History:
_____________________________________________________________
The Vel’Vloz’ress clan can trace its roots to a low-key band of peaceful demon worshippers lead by Ven’nedia. Persecuted and disregarded by the majority of drow civilization for their beliefs, the group carried on quietly with their research and preparation on the edges of the treacherous Rift.

Life for the small group changed dramatically after adopting a girl of dubious origin from the wild. Introduced by Sene'kha, the child was deemed mentally unstable. Her name was Kharla'ggen.

An unfortunate turn of events lead to a close extermination of the future Vloz’ress. Only the frightening power of Kharla’ggen saved the survivors from complete annihilation at the hands of the Sharen. However, the carnage was still not at an end. Ven’nedia’s death at the hands of Kharla’ggen served to rid the last actively dissenting voice to the concept of Vloz’ress clanhood. From there, the band alarmingly pushed its way to clanhood under the guidance of Sene’kha. With Kharla’ggen as the figurehead leader, the other ruling clans had no choice but to acknowledge the Vel’Vloz’ress. Many attempts were made to topple the fledgling clan and their unsettling child Ilharess, all of which were completely unsuccessful.

The new clan thrived with the addition of numerous mercenaries, demon worshippers, and others sharing the beliefs of Sene’kha. Two years after the Nidraa’chal war, the Vloz’ress further cemented their position within Chel’el’Sussoloth by forming a public alliance with the Vel’Sharen. Under the banner of Kharla’ggen, they are a prominent force in Chel’el’Sussoloth.

Clan Fortress:
_____________________________________________________________
Designed by the 'mad scientist' Kar'liir, the Vloz'ress home will leave a lasting impression on a visitor. The interior shares the outside mood- there are no maids to pick up the corpses of the maids.
_____________________________________________________________

Clan Traditions:
_____________________________________________________________
The Vel'Vloz'ress are known to take -anybody- into their ranks. There is little sembalance of civilty between the upper and lower classes. Their home reflects the clan's chaos, with dead bodies becoming almost a norm.
Avoiding Kharla'ggen is common sense.
Special FeaturesThe Vloz'ress are known for their knowledge of demonic entities, especially in the way of summoning.
There are golems outside of the Ilharess' chamber, presumably for the atmosphere. A giant doll of Ven'nedia, the former leader of the pre-Vloz'ress, hangs outside the gate. It is animated with the aura of Ven'nedia. Kharla'ggen is infamous for creating Living dolls from her enemies, or anyone who catches her fancy.

Red facial tattoos, reddish armor, and black robes are often sported by clan members, and orange hair-dye is very common.

The Vloz'ress snake makes an impressive mount. The rider directs the creature by manipulating its long feelers.

Description
_____________________________________________________________
The true power of the Vloz'ress; each of them could defeat and army with their demonic minions, hungry for hosts. They were adepts trained into higher arts who decided to remain in the clan, devoting themselves to its purpose and views. They are very rarely together, surrounding themselves with their servants and soldiers instead. Just like the Scourges, they wear a ceremonial mask over their face. Some, however, eschew the mask in favor of symbolic runes cared directly into their flesh. They might look dangerous and have the strength to kill hundreds, but they are actually among the most cool-tempered members of the clan, and that is the reason that they are its politicians and ambassadors. Their long training with demons led them to have very good control over their demonic seed; Nether Summoners are able to stop it from growing and can use it at its full power. Nevertheless, most of them wear sealing armor when not fighting a personal war.

Even the Vloz'ress clan doesn't escape the Drow sexism, as all successful Nether Summoners are women. As their true strength is their skill in using mana, they don't actually need a physical weapon; as such, what they usually carry is meant to be seen by all, a sign that they are the leaders. A polearm, a scythe, a lance, etc. Something tall, and preferably symbolic.

Roleplay Recommendations:
_____________________________________________________________
Just like the adepts, but beyond, they are the Vloz'ress at its best and they know it. Cocky, over-confident and completely free of any rules (except Sene'kha's commands), they are fearless women; each of them unique in personality, past and fighting style. All Nether Summoners have a Soul Seeker mate or companion with them, and only a few actually exist, so it is recommended to begin as an adept or a Scourge and make your way up, first.

Background:
_____________________________________________________________
Description
Soul Seekers are the mercenaries who adopt the Vloz'ress views and serve the clan out of devotion instead of money. This makes them the most trusted servants of the Nether Summoners, who use them to seek auras and mana - or Souls, from their point of view. Trained in specific arts, they are the dark opposite of the Kyorl'solenurn Templar. Their task is to kill and extract the aura of the victim before it fades away, their gruesome job making them the most merciless of the clan. Unlike most other members of the clan, they are loyal and thus can be used to punish anybody who betrays the clan. They are given the best equipment, as they are the glue which keeps the forces together. They are very commonly used as mates for the Summoners, as well, so the favorites among them are usually male.

To see a corpse sliced up into chunks on purpose is a good sign a Soul Seeker has passed by; the need to cut within the body of an enemy is what makes them choose sharp weapons over blunt or ranged ones.

