Zuberi was out an about in the pack lands. He was starting to learn about being a scout and what it meant. He was growing up now and he needed to be an active contributor to the pack, or at least that was what he thought was expected of him. The pack was well meaning, and would never call him out like that, it wasn't the way, but even though Strongear told himself that laying around all night was ok, and leaving the pack lands to meet others was a good use of time, deep down inside he had a little guilty feeling that he had left it so long.
As he walked through the land and underneath Farther Tree, he spotted another wild dog he was interested in talking to. Her blue pelt helped him find her tonight. He had never met Moonbug but he had heard of her, she was a scout someone that Zuberi felt he should talk to. Not only could she be useful in the career aspect, but well she wasn't bad looking. Zuberi was often drawn to bright colors and her blue coat was very appealing, his family was all brown and a little pink.
He strolled up to the wild dog full of confidence, confidence wasn't something he lacked. "Good evening Moonbug. I was wondering if I could steal some time from you." he said to her in a smooth voice, he was very charming (or so he thought) when he wanted to be.

Moonbug was an equally confident young wild dog. Older than the approaching adolescent, though not by too much, she was well established in the pack she had been born into. Some would say Moonbug was prepared for her role as an adult in the pack from the moment the pup had opened her eyes in her birthing den. Her petite form was ideal for slipping through the underbrush and scrambling up the low branches of trees, but her agility made her an ideal protector simultaneously.
And she knew it. Moonbug had embraced the role her body had been so well manufactured to fill; taking advantage of every opportunity to prove herself worthy of the position. Was she the best? She liked to think so, but arrogance wasn't something that did well in a pack setting. Instead, she was confident at least that she fulfilled her duties adequately.
She was aware of the adolescent in her periphreal and flicked an ear in his direction. She was watching the pups of another wild dog as they played along a ditch, alert in case that one should fall on their unsteady paws. A bemused smile pulled across her features as Zuberi's words reached her ears and she turned her head towards him. His apparent charm was amusing, and she arched a brow, intrigued, as he requested time with her. "Of course, Zuberi." She knew his mother, and his name came to her muzzle readily.

Zuberi, or rather Strongear as he was more often called around the pack, he tended to go by both names, and he travelled outside the pack so much that he often used his given name because others asked fewer questions. However around the pack it was less common her heard Zuberi, he liked it though he smiled.
"How are you this evening Moonbug." he asked the female smiling. It was rare that you would find a dog in the pack who wasn't in a good mood, the way the pack often operated left most rather happy and comfortable, they were all a big family. Strongear strived on this feeling of a large family, he had a lot of love to share, something he felt he had gotten from his mother.

She hadn't actually meant to refer to him by his given name, as his pack name had momentarily darted from her mind. She only knew his given name because his own mother had slipped on occasion when she had first joined them, and immediately Moonbug felt a bit of shame rise in her throat before she could swallow it down. None of it touched her face, and she didn't even think of apologizing as she slid easily into the conversation as if nothing had ever been amiss. Nothing, truly, was considering that he had neglected to draw attention to the issue at all.
Inclining her head as if considering the question, her lips pursed in mock thought for a moment before spreading again in a slow smile. Her eyes spark, "I'm quite well, actually. And what of you? Wandering?"

"Yes I suppose you can say that I am wondering. But in truth it is how I spend most my days." Zuberi shuffled his feet on the ground looking down he was kind of ashamed by is lack of involvement in the pack.
"I don't have much to do it seems these days. Its the odd transistion from a pup to an adult." he looked at Moonbug, she was older then him but not by much he didn't think she would have recently experienced this rather odd change as well... but now she was an adult and adult who was useful.
"I hope that I am not keeping you from anything." he moved closer to her, his body language was very flirty, he did it all subconsciously. He enjoyed being around females, and his body language often showed it.

She watched his shame with some level of amusement, knowing it was not great enough to hinder him too much. He would bounce back, they all did. Moonbug didn't dwell long on things usually, not being the type of wild dog to be stuck on insignificant nuances. Inclining her head to one side, she considered his response but didn't comment on it.
It was a bit strange he wasn't glorifying his situation; males typically didn't make light of themselves, especially when they were exhibiting the body language he was. Her brow arched and she snorted delicately, "It's odd because you need to decide on what you're going to do with yourself and get started." She almost called him 'pup', but kept it in check. She knew that it might stung and she wasn't in for hurting feelings today.
Besides, he was amusing. Watching him move closer, her features softened as her lips curled in a patient smile. "You aren't." Her eyes drifted towards the litter she was watching with a gentle shrug, "I'm adept at multi-tasking."

