christmas parade, me+pothole=bad. i'm very clutzy and even trip over flat surfaces. haha i fell on the clarinet in front of me but didn't knock her over. that was in middle school.

freshman year, i tripped over yet another hole, twisted my ankle, head hit a bass drum, ended up with a minor concussion. i just sat there laughing at first then felt the pain. of course i didn't know how the hell i was on the ground until byork (my band director's nickname) runs to me and asks if i'm ok then carries me and my flute off the field.

Nothing serious for me, a few flubs here and there.

Lets see:
I almost fell over a junior tuba last eyar at bandcamp(freshman yaer) backwards marching 4-5.

The flute section eader freshman year almost killed me and the bari sax next to me because she couldn;'t march her spot(or she though my foot was her spot, not sure...) and my toe was bleeding. One more beata nd I would have been down, and most likely the bari behind me.
So, true, i was not in my spot either, and she yelled at me for not being in my spot, saying she wouldn't have ran me over if I had been in my spot. Well, I wasn't in my spot. I was a step too far. Therefore, she was about 2 3 steps out of her spot, and her iterval was incorrect anyway....

Oh dear.
This wasn't me, but, last year the tubas fell on the field during a show and did a domino effect.

I've never slipped (fortunate, as I'm a tuba player) but one of our seniors did at practice last year.

This is the story as our BD tells it.

He was at the back of the mob of band kids heading out to the feild, and could see this tuba bell sort of dancing over the heads of all the other kids. Then, suddenly, the tuba bell dissapeared and everyone started laughing. He had slipped, and faceplanted in the mud. Tuba was okay, though.

Last year, the ground was kinda wet 'cos it just rained, and well...
I managed to trip backwards right onto a trumpet player. Said trumpet knocked over another trumpet, and it was a kinda-sorta mini domino effect. Heh.
This year, at the end of band camp performance, it decided to rain really hard. (As you can imagine, it was really, really muddy) We performed on our practice field, which has a huge dirt patch, and I tripped over my silk, and into the mud. (Well, everyone else slipped and slid around 'cos of the mud, too. It wasn't fun XD)

Our band show three years ago had a visual effect where we were supposed to fall down. We called it the "Visual of Death" because we started in 5 parallel lines, the first line fell over, the second line stepped over them and then fell over, then the third line stepped over both of those lines and fell over and so forth. So obviously the lines were supposed to fall at the same time and it was an awesome visual effect. Well, I was in the fifth line, meaning that I had to step over the people in the first four lines. It was our evening performance at Band Day (aka. our biggest performance of the year) and I stepped over the people in the first two rows, tripped on the third person, landed ontop of the fourth person and then scrammbled over her to lay down in my spot as the rest of my line fell. Oddly, it doesn't sound like anyone watching really noticed it happening.

Another time I fell that year was during a basketball game. Before the game begins, the pep band spreads out through the basketball stadium and we play our fight song before running to where the band stands to play. I was in group 3, which means that we ran down the stairs and across the side of the basketball court. Unfortunately, the team is usually out practicing and the news crews are doing their interviews and such before the game and we have to run between them. Well, we were running and then one of the basketball players stepped into my path. I jumped to the side to avoid running into him and got my foot caught in a camera cable. Thus, I tripped and faceplanted in the middle of the basketball stadium.

Another time I fell that same year was also during a basketball game. When we play "Band Yell" we scatter and get as far from our seats as we can. During a Man's Basketball game, that pretty much means I run up the stairs. So I was following a tuba player up the stairs and he stops early and then the trumpet behind me stopped on the step just below me. So I was left with only one of the skiny stairs to do visuals on. (Our stairs are uneven so we have a wide stair then a skiny stair and the pattern repeats.) So during one part, we jump up and down and I was jumping, my foot missed the stair and I fell right into the people sitting on the aisle. Luckily, no one was hurt and I was able to go right back to playing but it felt super embarrassing.

Of course, I'd be the one in my band to fall during a competition...the field was really bad and a little wet, and I have this huge move to do right before our jazz running block. When I did my direction change to go into the jazz run, my foot slid across the ground, and I fell on my thumb...and fell again when trying to get up. I don't know how many counts of that set I missed but it was horrible, and I'm pretty sure that anyone watching the show would've noticed. To top it off, when we were putting our instruments away, somehow the fact that I had fell had spread to most of the band already, and one of our tuba players decided to tell me how he almost tripped on me...and he did this when I was crying, too. When we were going back to the stadium after our performance, I could hear him telling a color guard member how I had only fallen because of a bad foot placement, and that I basically deserved it.

    Ugh. I feel miserable.
