The room is bizarrely lacking in a source of light, doors, or windows, but everything can be seen clearly. There is a refrigerator inside, and things that seem to be easy to overlook.

Elizabeth's profound statement made Clarissa worry. "You...need to lay down. Your arm's broken," she saw the swelling of the arm. She looked at Helena with a slight frown. "I know some first aid," more like memorized the medical journals "and she needs to lay down. I'mma need your help for that," she slurred. She herself couldn't do a thing with her arm mangled as it was. But I can tell her what she needs to do. This will make sure I don't fall asleep, too.

"Once we lay her down, we need to sterilize the wound. Should be some alcohol in the med kit. We shouldn't try to realign the bones 'cause we don't know how badly the bone is fractured. But we can put it in a splint to keep it from getting worse...I got a couple o' books in the bag," she slowed down at the last few words. After a pause, she kept going. "You can use 'em for a splint - rip 'em or just open 'em and find something to wrap 'em tight around her arm. Pants should work." I can't feel my fingers. Isn't that a bad sign? "Buuuuut...if we can't splint it, then get a shirt out of the bag and wrap that ice in it. It'll help the swelling some. Then we're gonna need to elevate her legs some - so we can wrap the bag an' put it under her feet. Might help with the breathin'." It was amazing that she could still remember all this while her cloud of pain. Good thing for photo....graphic memory.

She wasn't at all sure if Helena was doing what she said. She didn't even really care if she was just repeating what Helena may have already known. This is gonna keep me up. I dunno what's wrong with my face. I can't feel my arm except for the pain in my shoulder. But I gotta stay awake. 'Cause I dun wanna die... Hopefully, Helena didn't mind.

The bandages conveniently concealed besides the refrigerator seemed like an excellent alternative to wasting a perfectly good pair of pants on such a thing.

Helena realized she was the only truly functional person in this group. Such a realization-- and the power that it gave to her-- pumped more adrenaline into her system. She was excited... No, intense. She had a purpose and was driven to do everything within her abilities to care for the pair of women.

Glancing over by the fridge, she noticed two items that had not been seen before: a bottle of painkillers and bandages. She crawled to the fridge and dragged the medical supplies back to Clarissa. "Just hang in there," she said in a gentle, perhaps motherly tone. "I'm gonna drag Elizabeth over here." Slowly, she stood and walked slowly to Elizabeth's side. "Hey, Elizabeth. I'm going to drag you over to Clarissa's side so I can help you both. This'll probably hurt, but I don't want your arm dragging on the ground." The artist knelt and grasped the broken arm by the elbow and wrist. Trying her best to ignore the unnerving and inhuman feel of the bones and muscle shifting in ways they never should, the arm was laid across Elizabeth's waist. Grasping Elizabeth by the ankles now, Grissom slowly dragged her toward the miniature fridge-- had it always been that size?-- and propped her feet upon its top. Now Clarissa and Elizabeth were perpendicular, forming a broken 'T' with Clarissa serving as the base. Kneeling at Clarissa's right, Helena could reach the fridge, Clarissa, and Elizabeth all with ease.

She took a quick moment to go over what Clarissa had said: Legs up, sterilize, splint, ice. She had to do something for the amateur medic before she went through that, so she opened the fridge and there stood three tall glasses of water: just what the doctor ordered. "Claire," she said, unconsciously giving the fellow host a nickname, "I'm gonna give you some painkillers before I get Elizabeth situated. There's more than enough for both of you." With one hand Helena cradled Clarissa's head and with the other she offered three painkillers with the glass of water.

Before the painkillers could be ingested, Helena felt a sort of pulse, one that echoed throughout their little group. Helena suddenly felt fine, the pain in her back now entirely gone; the same pulse pushed the pain in Elizabeth and Clarissa's bodies back, way back, so that it was a dull throb instead of a blinding pain.

They were still far from functional, but rational thought was now much more accessible.

