I'm looking for books centered around bad guys, antagonists, evil villains. I want to read the dark, wicked side. I need some good ole villainy evily goodness. I'm tired of heroes and good main characters for the moment.

Make sure you mention the book title, author and a quick synopsis so I know what to look for blaugh

AH! How strange! I actually made a thread just like this on the Book Forums.

I got a lot of responses too, so I'll give you the link and hope that it will help you just a bit at least. Link

stare And, yeah, someone moved it to the recycle bin because I made the mistake of not asking people for recommendations through a specific thread made just for getting "Recommended Books". As if I'd get that many posts through that silly thing. stressed

Black Sun Rising, When True Night Falls, Crown of Shadows all by C.S. Friedman. These books feature the anti-hero Gerald Tarrant who murders his whole family for power.

The books that are from the HBO show

Dexter

are pretty good. Well the first one is good, the second is ok, and the third one is terrible. But perhaps you will like?

Darkly Dreaming Dexter
Dearly Devoted Dexter
Dexter in the Dark

Though I am unsure of the order

They are about a serial killer who kills serial killers, grusome and riviting.

My husband loves those and we love the show. It's great mrgreen

To everybody: Thanks! I'll see if any of my libraries have them and go to the dark side

Grunts by Mary Gentle... Hands down the best book with the story told from the other side of good vs evil.

The opening of the book plays up the orc warleader sent to reclaim a weapons cache in preparation for the 'Last Battle' between good and evil, which is well on its way. They are assisted by a pair of halflings whose cute demeanor is contrasted with extremely violent acts.

The orcs uncover a dragon's hoard of modern military weaponry, which is endowed with a geas that transforms their minds into replicas of the stereotypical United States Marine Corps mindset, sometime during the Vietnam War. Gentle continues the storyline through the Last Battle and the orcs' integration into society, along with a new military threat that rivals the orcs themselves.

Two thumbs way, way up.
