I'm the President of the Drama club for my high school, and we just got done with our fall production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (I was Bottom. What fun! xd ).

Anyway, looking toward the future, we were originally going to perform a musical in the spring, but we couldn't because the choir director fell ill. So we have a space empty for the Spring, and we need something to fill it up with.

The criteria for choosing a play is that it can't be Shakespeare or a musical, and it must be something that would be of interest to almost any teen or teacher.

Any suggestions would definately be helpful!

Thanks in advance.

We did a good one last year at my University called "Rash Acts."

It's a series of short scenes that you can pick and choice from to make your show unique. They've got serious skits, funny ones, ones that make you think, pretty much anything.

It's great because you really don't need to have a big budget to do it. It's all very abstract. When we did it, we had four boxes that became desks, tables, chairs, and such. Plus a door, but that was a special case for the skit "Doors"

Here, this is my photo album of the show: http://photobucket.com/albums/v471/AmbyLeigh/Rash Acts/

Are you looking more for serious or comedy, or either?

We're putting on a very abstract, darker version of Alice in Wonderland right now. Depending on whether you're looking for show-recognizability (is that a word?) or not, you might try Diary of Anne Frank, anything Neil Simon...it all depends on what you're looking for...
