Rawr padded along the forest floor, his nose almost touching the ground as he followed the scent of the wounded deer. His stomach growled with hunger. He'd not been part of a pack for nearly two moons, ever since the shadow-walkers had visited his old packlands and taken the Alpha, Alphress, and Commander.
Quite suddenly he came across another scent- wolf.

Okay so maybe Raiel hadn't been paying attention to where she was going. It wasn't her fault that that the deer had gotten wounded and she was starving. She had been banned from her old pack for allegedly killing the Commander even though she knew it was someone else. If only she hadn't gone out that night. Then she'd be happy, back in her old pack with her family. But now she was starving and hopefully, not in some pack's territory.
She lifted her head to look around in the clearing she was in. The sky was visible and as she felt a breeze blow around her she picked up a scent she wished she had not, because nearby was a wolf.

Rawr stood still for a few seconds, then dashed into the nearest bushes. It only smelled like one wolf, but who was to say there wasn't a pack downwind of him? A pack, he figured, would not be very friendly to him. He peeked out of the bushes toward the source of the scent.
The wolf had blood on her. Rawr trembled in fright.

Raiel then picked up the sound of someone,something in the bushes. She turned her head to try and pick up from where it came from, knowing very well about wolves that had the ability to camouflage into foliage like bushes. Fortunately for her, this wolf didn't.
Raiel easily spotted him in the bushes, his coloring standing out from the green leaves. Was he.. trembling? What was so scary about her? Looking down at her paw she suddenly got why. Then her logic kicked in. If there was one wolf, there could be many more on the way. A whole pack even and she was out in the open. Raiel froze in place.

She had noticed him. Dear sweet Faith-Bringer, she was looking right at him. Rawr backed away, head held low, tail tucked, and (((stubbeh))) ears flicked back in submission. Terrified, he tried to think of a way to escape. Then he noticed that she, too, looked afraid.
"Hello?" He whimpered, hoping she wouldn't savage him.

Stubby ears. He had stubby ears. This was the first thing Raiel noticed about him, when she saw him back out of the bush. She flicked her ears back also, terrified of being attacked by anything that may also come looking for him if he was part of a pack.
What caught Raiel off guard was question. She had been expecting for him to alert someone but this... was unexpected. "Er.. Hello." she replied back nervously, hoping that this wouldn't turn into anything fight related.

Seeing that she had not attacked yet, Rawr raised his head, though he kept his tail tucked. For a few seconds he just watched her, then, cautiously, he spoke.
"Um...you," he struggled for words, "...is that your blood?"

"My... blood?" Raiel asked confused. She wasn't bleeding anywhere last she checked. Then she suddenly got what he was asking about. "Oh no it's not my blood. Or anyone's blood. It's just red.. stuff. I dunno what it is I've had it.. for awhile. " She said quickly, trying to explain before she made a fool out of herself.
"So.. uh."Raiel wondered if she should ask if he had a pack. If he said yes she could probably escape into the forest before he could go get it or anyone to help him. And it was a pretty big forest, if she traveled fast enough and stayed low she could probably escape from any harm.
"Do.. Do you have a pack?" she asked, deciding to risk it.

Not blood, he thought, uh-huh. He wasn't sure he believed her, but there wan't much he could do about it. He tilted his head slightly in confusion.
A pack. She wanted to know if he had a pack. Was she preparing to attack him? He shuddered.
"Uh..." he wondered if he should say yes, if that would protect him. "Er... not currently?"

Raiel let out her breath, glad she didn't have anything to worry about. No pack meant no quick death for herself, a fact she had kept to heart for quite sometime.
'But a lone wolf can be just as dangerous.' a voice said in her brain, something Raiel hadn't considered in her short meeting. But what if she started to travel with him? It would eliminate some threat of being attacked by other wolves and well... "He's kinda handsome." she thought sheepishly while looking at him.
"Well that's one thing we have in common, no pack." Raiel replied, a small smirk on her face. "By the way.. what's your name? Mine's Raiel."
She was quite tired of referring to him as "wolf" in her mind and she wanted something else, even if it was absolutely ridiculous.

She had no pack. He was safe, safe, safe- unless she was stronger than him, of course, but he didn't want to think about that.
"My name? My name's Rawr," he said. He looked at her more closely, now that she didn't seem as bad a threat. She reminded him of the beta in his old pack, strong and alert. Pack- how he wanted to be in a pack again, hunting and living together
"Do you," he began to ask, wondering how to phrase it, "want a pack?"

Rawr. His name was Rawr. 'I should be more careful when I ask for stuff now.'she thought, wondering how he had acquired such a name. Raiel's tail swished back and forth on the ground as she wondered how to suggest forming some sort of pack. She wasn't in the mood for a fight if she stated this the wrong way and her reputation so far wasn't in the best position.
She was jerked out of her thoughts however, when he asked if she wanted a pack. 'How convient.' was the only thing she could think of before opening her mouth to answer, "Yes. Yes I do. I'm guess you want one too?"

He watched hopefully as she flicked the leaf litter with her tail.
"I haven't felt safe without one," he said. "I just don't think I'm meant to be a lone wolf."
His mouth open in a grin, he wagged his tail so strongly that half his body wiggled with it. He could hardly believe his luck- he'd have a pack again! It was wonderful! Fantastic! Amazing!

"To be truthful, I haven't either. I don't like being alone much." She smiled shyly, glad that they could form a pack. Her grin grew as she watched Rawr wiggle with excitement and she came close to a giggle as she watched him.
She opened her mouth to say something but instead her stomach decided to talk, letting out a low groan that successfully embarrassed and made Raiel realize how hungry she was at the same time. An embarrassed grin appeared on Raiel's face and she managed to say, "Know anywhere to hunt?".

Rawr bounced a bit on his paws.
"Uh..." he thought on it a moment, tilting his head as his brows knit together, then remembered what he'd been doing before meeting his new pack-mate. "There's a deer trail somewhere around here. We could probably handle a deer quite nicely together."
