She glanced over her shoulder with a wide grin and slowed down, "We're almost there!" Expierence came to a fast paced jog, seeing the trees open up ahead. On night's like this, if they got there at the right moment, it looked like the moon floated up from the hill. It was an amazing sight she'd never seen before, that was until she'd found it on accident.
"Have you ever just gazed at the stars before?" Expierence was curious, as she soon slowed to an easy trot beside him.

As he came up behind her it was then that he gave a bright smile. Finally, something he felt comfortable talking about. Giving a quick nod, "It was something my mother instilled in me and my siblings." He motioned to the moon pendant on his wrist. "My mother's pelt was inlaid with stars and so she tried her best to give that love to us."

Once they came out of the clearing, she took a spot right on top of the hill. Expierence motioned for him to take a seat beside her with her tail, then wrapped her tail around to the front and over her paws. "Really? That's amazing. You've always seemed to have a glow about you," she was fine with saying that much. It didn't sound out of place since it was the truth. "I wish I could've grown up watching the stars at night. Have you ever seen any shooting stars before?"

At her statement his cheeks gave a bright blush and he turned his head, unwilling to let her see it. "Shooting stars?" His head quickly moved up and down. "According to my father... every shooting star is the new birth of one of the great western dragons... the dragons with scales... and wings.. large claws... and breathe fire..." He let his voice trail off as he thought about his father's history, his heritage. Musing, he wiped all the emotions off his face to finally glance in her direction, "Why didn't you have the opportunity to see them?"

Noticing he had turned his head, she glanced at him from the corner of her eye. Expierence smiled serenely and nodded. "Dragons? Oh they sound dangerous, especially the fire breathing part," she thought back to when she had seen the species of dragon on the isle. They didn't resemble the ones he described, and for that she was grateful. Or else she may have lived in fear of them. "I never really noticed the skies at night, nor did I bother to watch them when I was younger. Now I regret that. It's an amazing sight," her tone was full of awe as she spoke, "I hope to see a shooting star one day. I hear they grant wishes." Expierence had turned to look at him, "You whisper your heart's desire to the stars, and supposedly it's granted the next day."

What was that? Jiathyn thought to himself when he noticed the quick look in her eyes and the way she stated that the dragons sounded dangerous. Was she afraid? Would she be afraid of him if she knew? He frowned, flinching slightly at the thought and his eyes became slightly distant. He never was that enamored by his heritage, but with this information he began to wonder if he should hate it... Because he was afraid that she would now hate him. "They are beautiful." He gave a faint smile, trying to pretend that what she had said didn't bother him. His tail twitched and in effort to change the subject he went on, "If you had that one wish, what would it be?"

She smiled and thought she caught some discomfort from him. For a moment it scared her. Has she done something wrong? Or had she hit a nerve? Expierence went over many possibilities; freaking herself out in the process, but all the while she kept a smile on. At his words, she eased up and let the fretting dissipate. "Oh, there are many things. But the one I want most is a secret," she smiled slyly, "If I tell you it won't ever come true." As she spoke, she was also thinking about him. She turned her head away slightly feeling the heat on her cheeks, "I can give a hint though," turning back to Jiathyn, she nuzzled him affectionately.

"Well... that's really not fair..." He was cut off when he felt her nuzzle against him. The feeling of her fur bristling up against his made him almost forget what she had said earlier and for a moment he began to purr, returning it before his eyes went ajar and he realized again that if she knew she'd hate him. "So, you'll never tell me, huh?"

She was shocked to hear him purr, really she'd never heard another lion's purr but her own. When he returned the nuzzle, Expierence closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling. It felt wonderful. Butterflies rose in her stomach, but she didn't care much, as long as she was with him. Pulling away, she smiled and nodded, "No, I'll tell you .One day soon you when it happens, you'll be the first to know," she purred scooting closer to him. Something still felt off to her though, even with the joy she found being with him. "Is there something wrong? You can tell me anything and I promise to keep my lips sealed," Expierence studied him with worried eyes and a small frown, as the thoughts flooded back into her mind.

