Kala walked down Willow Street having decided to spend a more relaxing day shopping. All of her girlfriends had been busy, which almost put her off of it, but shopping could still be fun alone, right? Besides, you never knew who’d you’d run into and she frequented the various boutiques enough to be on friendly terms with the employees. So it wasn’t like she wasn’t going to enjoy herself. Besides, she needed some new shoes for school and while classic black was, well, classy, she wanted to buy something a little different from what every other girl was wearing.
Her gold pumps clicked on the sidewalk with her steady pace, large printed designer bag swaying from her right shoulder. Kala’s blue eyes were distorted by her large pink sunglasses to beat the early morning sun. She was finishing up her extra sugar extra cream coffee when she found the place she was looking for. She tossed the empty coffee cup into a nearby bin and walked into the store. The cute blonde-haired employee greeted her when she heard the door bells jingle and Kala offered a good morning to the girl and a big smile. She plucked the sunglasses from her nose and folding them placed them into her bag. Kala was such a morning person.

Eve didn't like shopping alone.
It really didn't help that it was such a coincidence that everyone she had called was busy on a day like this, a day when her shopping cravings had kicked in and told her to get out there in the streets and shop till she dropped! Even Mother was busy, and simply patted her shoulder and told her to go on her own, and that it would be fine. When she had whined about being lonely when shopping, and possibly getting kidnapped by a random stranger on the way there, and that it would be Mother's fault if a ransom call got to her...Mrs Summers simply laughed it off and told her to just go and shop, and gave her some money.
...While she was glad for the extra cash, Eve was still sulking when she grabbed her purse and headed out into the streets. Her short blond curls were neatly coiffed and as usual, thin silver bracelets decorated her wrist as she went on her quest for shopping.
When she entered the shop, Eve realized that she wasn't the only one craving for a good shopping spree this morning and offered the other teenager that was already there a bright smile. "No one able to accompany you on a shopping trip too?"

Kala’s eyes slid away from the super cute merchandise just demanding to be bought to an equally cute girl that had to be around her age. She had a small cherubic face and a head of adorable curls. She offered the girl a friendly grin and one of her milky brown hands, gold bracelets jingly as she did so. “Yes I was abandoned, “She said dramatically,”but it seems maybe we were fated to meet. I’m Kala Cherian.”

"So was I!" The teenager gasped, a delighted grin spreading over her face, a palm placed on her chest at the surprise of such a coincidence. All her grievances about nobody accompanying her were forgotten, thrown into a mental trash bin, and she could only beam at the brunette, grasping her hand and shaking it in greeting. "I'm Eve Summers!" Oh thank god, a new friend, and hopefully...a shopping buddy! She was sure the other wouldn't mind. They were after all, in the same boat, the same predicament!
And oh! It didn't hurt that Eve thought Kala was pretty and fashionable, and the girl could not stop grinning. "It must be Fate! And I was wondering why it was so cruel to me before..."

“The tides have turned my friend.” She said, cheeks rosy from her smiles. This was lucky for sure. While she had been content enough after calling half her contact book to find somebody to come with that there were none available, this was a more favorable outcome. She grasped Eve’s arm gently, tugging her toward a display of shoes.
“Myself, I am looking for some nice shoes for school. I’m attending Crystal Academy and thought that I might stray from the crisp black and go for something with a little more color. What brings you to the shopping district?” She glanced back at her companion. She secretly hoped Eve might be a Crystal girl too, that way they could run into each other at school.

She allowed herself to get dragged along by the other, a skip now noticeable in her steps. Oh, Eve couldn't express how positively delighted she was by this chance encounter; a bright smile accentuated by the twinkles in her blue eyes.
"Eeeeeee!" She exclaimed in response, bouncing up and down happily on the balls of her feet. "You go to Crystal Academy too? Yay!" Perhaps, Eve thought, the disaster that had descended on her earlier this morning was a blessing in disguise after all! A new shopping friend, and a schoolmate too! What luck! "Oh me? I just had an urge to go out and buy something. You know how that is!"

