[AIM Log - Randy2Love (Adetokunbo), Seaki (Janja), & Polette (Uzuri)]
Randy2Love Adeto moved through the under growth with determined eyes. He wanted to make sure the hunt was sucessful for his new family. He lifted his head just slightly, listening with his large ears. Yes, there was an impala herd up ahead. He did a quiet servay before stepping back and running back toward the two females with his tail held high like a flag.
"I found some." He said as he skidded to a stop. "There's a herd of impala not to far away. They have a youngster we can probably take down easily enough."

Seaki Janja's ears swiveling in the direction of the herd. She heard the small hooves on the ground and the smell of prey they permeated the air. She gave a yip in agreement and closely followed her mate. Her ears went back and fortch listening to the sounds and urged herself not to work alone like she had to in the past.
"Adeto, will you lead this hunt? Or..." She questioned softly in a low growling voice. Her gaze turned to Uzuri.

Polette She had to admit, she wasn't overly comfortable with trusting someone else to lead a hunt. In fact, Uzuri had never hunted with anyone other than her mother. But she felt that she had to trust this new male, even though they had just met. He made her mother happy, and that's all that mattered, right?
"Go ahead." She flicked her nose forward, staying in the back while the two older dogs took the front of the group. This would prove to be an interesting experience, if only for herself.

Randy2Love Adeto glanced at the two of them while they worked things out. He wasn't about to tred on a mother-daughter tradition if they hunted together. He waited until he had the go ahead from Uzuri and nodded. "I can lead. I'll admit I'm used to hunting by myself but my family and I hunted together before they died." He responded turning to face the herd. "Drive them toward me. I'll wait to the south and ambush the youngster." He said picking one of the easier tatics. It would at least do them well. South was down wind anyway he just had to make sure the others weren't seen. "Be careful not to get kicked." He murmered as he lowered his head.

Seaki The more natural-colored dog of the group gave a nod and started silently around the herd. Her eyes twinkled lightly at her daughter and she gave a grin. "Let go," Janja pushed her way through some of the higher grass and started skulking around the herd and watching them for any notice of her.
A frown graced her maw as she watched the small fawn and calves. She almost felt bad, but it was the way of life.

Polette Hesitat first, Uzuri followed Janja through the grass. She crouched down, eyeing some of the larger animals in the herd. She had always hated impala, as well as gazelle, for having the tendency of kicking her in the nose. She felt no remorse for what they were going to do. Killing things had always been a way of life, especially when she was alone as a pup. Nothing could take away the feeling of chasing something with intent to kill.
"Do you want me to take the far side?" she referred to the other half of the herd, so no stragglers would get loose. It would also make her feel a little more comfortable about hunting with others, as she would be a little more seperated from them.

The male of the group thought for a moment. "Yes, yes that will work fine. I will be waiting." He gazed over to her then to Janja watching her creep through the grass. Such a lovely thing. He had a mate and a child.
But now was not the time to dwell. He shifted his body downward and made his way to hide himself. The tall grass did well to ambush his terribly strange colored body. Its why he'd chosen night. His coloration mattered very little at night.
He swung his head to lock eyes with Uzuri and to sniff out Janja's position. It was an old tactic to be sure but it was true and withstood the test of time. All he had to do was snap his jaws around one of their legs.

Janja found a good point in the herd, and crouched low, watching her daughter go a bit further then herself. Red-brown eyes glittered in anticipation of the hunt, adrenaline already shooting through her body - she was shaking.
She watched the impala again, they were fast, but their tactic was sure to work - at least, she hoped it would.

Eying the others one last time, Uzuri flexed her toes, preparing to run fast and hard. She had decided that she would go ahead an start; with a deep breath, she let out a low growl, that soon turned into a snarling bark. It was something she knew would get the herd moving towards Adeto- she had faith in his tactics.
She waited just a few moments, to create a safe bubble between herself and the impala, so she wouldn't get trampled or kicked. Her blue eyes continuously flicked back and forth between Janja and her destination where Adeto lay in wait. She actually smiled, having fun chasing the fickle impala across the plains.

The heard lifted up their heads at the bark, unease settling in the group. A few of them started then as a general group they started to move forward in uncertainty away from the sound, searching for the source. It wasn't much but they were moving.
Adeto crouched preparing his body for the strike. He had his gaze focused not on the herd but on the one he targeted. Unless another opportunity arose that would be the one he took down. He bristled his fur and dug his claws into the ground.
Wait for it...

Janja darted around after focusing her eyes on the general area her mate was staring. Her eyes had drifted, and she darted towards dashing outwards and towards the area away from Adeto.
She knew this tactic to drive some towards and away at the same time. The close ones would shove towards the target, and the others would break away and skatter.
Still, she kept running and snapping and barking at the beasts to reduce the number. She was ready to turn at any second and help with the prey.

Still running, Uzuri felt her lungs heave as she ran harder. She wasn't all that tired, but the air felt hard and stale to her.
Eying Janja, she knew they were getting close to the end. By this point, it was just up to Adeto to close in on their kill. There wasn't much else for Uzuri herself to do but keep chasing.

Sure enough the herd as though unprivy to the old tatic did exactly what the dogs wanted them to do. They split and the one Adeto was targeting opened himself up to an attack.
Adetokunbo took it. He shot off from his hiding spot and latched to the young animals neck. It bucked and cried out trying to get him off and succeeded once before the powerful animal had him again, this time bulldozing him to the ground. It was a decent battle but after a few large kicks and swipes the creature stilled.
The wild dog hesitated before lifting up his head to bark his family over. They'd won.

Janja slowed, panting from the exhilarating chase and expending her breath barking at the herd to break them up. It was easy and quick - easier than if it had been done alone. The tan-orange dog gave a yip in response to her significant other and trotted first to her daughter to see how she was doing.
She smiled at her daughter. "How was that?" she commented as they moved their way to Adeto and the kill.