Roleplay Recommendations:
_____________________________________________________________
One does not become a Soul Seeker easily. First, they all start as simple mercenaries, out of luck and needing money to survive, and then being recruited by the worst employer: the Vloz'ress. Doing their job, they discover a gruesom purpose to their life; psychopaths, all, they find that they enjoy killing and subsequently adopt the philosophy of the clan. This cannot be faked, so those attempting to spy within the Vloz'ress ranks by becoming one are bound to receive a few surprises. Additionally, religion is always a strong point with the Soul Seekers, so they need to respect - if not worship - the Netherworld's powerful beings.

Description
_____________________________________________________________
The Scourges represent the main forces. They are those who came to the clan on a quest for power and knowledge. Knowledge of demonology and the Netherworlds. They are adepts who are used as minions by the Nether Summoners and leaders of the clan; those who survive are given what they want. Coming from all ranks of society, all genders and from many races, they are people whom are willing to make any sacrifices to accomplish what they want.

Being people who want ot develop their knowledge and skill in using mana, they rarely put as much devotion in to martial skill. Because of this, they usually come with light armor, light weapons, trickery and lies; a quick kill is what they do best. All Scourges wear the mask of the Vloz'ress adepts, customized by the wearer as they see fit. The Scourges possess a wide variety of powers, as they can be from any clan; expect the unexpected with them.

Tortured souls thirsty for demonic powers, betraying their clans or family to go work for the Vloz'ress summoners who seek to destroy all clans? To say the least, they've got issues. Just like the Berserkers, they are usually not welcome within mainstream Drow society. While they live longer, they are bound to go insane or turn into a demon sooner or later, unless they leave quickly after gaining what they need. Considering how young the clan is, rare are those who've had that chance.

Description
_____________________________________________________________
The bulk of the Vloz'ress forces, and the bottom of the clan, if not Drow society as a whole. These are men and women who couldn't find work anywhere else and ultimately resign themselves to knock at the gate of hell itself: the Vloz'ress fortress. They are dogs needing to survive, and this is the only thing they have in common. Mercenaries will often betray or run away from their work; this is common and nobody is surprised by it. It is also not uncommon for them to die while they are off-duty, under the claw of a wandering Ver'aku, or worse.

New recruits are given the armor and weapons of those who've died, so most of the time the equipment is damaged, or other pieces of armor were used to patch the original one. The only distinctive trait to all of their armors is the demonic mask they have to wear under their helmet. Seeings as they rarely have any education, they rarely have any skill at manipulating mana, either.

Roleplay Recommendations:

Desperate, low-class citizens or renegades trying to escape something. Imagine the bottom-feeders of a society and you've got what they are. Whatever they know, they learned on their own through the harsh experiences of life. Some of them have built a small clan along with brothers-in-arms and have a strong bond with them.

Troops:Vloz'ress Corrupted
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________
Statistics:
_____________________________________________________________
-Races:
Drowolath, Drowussu, Ver'Drowendar
-Rank:
Low
-Weapons:
Any weapon they can find, or just their bare arms and tail.
-Armor:
Any, might even wear no clothes.
-Fighting Style:
Close, unorganized, confused. Unpredictable.
-Mana Mastery:
None
-Special Attributes:
Symbiotic snake attached to their body. Brain numb due to neurotic drugs.
_____________________________________________________________
Background:
_____________________________________________________________
Description
_____________________________________________________________
Enemies of the clan or unlucky passersby who fell victim to the symbiotic mutated giant snakes of the Vloz'ress, these creatures - able to breed - were created to devour a person once they had reached adulthood. In the process of consuming a person they stop half-way, biting down into the victim's flesh with its fangs. Over time, its mouth seals with the skin of its symbiote, making the two separate beings into one artificial, naga-like creature. The venom of the snake is a powerful neurotoxin which makes the victim's brain numb, docile and easy to train. Over time, the snake and the person become one, trained to obey the Vloz'ress clan members like a pet; a pet which can hold weapons and kill. The Corrupted rarely remember even their names, and are clumsy and easily confused. This does not help them in becoming great warriors, but their main use is not direct fighting, but psychological warfare by using them against the clan they came from, making them fight against their former kin. Additionally, they are also useful to protect specific areas of the fortress which are too precious to be guarded by the quick-to-betray mercenaries.

They will pick up anything to fight if in danger or needing to kill, be it a sword or even just a helmet to bash with. They may bite but they lack the fangs to actually kill, though their tail holds tremendous strength. Seeing as they have poor memory and intelligence, they can often forget to put on their armor and clothes, making them an easy target. If the either the victim or snake dies, its symbiote soon follows.
_____________________________________________________________
Roleplay Recommendations:
_____________________________________________________________
Don't treat the Corrupted like people, treat them like animals; dumb and docile servants of the Vloz'ress. It is possible that a Corrupted could get freed from its snake flesh, but it would be a painful process involving cutting through it with a blade. Since the corrupted feel everything the snake feels, it would be like cutting the person's legs off. The victim might also die from blood loss even if a way to stop the pain and cut precisely is found. Even worse, after a while it is very likely that the brain will be unable to recover from the neurotic venom