Kala’s day just doubled in goodness. Maybe she should make a habit of doing some lone shopping and picking up a stranger along the way. “That is fantastic.” She beamed. “We will have to get together at school. I didn’t bring my palmpilot today so I can’t, for the life of me, remember my schedule, but maybe we can get some coffee after a nice morning of shopping and exchange information?” She was not going to let this girl go. They were like sisters, twins even. Kala could tell, even if they’ve known eachother all of seven minutes.
She nodded, “Of course, who doesn’t love a nice shopping day for just the sake of shopping?” Her eyes quickly surveyed the lined shelves until they landed on a nice pair of shiny blue shoes. Those were perfect! She gently let the other girls arm drop to get a better look. Kala examined one of the shoes. It was an odd brand, but she was all for trying new things, and it was so shiny. She was sure it was the same blue as her Crystal uniform just more metallic. She searched for the blonde employee. The blonde glanced at Kala and called out that she would get here size, which the girl knew already.
Then turning to her new companion she held up one of the metallic sky blue shoes and asked, “Do you like these?” While Kala didn’t dress up only to please others, their opinions were important to her. Besides, Eve had some rockin' style.

"Indeed!" The blonde returned the smile with a bright one of her own, complete with a cute dimple in a cheek. "That sounds great! Seriously? I think Fate is totally on our side today!" Disregarding that fact that she had been cursing that same very same non entity not too long ago. It was like an argument with a best friend; you would soon patch things up no matter how serious it was!
On that note, Eve was certain that Kala had earned an instant place in her best friend list in her mind. No matter that that list had...er...quite a few people on it actually, or the fact that they had only just met. Why, they had already so much in common!
"Those would be lovely with the Crystal uniform!" Eve's eyes widened, peering at her reflection in the shoe. Honestly, one thing Eve loved about her school was the uniform. It was much prettier than Meadowview's.

The employee brought a shoebox over to Kala, opening the lid and exposing the crystal blue treasure inside. “Thank you!” Kala exclaimed, her eyes bright. She was never this lucky to find something she was looking for the first try. These were the ones! She sat on the closest cushion seat, laying the shoebox next to her. Someone may think that she was making a big fuss over a pair of shoes, a piece of clothing that covered your feet, but everyone knows the shoes can make or break an outfit, they are the perfect accessory.
“It helps that our uniform is much lovelier than any other schools, I’m sure, in the whole country.” She pulled off a shining gold pump, and plucking the right shoe from the box and slide her dainty size six foot into to it. Finally, having donned both shoes, she stood up and in a very model-esque runway walk strode down the isle and back. “Well, I think I’m in love. I’ll take these.” She said and walked, with a hop in her step, back to the seat to remove them and replace the gold ones while the employee took the shoes to the counter. “I’ll pay for these and then we can be off! Have anywhere in mind?”

Eve understood and appreciated shoe shopping, and didn't mind waiting to see how it looked like on Kala. Honestly, sometimes shoes were so hard to shop for; they could look so good in the shop window, but they just didn't fit on some people. And there was the whole thing with matching shoes with different outfits, which could really be such a dilemma at times. Something many didn't understand, and Eve thought it quite sad, and often winced whenever she saw others wearing shoes that clashed with their outfits. It could be such a waste to a good outfit. If Eve was even acquainted with them, she would admonish them for doing so, and tell them it was better to go barefoot than to wear those hideous things on their feet.
Of course, many would thus find her nosy, rude and annoying. Eve had learned to shut up unless she really knew the person, forcing herself to simply ignore a blaring fashion disaster.
"Our uniform is the best." Eve declared with a smile of pride, watching Kala strut about with her chosen pair, giving a giggle, clapping her hands together. "Hmmmm." She scrunched up her face slightly in thought. "An accessory shop, perhaps?" The blonde couldn't get enough of little trinkets like dangling earrings, bracelets, necklaces; why, her wrists were adorned with the usual thin silver bangles as usual!