He smiled gently at her, even when she pulled away he remained semi close to her, his eyes on the stars until he heard her question. Letting out a sigh, his eyes withdrew from the sky and fell toward his paws. He mused, unsure if he should tell her, but some part nagged at him. What if Koi told her? Then what? Musing... "I... I'm not exactly a normal lion Expierence..." He began, unsure of how to continue without her thinking him a freak.

She stayed quiet thinking over his words. Finally coming to reason, Expierence smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder, "That doesn't matter to me. I love the way you are and nothing can change my mind about that," she curled her tail around his and stared up at the stars. "Tell me what's troubling you. Please, I want to know if there's anything I can do to help," Expierence didn't want to prod him too much about it, so she tried to keep her words gentle.

Letting out a deep breath, Jiathyn's eyes looked up toward the stars, watching them quietly as he saw a star dance across the sky, Please... please let her not hate me... He wished before he drew in his breath again, "There once was a great western dragon... many... many leagues from this isle... He had two sons... and three nephews and a niece that he raised as his own... Soon... he died.."
Swallowing, "His older son went missing, and so his younger son became king of his people, taking his father's place. The son however... saw the lions as he looked out from his great window. He saw how they played and were free, and he fell in love with the lions... wishing more than anything to fly to Tiansha and go to live with them there. And one day... his wish was granted, and he became a lion just like them so that he wouldn't taint the isle with new species."
His eyes veered up, unable to look at her as he spoke, "The son gave his kingdom then to his cousin whom had royal blood in him. The nephew ruled for years, but.. their great enemies came in numbers when they realized the previous king was no longer there. They chased... and murdered any of the dragons they came in contact and very few left with their lives... A great sorceress found the nephew... and saw that his need was great.. and that he could no longer survive the way he had been before, so she turned him also into a lion and he came to the great mountains in Tiansha to live on his own."
"However," He continued, "The nephew met a lioness, a lioness of the stars.. and he fell in love with her. And they mated and had four children and they named them... Jissele.. Jericho... Koiasi... and Jiathyn." His eyes looked down at Expierence, waiting for her reply.

She listened with an open mind to what he had to say. Her thoughts went back to what she had said about the dragons and felt regret at her words. Expierence was quiet for what seemed centuries to her. Finally speaking up, her voice was no more than a whisper and was heavy with clear guilt, "I'm sorry about what I said earlier . . . I had no idea, if I had known I wouldn't have -" trailing off, she wasn't sure how to continue and went silent. "I didn't mean you were . . . I mean," Expierence tried again but she couldn't find the words, her mouth kept tripping over her meaning. She looked up at him and gazed into his eyes, looking for forgiveness. "I still feel the same about you. Like I said it won't change," near silence Expierence mummbled, "I love you."

The silence had nearly killed him, as soon as she started to speak he went on, "I... I should have told you sooner... I just... its not exactly my proudest bit of history..." He forced a smile which was clearly fake, his ears were twitching back and forth, he didn't know rather to put them straight to try and stunt the awkweardness, or pull them back with the stress he was feeling in the pit of his stomach. "Its... okay... you didn't know.." His ears went back again, his eyes scanning the dirt under his claws until his ears caught the last bit she said, "You..." His voice began to sound like it had a little more life in it almost insantly, "You love me?" His eyes blinked, a questioning tone in his voice as he didn't know if he heard her correctly. His heart was now racing, his stomach twisting as he glanced directly at her.

Expierence glanced down at the ground and felt a lump form in her throat, "It's not your fault . . . I understand," she pulled her ears back. Even if he said it was okay, still she felt angry at herself for being so stupid. She really needed to start thinking about what she was going to say before saying it. Hearing his question, Expierence nodded with her head hung and her eyes at the ground. "I do."