The blinding pain started to dull, but it wasn't enough to keep her from needing the offered medicine. Clarissa would have refused the painkillers, but she had little strength to do so. With some concentration, she swallowed the pills and hoped the side effects wouldn't take too long. "Thank you...Helena." Elizabeth and Helena - one reminded her of a mother and the other reminded her of her older brother. It was very bittersweet irony.

"Once you're done with her, I'll do your back if you want," Clarissa offered. The logical part of her mind was telling her that she needed to get her own arm in a splint and someone to tell exactly what happened to her face. I'd really hate to suffer from cranial damage. She lightly felt the side of her face - it was swollen. When she pulled it away, she found blood. Well that's not good.

"Hehe. You remind me of family. Or what family should do," she rambled. What am I saying? Why can't I stop talking? It seemed the pills were addling with her mind; that or her head injury was a lot worse than she anticipated it to be. "My family never liked me. I dunno what family does. Is this what families do for each other? 'Cause they never did it for me. They...that was my family..." Clarissa's ramblings got softer and harder to understand. Darnit...I don't want to talk about this. I need to shut up! The last thing she said before she went silent was, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said all that." Maybe I should go to sleep. It's too much trouble to stay awake.

Indeed, Clarissa felt incredibly tired. Sleep seemed to be the best idea right now. The pain was gone, her muscles relaxing...

Clarissa fell into a light sleep. It began to deepen as time went.

((Came from here.))

The ceiling of the room suddenly split open, and The Thief casually landed on the ground besides them. The Hosts were all set down gently, if not necessarily on their feet.

"Alright. So not a total success, but good enough. I managed to save you all, which was a bit tricky, but we have everyone, right?"

"My arm aches," Elizabeth moaned quietly. She didn't seem to notice the tears that were still on her face from when she'd been dragged. She was probably in too much pain to notice at the time. "But not so bad," she added, dull realization penetrating her delirium. She strained to lift her head a little. "What's... who are you?" she asked the Thief, laying her head against the floor again.

"Ah, right... you're injured. And damnation am I tired," he added. There was sweat on his brow for the first time they'd seen it. "I'm the gentleman who rescued you, recall? Looks like I'll need to start doing some healing... easy enough." He bent down over Elizabeth, and colors began flowing down his hand - true visible light... then bouncing off. The Thief's brow clouded. "I hadn't predicted this... that's useless. Well... at the least I can continue to provide whatever you need."

It became apparent that the room was much lighter - almost naturally bright - with The Thief inside of it.

"I like your cloak," the still-disoriented Elizabeth replied.

Great philosopher, she was.

"As you bloody well should," The Thief muttered still bent over her. "Weird. You folks seem to be resistant. That... complicates things." He stood up, running a hand across his face to wipe the sweat clean. "At least I can tell you confidently you're not going to die... whatever the hell this is, it's certainly not harmful.

"Which brings me to another question. Do you have questions for me? I suppose I owe you a bit of an explanation, since you've no idea who I am or where I come from."

"Well, then, who are you and where do you come from? And where'd you get your cloak?" Elizabeth replied with a giggle.

Jesse sat up quickly, sucking in a deep breath as if it were the first one he'd had in hours. As his eyes adjusted, the only thing he could see was a bit of light, and blurred faces. He could hear nothing but his own heart beat thundering within his ears.

"Wha...?"

He suddenly clutched at his chest, feeling a wall of pain settle down on him as the memory of what happened what seemed moments before came fleeting back into his mind. The face of Agent R was fresh in his mind. His vision restored, along with his hearing. He saw the others were sitting around in this rather large room. At least, for the moment, they were safe. Thats when he began to replay the events that took place after Agent R engaged him on a personal level.

"Did he... hit me?" he asked in a labored voice. "Where am I? What the hell just happened?"

Jesse was beginning to lose his own control as things didnt' make any sense. This had been the problem for him since day one. Nothing at all made any kind of sense to him.
