I got it from the school... i'm not a huge fan of it, but hey, it's a laptop, right? XD

It's an older make though ;w;

what is your opinion on laptops guys? I prefer desktops atm...

I am in love with HP laptops at the moment, personally. XD Though desktops are cool too.

I just really like laptops now because they're all sleek and pretty and I like the sound the keyboard makes.

The desktop at my house is a very pitiful thing. It's been needing to be replaced for years.
I have my own Apple laptop. I like it, but I guess I really don't need a laptop since I don't do a lot of moving around anyways. sweatdrop But it has its times when it's useful.

I got my new laptop a few days ago. My friend from my university found it for me, and it was such a good deal. It's SO much better than my old school one, much better specs, nicer screen, built-in webcam, and it doesn't get nearly as hot OR loud as my old one. It has Vista, while the old one has XP, which sucks, but I get Windows 7 for free when it comes out, so hopefully that will be better. Also, I'm not really picky about it, but this laptop just looks so nice, and my old one was crazy bland-looking. The best part is it only cost around 1,000 dollars total after tax and shipping. With my old one, I paid 1,500 dollars for the first YEAR alone for rental, and I didn't even get to keep it when I dropped out. What a ripoff. This computer, however, is much nicer for a way better price. Here's a link with specs and pics:

Keep in mind that the price is in CDN, and not USD. It even came with a backpack and gaming mouse, and those items weren't even mentioned in the offer! I didn't even have to pay extra! Seriously, consider MSI if you want a laptop, they're amazing.

problem is atm that I'm a cheapass and spent 1200 bucks on this one and my monitor. I'm okay with the old one considering it has decent specs, but i'll probably save up for one. I'm not all too keen on having to buy Word though.
But this one will do. but i HATE the lack of number pad D<<<<

You can put laptops on a desk, you know. Mine has rubber feet for exactly that purpose. You can also ignore the touchpad completely and hook a USB mouse in the side. The only downside to laptops is that you can get a desktop with the same specs for cheaper, but I just love laptops because you can take them places like other people's houses, and then you have your computer with you.

There is that fact about bringing it with you everywhere, and I know I can put it on a desk, but I don't like the feel of that either. Guess I just like the feel of a desktop a lot more then a laptop.

Plus, I've used a wireless mouse before on a laptop, but it was slow.

I'm not talking wireless. You can use any mouse on a laptop, as long as it's USB, which is most of them.