Strongear relaxed when he saw her expression soften, no longer worried that he was bothering her. He felt drawn to her he wanted to know more. He was a little uneasy about what to talk to her about. He didn't want her to get the wrong impression.
Taking the safe route for now at least he decided pack, the pack was a great thing to talk about something they had in common, "So you are a Scout... I think I am going to be a scout. Do you think you could tell me more about it?" He smiled settling himself, it wasn't really want to talk about but he didn't overly know how to flirt yet, he was aware of the urges, just not how to express them.

She considered him carefully, eyes carelessly glancing over his youthful form that had just lost the plumpness of puppyhood and was easing into the length and firmness of adulthood. Noticing his posture relax, a soft smile tugged at the corner of her lips before she let her gaze travel absently back towards the pups she was 'pup'sitting. All seemed well enough. That one was tugging on the other's ear pretty hard...
At the sound of his voice, she blinked slowly and then turned to look at him fully once more. For a moment or two she considered his question, hesitating only a brief instant longer before replying, "For one, as I said, you'd got to be pretty good at multi-tasking." Her smile broadened, inclining her head slightly towards him in a companionable manner, "You've got to have a sharp eye to watch out for danger to the pack, or to yourself."

Strongear listened to her thoughts and ideas on being a scout, it sounded interesting to him, something right up his isle. Adventure, danger always being on guard. His younger nature came out in him as he dreamed of all the fun things he might encounter as a scout, "Seems amazing" he said with a smile to Moonbug, he didn't want her to see his young side, he wanted her to think of him as a possibility for romance.
Turning his attention towards the pups that she had been watching, Strongear adored pups, he found them refreshing and entertaining. "Are they your pups?" he asked her quietly gesturing towards the litter playing not to far from them.

"It is" She mused quietly in agreement, ear flicking gently as a butterfly passed by. Her eyes were bright and alert, easily dividing her attention between the young male and her charges. Absently she wondered if perhaps she should intervene between the two that were wrestling nearby, but the one that seemed to have the upper hand soon had the tables turned on him and the two scrambled off to play with their siblings instead of beating up on one another. Some part of her was pleased: she hated to get involved.
His question made her start and she shook her head with a soft laugh, "Oh, no. I don't have any cubs of my own." She chuckled and shrugged, "Another hazard of being a scout: often times you end up as pupsitter. Pups find it especially hard to escape and get into mischief with a scout on them."

Strongear chuckled to himself as he watched the young ones play around with each other. "Truly there must be worse things to have to deal with, I mean pups are so much fun." Strongear said, smiling. Strongear was a happy go lucky dog, who enjoyed pups greatly.
"Do you ever wish you had pups of your very own?" Strongear asked Moonbug. His mind although mostly focused on the biological process that led to pups, he was also finding his mind drifting into dreams of having his own pups. It was the wonderful that the pack was so open to non-traditional families. It made the whole thing more simple in his mind.

Moon, too, let her eyes trail back to the rambunctious pups that were rolling about and tackling one another nearby. Her brows arched as one took a nasty bite out of his sister's ear, but considering that the answering yelp was short enough and the sister seemed ready with her own retaliation, Moon didn't see reason to intervene just yet. Let them squabble on their own, it built charater as adults for the pups to deal with their own altercations and stick up for themselves with their siblings both physically and mentally.
"They are, especially seeing what sort of trouble they can get into." Moon mused, "So long as no one gets hurt."
At his question, her bright eyes snapped back to him and she snorted, "I don't wish it, but I wouldn't mind it." It didn't take long for her to know where any young adolescent boy's mind would go and her lips quirked in a small smile. Rolling her eyes gently, and kindly, she shook her head, "I don't waste time wishing. If it happens, it happens." That was a lie. There were days she did wish it, but in general...

Srongear smiled her answer hadn't been a no, but it wasn't a yes either. His teenage mind wondered to where most male minds tended to be. "I like pups a lot." he said kind of to himself.
Strongear watched the group of pups play amongst themselves, it made him smile great a deal. Strongear loved pups and as much as he loved being all grown up, or at very least almost grown up, he missed the days of being a pup, of carefree play with his siblings.
He turned and smiled at Moonbug, "I am glad that I met you." he told the female. He rose to his feet, "I must get going now though, I do hope that we run into each other again." he told her a sly smile on his face, Strongear was a flirt through and through there was no doubt about it.

She watched him process her response, and laughed quietly at his private admittance. She wasn't so sure whether he only liked what led to pups, or if he liked the pups as well - or if he liked one more than the other and in that case she could guess which. Her eyes slid over the pups she was attending almost unconciously; she would like to have pups of her own at some point, though she wasn't one to plan ahead, really.
Arching a brow at him as he stood to leave, she didn't bother unfolding her own legs. Instead she nodded and batted her eyelashes at him jokingly, "I hope we do, as well, Strongear... run into each other, I mean." She winked then chuckled under her breath as she turned back to the nearby pups.
She'd have to keep an eye on that one, she would.
