Laoch walked down stairs early in the morning and he walked about the town asking everyone for more information on this Misencard. After a few hours he new where to look he walked north about 10-12 miles until he came to a place where the road ran through a ravine a perfect place for any bandit to ambush a "helpless" victim like him. Laoch heard movment among the rocks but he continued to walk as if he had heard nothing at all. He sensed that there were eleven men about and they were well armed with bith dark hearts and weaons. Laoch stopped when a tall surprisingly well built dark elf stood before him stop fool you are surrounded ther are fifteen of us here and we will now take your propety or you can fight and we will take your life and we will still get your syuff anyway! Misencard then gave a hysterical laugh. Laoch thought though you are special ammong humans you will fall like chaffLaoch looked up into the mans eyes and smiled You are hardly that frightening and as for fifteen there are ten thugs eleven counting you and you have absolutly no idea who you are dealing with Laoch smiled wickedly he had held back held on for so long now he would feed. No human could get angry and hunt him because the humans themselves had prices on these mens heads. Misencard was furious how would you know that are you from a rival band well no matter you will soon perish, ok men lets get him Laoch laughed when he saw the eleven men descend into the ravine. Laoch contiued laugung as the men got confused looks on hi faces because laoch took off his jacket and laid it neatly on a stone now which one of you will be the first to die no fear Misencard I shall not harm you you are more valuable to me alive Three men charged and Laoch simply broke the leading mans neck and just stood there as the other two stood on opposite sides and Laoch did not move when they charged he just stood there he only moved when the men swung and right before the blades hit him Laoch transmuted into mist causing the men to kill eachother the other eight menn looked around nervously and heard Laochs laughter echoing about them. One screamed where is he, he is a deamon!They all urned back to the rock where Laoch had laid his jacket when they heard him say Well..actually gentleman I am a vampire but I guess to you humans it is much the same thing The rest if then the rest of the men charged Laoch all at once he reached out and touched Misencard casuing him to pass out he had always liked that particular trick then he killed the others easily and drank them all dry it had been awhile since he had had fresh blood he theriffled through their clothes and burned what whasn't of use. Laoch then went over to Misencard whom he had frozen with his eyes open so he could see everything but was unable to speak or move. Laoch looked through Misencards stuff then he put it all in a pack the LAoch found up in the clifs the only thing of intrest he found was a map that had been in Misencards shirt it had a red X where they hid their loot a place he would viist soon but far up in the section thet would be the northwestern most mountains there was a crudly drawn dragin and then a skull, I guess the great Misencard was an illiterate. not surprising he never understood why other races put so little emphasis on learning, well no matter. Laoch gathered up his jacket and his loot and the still unconsious Misencard and brought him back to town. Laoch wited until night then he took the back way in and stuck Misencard in the closet he took away the paralysis but said if you make a sound what happened to your friends will happen to you. Laoch smiled when he saw the man wa under a different spell th spell of fear! Happy that Msiencard would do nothing Laoch descended the stairs into the tavern Laoch slowly walked over to Ellery and then opened his hand allowing the charm to dangel but he kept hold of the chain here you go he said as he handed it to her. Laoch then turned to the crowd the next two rounds are on me!the crowd cheered! One guy looked up and said hey didn't you drag Shargar out of here awhile back?Laoch looked up ad said yes, but I am am a mercannary I have dragged many people out of taverns to meet justice, if you do not want to drink with me then fine Laoch turns around and the man said sorry just thought I recognized you then he ordered his drink and said cheers freind we all do what we must to survie , right! Laoch continued to chat with Ellery and gathered her parents had gone to get more supplies thats probably what all that wine was in the theifs cave...Laoch had made one little dtour to find the necklace! Laoch told her he found all the alchol and could bring it back tomorrow, along with some other stuff that could help. When all the customers ahd left they ascended the strairss. Laoch went and dragged the man out of his closet! Well Miss Ellery..here he is your parents theif and murderer Ellery knelt down and then savagly punched the man in the face and drew her dagger holding it to the man's throat you killed my parent and I have wited for this day for the last two years, now you die!Misencard looked at this new girl and then back to Laoch go ahead kill me I no longer fear death but little girl I doubt you have the courage you have know me and where I have been huntng and yet you did not ome ou got a demon to do your dirty work...go ahead slit my throat shiw me what you are made of..youalready slaughtered my men and two of them were my brothers! so go on I have nothing left, go on and kill me ellery looke dinto the mans eyes she was both tearing and raging but her hands were shaking Laoch kneeled down by her side and brabbed her wrist Miss. Ellery I can take him to the castle I have frineds there the noble vampire clan is always lookiong for another person to keep alivein the dngeons to siphon blood from...now do not be frightened we only do this with criminals! So would you like me to take him away I asure you it will be much more painful Ellery looked at him the laid her head on i chest and the smile dissapeared from Misencards face when he met Laochs Eyes. Ellery and Laoch then discussed keeping a room open he would go back to castle Valids and be back in the morning to bring all the stock Misencard had stolen bck to Ellery shop. Laoch gthered up the loot and and Misencard and strapped evrything to his horse he didn't feel like announcing his true nature to the world though flying would be much faster!

