I really wish I could go, but, it's both a money and distance thing for me.

Just as well, life has taught me a few lessons about dreaming.

I've been debating. I live in the area, but I've never frequented cons -- I'd like to see Abney Park, Voltaire, & the Hellblinki Sextet, though.

I'm on edge with the bands...I REALLY want to see them...but I'm worried that I won't be able to get into the shows x____x

I've heard that you have to get there rather early to make sure that you get in c:

D:
I want to go OH SO BADLY...
But that would require the money not only for admissions, but also for a flight. And a ride to the airport... An hour away...
And then there's the whole mess of my not having a suitable outfit.

Sadly, don't have D*C money this year; I went the past three years, (the last year being the one that sparked my search for steampunk enlightenment by the purchase of goggles) so its irritating that I miss this year... BUT! This'll be my first year attending AWA (Anime-Weekend Atlanta, fyi) and second attendance of MomoCon, so... MAYBE I can make myself feel better by standing out at both in something a little less...cosplay, and a little more...historic. Lol. >< I am rather...mundane in my garb; but it allows me to wear it around town on a casual basis. =) No one has a clue- just think I'm dressy, and added goggles for style... But soon I'll be gettin a tophat- I hopes. lol.

Probably won't be able to attend this year either, though I may tag along with a friend or two if they head that way on Saturday. EDIT: I will be there Saturday and Sunday, but no steampunk costume ready, so I'll be running around as Groucho Marx.

Danny has always been a great costumer; I'm glad he's gotten a lot of recognition for his steampunk costumes and prop designs, which are one of the main reasons I became interested in it. Hopefully I can bring him some friendly competition at next years DragonCon. wink

The Outlander armory crew also made an appearance at Anime Weekend Atlanta- which made me happy. I had a few friends sit in on the panel they hosted- and they actually have become...amused by steampunk, which is good, even if it isn't participatory. It promoted alot of understanding... I just wish I coulda been in the photo they took of all the people in steampunk garb at the end. I sadly had to step out early. crying
