The day seemed to be drawing to an end. While the sun wasn't due to set for many hours, life just seemed to slow at this point of the day. Mauja strolled, dragging his paws just a bit, loving the feeling of the cool dirt between his toes. He didn't mind much the fact that he was alone for the day, which was a tad strange, seeing as how he always craved someone to be by his side. Many things about him had changed in the time he was away from his home.
Twirling around a tree that stood in his way, the smile that lightly touched Mauja's face was an eerie sight to behold. Feeling drained, he shook his head, falling backwards onto the ground. The sun had really fried his brain today, and it was.....well, downright creepy.

The tree had been inviting and, while it wasn't exactly normal for cheetahs to be up in the air, the lowest branch had been close enough to the ground that it had been cub's play. The neon cat had leapt deftly into the crook between branch and trunk before stretching out along the wood and digging her claws into the bark. The dry leaves above provided adequate shade from the sun and Ua had napped away the hours after her early morning meal. The carcass had been left a good quarter mile away from her resting place, where the vultures could pick it clean or the hyenas could gnaw the bones - so long as she was left along, she didn't care.
When the other cat moved around the tree, Ua opened an eye and flicked an ear but didn't draw attention to herself. She was enjoying the silence and her own drowsy state. The thump of a solid body hitting the ground drew her attention, however, and her eyes widened when they found that the aforementioned feline had fallen. Considering for only a moment, Ua's innate desire to play heroine kicked in and she slipped from the tree to approach the brown cheetah. Peering down at him, she inclined her head, "Are you alright?"

It probably wasn't the best idea for him to have just flopped down somewhere before assessing his surroundings. He could've been attacked, maimed, or......eaten. Flicking his eyes open at the sound of a female's voice, he was momentarily blinded by the sunlight peering through a hole in the leaves. He rolled his head to the side, focusing in on the stunningly bright figure that loomed over him. Ears perked, he smiled, overjoyed that such a creature would come up to him.
"I am now, sweetheart." Mauja's eyes were slightly squinted still as he leaned up into a sitting position. He flexed his toes a bit, pulling his claws in and out, and flicked his long tail back and forth. He was eyeing the bright pink female, trying to figure why he hadn't noticed such a beautiful thing when he first came up towards the tree. I mean, she was like a heavenly beacon to this lonely wandering cheetah.

There were plenty of things that Ua's overactive imagination had expected. Torn between the undeniable tug of adulthood and the appealing romance of childhood, the stories that her mind kicked out weren't always the most sane but strangely enough this was... nothing like what she had expected. Surely he should have fainted in a swoon or something; her mind grappled with the idea that this was a male and not a 'damsel in distress'. He had swooned, hadn't he?
And yet here he was looking her over as if nothing were the matter at all. A bit taken off guard, she let her hind legs fold beneath her abruptly as her face took on some sort of a mix between disappointment, shock and confusion. "Oh..." Her tail flicked back and forth for a moment at the tip as she considered, and then she stood again and turned to go back towards the tree, determining the story to have been a false start in the end. "Well, that's good then." She didn't intend to be rude, and she shook her ears out before the adult side of her mind won over. Turning again, suddenly, she offered with a shy smile, "I'm Ua, by the way."

"You sound disappointed, love." He smiled, shaking his head to rid his fur of some loose dirt and sand. "Were you hoping that I was hurt? 'Cause I'll play doctor with you if you want." winking, he flopped back onto the dirt, jutting his tongue out for a brief moment. Watching her turn, he slid his slender tail over next to her, coiling it around one of her paws loosely.
"Ua is such a gorgeous name, darling. It fits you perfectly." Mauja's expression was cool, with a smirk drifting on his maw. His ear twitched, and he wondered why she seemed so uniterested in him. Even though Mauja was a fairly modest cheetah, it just seemed odd that she wasn't totally wrapped up in him. Well, he could change that, now couldn't he? "I'm Mauja....." he rolled onto his stomach and startet to lift himself from the ground once more. "....by the way." He walked closer to her, moving his body directly in front of hers.

The touch of his tail around her paw made her pause as her brows arched curiously, unused to this sort of interaction. He seemed slick, like a serpent, but not all together unpleasant. Simply... strange; she wasn't used to this sort of interaction. Typically Ua could play her part of heroine quite well: she wasn't used to being any sort of 'damsel' in the story.
"Oh, no, I'm glad you're alright I was just..." She wasn't sure how to put it, and mumbled the rest of her response as he stood, "Hoping for a little adventure to ease the boredom..." Maybe it'd be good to play one for awhile. She shifted her weight from one forepaw to the other as he approached and placed himself before her. Again, her pretty eyes brightened as she lifted her head and arched a brow. A slow smile curled her features as she replied, "Thank you, and it's nice to meet you."

"Just.....?" It was different for him, too, this kind of interaction. A healthy change, one might say. Mauja probably needed to be around this sort of female, if only for a short while. His current tactics and attitude was far too outgoing and in-your-face for this type of cheetah that stood before him.
"So you were hoping for some adventure, aye?" His expression turned sweet; it would be nice to do something exciting to spice up his dull wandering. "And what kind of adventure suit your lovely tastebuds?" Raising a brow, he leaned his head down slightly so he was at perfect eye level with Ua. He was almost worried about any adventures she had in mind, but the anxiety was more like butterflies in his stomach. A good thing.

Ua's interaction with males were relatively few and far between, especially with those even remotely her own age. Her developement, you could say, was a bit slow. Torn between adult desires and childhood dreams, she often appeared confused or frustrated when even the slightest thing was beyond her grasp. She appeared very much so now. This Mauja was... different.
Her brows arched as she sat suddenly; her rump hitting the ground with a soft noise. Turning her head slightly to one side, she considered his question thoroughly before letting her eyes drift somewhere above his head, "Any sort of adventure, really..." Her tail curled around her forepaws, resting gently across her toes as she tried to appear at ease and less... uncomfortable.

"Just anything, love?" Mauja smiled, circling around the pink female. He was experienced in dealing with females, but not the sweet ones like this. She was genuinely cute. His tail flicked back and forth as he thought to himself, and he stopped after he had come full circle around her.
"Why don't you be my princess for a little while?" He leaned the front of his body down, stretching his paw out in a bow. "Come play with me, my princess." Rising up, he almost bounced a few feet away, turning back and looking at her, wanting for her to follow. He wasn't quite sure what kind of adventure they'd have, but he wanted to at least give it a try, before he tried anything.