Kala nodded, “That sounds perfect!” She handed the blonde employee her card and waited patently while she bagged them. “One can never have too many accessories.” The long band of gold bracelets that wrapped her wrist jingled as if to agree.
“Here you go.” The employee said cheerfully. Kala took the bag, thanking the girl and then offered her arched arm to Eve. Kala was a very open person. She didn’t respect ones personal space as much as she should but she always means well by it. The same went for touching a person. She had no problem with kisses, hugs, holding hands or anything of that sort. So walking arm in arm with someone was completely normal for her.

"I'm glad you agree!" Eve grinned, a sparkle of anticipation twinkling in her blue eyes. "I mean, I can't believe some people totally don't want to jazz up an outfit with a few accessories; make it their own style, y'know? Some people are really quite boring." It wasn't spoken in a condescending tone at all; her voice held wonder and slight confusion, questioning something that seemed quite strange to her.
Without hesitation, she skipped towards Kala, hooking her arm with hers. Eve had absolutely no trepidation about being in such close proximity with someone she had just been acquainted with, and she was delighted that the other had the same views as well. It was as though, she thought giddily, she found someone who understood her completely!

“So..” Kala started as they headed out the door and onto the sunny street, “my lost twin, what is that you like to do when you aren’t looking fabulous and shopping?” She was grinning, and couldn’t help herself; this morning had been and hopefully will continue to be perfect. It was a great morning; the streets were occupied with other hopeful shoppers though not to the point of feeling crowded. Most of the shops were open, and the smell of coffee and cake filled the air. She breathed in deeply.
“I’m a bit of a seamstress myself. I love designing clothes as much as I like buying them! One day, when I’m famous and the most wanted celebrity designer, I’ll make you a gorgeous rose gown, because I think rose would suit you well.” She pointed out. “You know you are very pretty, you’d make a lovely model.”

"Lost twin." Eve echoed, giving her blond curls a fluff as they passed by a shop window, smiling briefly at her reflection. "I like the sound of that~" She was an only child and; as it was usual human behavior to long for something they didn't have, envied others who had siblings to play with and confide with, no matter how annoying some confessed they could be. Of course, there were perks to being the only princess in the household...
"Mmmnnn~" She was lost in thought for a moment before replying, "Well, I like to dance. And I have a little garden of my own, with pretty flowers, of course. And sometimes, I like to help my mom bake." Really, there were many more of her hobbies she would have liked to babble on about, but these really were the key few she truly adored. Besides shopping and fashion, of course.
"Really? That's so cool!" She exclaimed, grinning at Kala. Making clothes sure sounded fun, but she had never gotten the time to try it. And really, all those sewing patterns she had looked up on the internet seemed rather complicated to her. "I would love to have my own custom-made gown." She breathed dreamily, leaning her head slightly on the shoulder of the other. "Well, if you need anyone to model your creations, I certainly wouldn't mind!"

Kala listened to her friend, “My, you seem to have many talents. I’d love a garden, but I’m not much for digging around and knowing when to water and when to plant, and it’s just too much for me. I bet you have some lovely flowers at home. I love this little ones that snap. My mother is an excellent cook and she bakes quite well, I have not, I fear, inherited this talent. I love watching that show on tv where they make all those crazy cakes. How is that even possible? I think I should ask my parents for something like that when my birthday rolls around, maybe a dress one? That would really be soooo cute!”
She laughed, “I’ll keep that in mind, I already have one volunteer now!” She avoided walking in the puddle of who knows what that was caked on the floor, and stopped for a second. “Hmmm, I could have sworn this was where the shop was.” She furled her eyebrows as she scanned the shops. “Ah, there it is.” The storefront was painted a pale purple with a pale blue-curtained display window in which all that could be seen from across the street were the reflections from the gold and silver. The silver lettering read, “Iced.”
“This store is amazing. Have you been here before, oh I bet you have.” She made her way toward it, Eve in tow.
