My parents and I worked out an agreement: for every 10 minutes I practice, I get $1 to go to a new flute. I've had my old one since 5th grade (I'm in 8th grade now) but now I'm playing in a few select bands, so I need a nicer flute. : )

SO, BNG:
How long have you had the instrument you usually play on?
Do you need a new instrument?

Clarinet since 5th grade, in 10th(wow, 5 years0.o Didn't realize) I've had my current one since 6th or 7th grade, I can't remeber. I love her with a passion,a nd even the seniors last year said it was an amazing clarinet. Yeah, that is a long story. If anyone is freaking out, they used their own mouthpiece, just my instrument. Again, long story.

Anyways, I probalby will never replace Claribelle, though Herbert might be a concert clarinet for special occasions, if we ever get him fixed. $2000 estimate to get him fixed. claribelle only cost 1000. I can get another claribelle and together they would be the price of getting herbert fixed. But, a 60 year old clarinet that has been passed down from my mom's oldest sibling to my mom(second youngest out of 6) is a it hard to resist. And I am saying at least 60. It might be older. And it is french, and wooden. Maybe when I become a veterinarian I will be able to afford to fix it, but who knows.

I've had my clarinet since 6th. Last time I went to go play it the stupid thing crumbled in my hands. Now there's really no way I can get it fixed without paying big money. crying

Flute from 3rd to 9th. and i def need a new 1 but my parents arent rich and other wise waste the money so not gona happen. Piano is okay, its old but my dad taught me how to tune it. need a new guitar (2nd to 9th). and thats about it. but my parents r to cheap to work out a deal for it or even pay for new stuff. and the only way id get my new guitar is if my dad takes another gig.

I've had my sax since fourth grade, so that's...six years. I've played on much better saxes, but this one's good for marching band, which is all I use it for. The oboe I'm using is a school instrument, but I'm looking into getting my own.

I have one of the good saxes from the school. So far, one of the best horns I played on. Though I did borrow someone else's saxophone for a jazz rehearsal as AJ (short for Aravis June, even school horns deserve names) was on the fritz. She was prolly stressed out or something. that persons sax was, like, amazing. Which is why I've been wanting a Yamaha, but I don't know now. Anyways, if you need a new horn, GO MAN, GO!!!!

I'm a gunner at heart, Chief of the Gunz. TG3 Gunz.

I've had my flute since grade 5, I'm going into grade8, but I really need a new one since it was thrown across the drill deck (very far) Horribly messed up now..

....... But a bandsman too.

I've played flute since 6th grade - I had a Geminhardt 2SP. about $450

I got a new one at the end of my 10th grade year - Yamaha 361 Series with a sterling silver head joint. about $1000

Then I bought a new head joint near the end of my Senior year - Handmade Sterling Silver Amadeus with a 14K gold wall. $700 (which I paid for myself! >_<)

And I also bought my piccolo near the end of my junior year I think - Yamaha 62C Gendella Wood - $900 used... about $2000 new @.@ (Bargain! Hellz yeah!)