Laoch returned to Westfall once more it had been a few days he wondered would Ellery would have any work for him? Laoch arrived in town at dawn and made his way to the Hrothgar and the red dragon tavern as always he wanted to have more fun, and even if Ellery did not have any work for him he could always go investigate that cave marked with a dragon on his map. Laoch knew he would probably not get to do these things however he was here for two reasons to keep track of the scoundrel Shagar at Lord Valdis's command and to search for Dante's brother Virgil. Master Redgrave had told him that Virgil would awaklen soon and LAoch planned to be there when it happened he had no intention of allowing someone to go through such a painful process alone! The only problem was where to search? Laoch got into his room adn shut the door and then he sat of the floor cross legged an started to concentrate he could use his telepathy to read everyone in the towns inds at once and any creature that was sentient would appear in his mind this was hard to do because it was easy to get distracted but Laoch knew it wa the only way. Laoch relaxed closed his eyes and began to scan for any information of signs of Virgil......or that sharlaton Shagar he was angery at himself for initally having felt pity for the man it had caused him to ignor what he had actually done. well when he found anyone asociated with Shagar retribtion would be swift and terrible, Laoch aslo rembered he must look for any fellow night child with a searing bull mark oon their necks.Laoch would certainly have his hands full this time who knows how many people he would be corraling back too castle Vladis this time. Laoch was gettiong ahead of himself he relaxed himself again pushing everything from his mind except the search for Shagar and Virgil his primary targets...all he needed to do was let go of all other thought and concentrate on those two names.......

*telepathically* if I locate him in dormancy I will call the ohers of Valdis and we can bring him to the castle and deal with hm there where we are strongest. Laoch then went back to concentrating so far he had marked thehreat beats of three men whom Shagar had associated with....Laoch continued to concentrate and allowed his sense to wander unchecked for two days when suddenly he sensed a great and terrible power located in a cave several miles to the north! Laoch shouted out telepathically to several others Nyx, Milexy, Kira and Redgrave come quickly I think I found him but he is very close to waking. Redgraves alert the others I have found something of great power!

Laoch had snet his message now he had to wait for his reply in the mean time he decided to fly out to the cave marked on Misencards map upon arriving at the catle Laoch treansmuted into mist and then back to his "human" form Laoch sensed a great heart beat but he also sened that heart beat to be fading whatever it happened to be it was dying! Laoch walked further into the cave though the cave was in the icy mountains it was very hot...and even steamy. Laoch took of his jacket and shirt and just teleported them back to his room Laoch laughed to himself that skill came in handy quite often Laoch walked further and further into the cave until he came upon the body of a nearly daed ancient looking dragon it was periced with several arrows. Laoch looked past the dragon and his eyes opened wide an egg....a dragins egg Laoch finally had found something he had long sought a pet dragon. but as laoch picked up the egg. He heard a multitonal voice say who are you creature of the night and why are you trespassing why are you taking my child Kaltik Laoch looked up at him I am surprise you are not dead yet, I am not kiddnapping I wanted to keep him to be my companion not as an animal like a dog or a horse but as a companion as you said I am a child of the night and I will live forever so a dragon is an ideal companion it too shall live forever unless it dies violently but I will protect him The dragon regaurded him coldly well the you take him and you rasie him place the eggon the fire and rember he is no slave creature, no domestic animal he is a sentient being and your equal with that the dragon died and burst into flame and burned till nothing was left she did not want anyone degrading her by making her scales into armour or her teeth and claws into weapons. Laoch grabbed the egg and teleported into his room .........oh hi lady nxy quickly runs and pulls on his shirt to cover his battle scarred torso* redface yes there will be fights where are you going to stay? and do you know if the others are coming? as he said this Laoch stoked the fire in his rooms fireplace and then gently placed Kaltiks egg in the fire

Dante walks into the room with the dark dragon sleeping on his right shoulder and the light dragon sleeping on his left shoulder. "Do you guys know good names for my little dragons here"

"I'll name the light dragon here Saphira and dark dragon here Ronan." "Now if you don't mind I'm gonna train Ronan and Saphira." he wakes them up and puts them on the window, he goes outside "Ronan and Saphira I want you two to practice flying. You may start when you're ready"

"Wow you guys are naturals, as a reward we're going for fish" walks to a lake. Catches five fishes and walks back to the tavern. "Now let's practice breathing fire, you may start when you are ready."
