Reynold High, the local public school of St. Eva, or at least the only one we're going to take note of. Reynold High school is a nice school that anyone with a character that goes to high school would go to, but despite the potential diversity, it's set in a nice neighborhood and quite fancy as high schools go.
Beyond those features, there is little to note. Jeffery Pride is the football coach as well as the Weight training teacher.

Reynold Middle school is only a few blocks away from Reynold High.

School was still in session as normal, the death of a millionaire no reason to cancel anything, though apparently enough for the principle to take the day off to attend.
Samuel sat in class in a dress shirt and tie, paying more attention to his pencil than the lesson. They had a football game that night, and that was enough reason for the school to make him dress up, it seemed.

In the back of Sam's class, some of the kids were chuckling, all of them huddled slightly. "No, check it out. I can seriously create it in my hand."

"That's bullshit, it's a trick, with hairspray and a lighter or something."

((*ahem* Since an uninteractive post for the football game that takes place later is silly, I will instead make it the night before. Thank you.))

The football game was the same as any other high school football game. Excited students, a few teachers, and the security for cross-school fights and overenthusiastic fathers who were 'that close' to making it pro themselves and now their only hope is to live vicariously through their sons and ******** the referee that tries to hinder that dream.

The first down started, the Reynold Brown Coats holding possession. Long pass made it to Samuel who snatched it perfectly out of the air, taking off for what could be an early lead.

Two heavy defense dudes came barreling at him, closing the distance. The first leaped for his legs, Samuel side stepping him without even looking. The second timed his hit better, stepping over the fallen team mate and dashing, crashing into him. Samuel rolled with the hit, forcing the defense down, vaulting off him without touching the ground and landing on his feet, taking off and scoring an early touchdown.

The crowd went wild at the stellar play, Jeffery included. The rest of the game followed the same line, Samuel's game had improved drastically, not to say he was bad before, but he was something else that night.

The game was won by a long shot, Samuel scoring over and over, refusing to be taken down.
The night ended on a high note for the team, the crowd still going wild, and more than a few fights breaking out in the parking lot over it.

THIS WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE THE FUNERAL! EEEYYAIGH!

Two days later, Monday school, Jeffery was out watching the track, the weight training class running laps.
He was sitting with the other teachers, a few of the other, easier classes doing their thing on the field.
Rook had taken his time, and eventually tracked down Jeffery to Reynolds high.

Rook disguised himself, waiting and watching, running the track like so many others. An extra student in the Athletics area is never unnoticed. And so, he waited for when he would be able to talk with him in quiet.

Jeffery didn't notice, as Rook wasn't in his specific class. The class went as planned, leading to the classes splitting up, the weight training class getting a free day to play football or whatever they really wanted, the other teachers and students going their separate ways, Jeffery sitting and relaxing tot he side.

Rook made his way up the stairs, hands shoved in his gym pants, making his way towards Jeffery, casting a casual look around to see they weren't being watched.
"A gym teacher, eh? Long way from the kung-fu badass that aced me and Lincoln the other night," He leaned forward, smiling.

Jeffery jumped slightly, looking at the kid. "Who... how do you know about Lincoln?"

"I was the cop. You won't recognize me, so don't try. Just listen to me, hear me out. You did me a huge favor, throwing me off that boat. Lincoln thinks I'm dead now, which means I can help out Kat, but I need to know where she's staying."

"You were the cop? Some secret tech made you look like a kid?" He frowned, crossing his arms. "You helped, yeah, but you were also part of the problem. I don't hold a grudge, but I'm not sure if she'd be safe if I started bragging."

"Can we talk somewhere private, please? There's a lot of things at work that you don't fully understand. She's at risk from Lincoln's men unless you listen, and let me help."

Jeffery frowned again, but nodded, standing and motioning for him to follow. There wasn't much in the way of private he could take him, but the hall near was empty, the classes in session. "Alright then, speak your piece."

Rook stepped back, out of view of the rest of the hall, before taking a new form, his most comfortable one.
"There are those among you, Jeffery, that are... Different, that are gifted. Some that won the genetic lottery in a way that didn't leave them a drooling idiot. Kat is one of those people. I am one of those people. Lincoln is one of those people. We're from an organization that does not not nice things to nice people in the name of secrecy. Kat and I have left that life behind. They don't like people that leave that life behind. Lincoln didn't like that she left it behind. And I 'died' on the job, so they don't know that I left it behind."

"Jesus Christ!" Jeffery jumped back at the change. "What the hell are you, how did! What the s**t!"
