The beach was at peace. It was low tide, and many shells littered the shores in a pastel rainbow. Even the seagulls were at harmony; some circling the skies and some on the sand near the waves- as if taunting the ocean. It was like a perfect picture; until a certain red lioness's laughter filled the air as she began chasing the seagulls, causing them all to take flight.
Still laughing and out of breath Melanie came to a halt and eventually the seagulls landed once again. The days were long and the months... longer. Melanie, not having many friends, would often just do this all day long; scaring and chasing the seagulls until her legs felt worn or her paws became raw. (She only flew and chased them at the end of the day as a surprise for the many white birds.)
Lying down to rest she watched the perfect picture come back together and return to its previous state. As if I had never been there... She sighed, rolling over to face away from the ocean.

Pip was always around these area's in his opinion this was where the best party's happened at night, and lasted well into the morning. Lying on the sandy beach he snoozed away most of the afternoon, taking the time to recover from the night before and conserve his energy for tonight. Not much was going to move him but the sudden squarking along the beach caused his eye to crack open, taking note that the sun had considerably lowered since he first closed them.
The familiar sound of a distant laugh caused the other eye to open, lifting his head to inspect the situation he could see a blur of a red and green lioness. There was no denying whom he thought it was and just the suspicion was enough to get to his feet and begin padding along towards the figure, his smile firmly in place and body half jiggling along to the song he'd began to compose in his mind.
"Oh Melaine, baby, ain't no party worth the time without yoooooooou, Yea baby you know, without you ain't no point, ain't no reason, gotta see you baaaaabehhhh...." And that was just the chunk he'd managed to sing on the trip from his mong point in the sand to her giddy laughter.

Melanie turned her head to where the singing had come from, eyes darting about. "Melanie? Hey, I'm a Melanie!" Spotting him she rushed over, grinning when seeing that it was her good ol party pal. "I'm a Melanie.~" She repeated with a smile. She had long forgotten what she agreed to call him but she remembered his real name so she decided to address him as so. "Hello again, Pip.~" She dipped her head, wondering if this meeting really was going to end up with a party as all the other meeting have.
Lifting her head once more she tilted her head to the side slightly, deciding to be blunt, "so we gonna have a party or what~?" She grinned.

Pip had bounces almost all the way to her, smiling at her observation. She was the inspiration for his song, and the one they were surrounded around, any party with her there was far better than without. Though he felt slightly fatigued from the night before still he felt a rush from bumping into her earlier on in the day, It wasn't party time yet, the sun was still making it's decent in th sky.
Meaning Pip had time and in the company of Melaine he felt like the Isle was their playground, but first... there was one thing that needed attending. Scooping close he gathered a little courage and took a slight nuzzle of her check, it was affectionate but cheeky at the same time. Though it didn't last more than a second he grinned and padded out to peer about "Yes we will, babydoll, just not yet. Tides not right. How's about we gets our selfs some munchies and see where we go from there?" As he finished asking his question he turned his head with a cheeky smirk, where they went from their highly depended on how eating went. These where things they two hadn't participated in together before, or not for a long time in his knowledge, the use of his real name set him on an edge of adventure, he wanted to do anything and everything with the lioness, though as to why, he wasn't quite sure.

Melanie did not mind the nuzzle, in fact if she were a little more daring she probably would have nuzzled him back. "Alright well, what do you have in mind?" She flicked her tail curiously. Did dragons eat the same things that lions did? Probably. (Though if not she would still probably eat whatever he ate anyways.) Or maybe even they could turn it into a game of some sort. There was that watermelon game right? Something about seed spitting... she didn't really know it too well but she knew it was sorta popular. Perhaps Pip heard of it before? It'd be fitting since they were both watermelon themed. I'll mention it to him later...

Pip put on his pondering face as he looked back and forth between the ocean and the forest, he couldn't rightly decide between fish or fruit. "I've got my hunger on, I'll take fish if you find the fruit?" A smirk appeared on his face as he started to shift on the spot "Meet back here in a half shift of the sun?" (In human time that would be roughly 10-20min). This was starting to sound like fun, first they'd hunt then they'd eat together and then who knew what else they'd find to occupy the time before getting their groove on.

Melanie nodded before running off. Now's my chance.~ Except the only problem was... where would she find watermelons? They weren't exactly abundant like real island fruits. She thought for a moment longer before deciding to focus on that for later, so instead she began to gather berries and other fruits on a large banana leaf, planning when she'd make her trips back and fourth. She hummed to herself happily, making sure to only get the best whilst she wondered what kind of fish Pip would catch.

Pip had chuckled at her enthusiasm as she bounded off to see to the fruit side of things, he'd partied with all kinda of lions and dragons before but never really spent more than the waking up and leaving part with them. Thus he was pretty unacknowledged about their instincts and ability's, he reckon their wings has an advantage to catching fish but then again his slick dragon form was also an advantage. Sure he'd talked and conversed done the ususal morning/afternoon after thing, but if his party mates (and sometimes bed mates) where asleep he had no bad feelings about getting out of their as fast as possible. As soon as she'd gone out of sight he turned, taking perhaps a rather long time to appreciate her form, and began to dart towards the water. As soon as he was waist in he took a deep breath and made for the fresh water around the isle, a little ways off. He felt obliged to impress Melaine with a reasonable sized catch and though the smaller Mollusca practically threw them selfs into his mouth to feed himself, he was unsure about the larger sizes.
With his lungs full of air he proceeded as far out as possible without venturing out of fresh water. Pushing his weight down to assist a stealthy decent into the deeper waters and kept a keen eye. It wasn't long before his hunch had paid off and he had his big enough for four Mollusca in sight, a stealthy approach was all he needed. Getting close enough he stunned the fish with the brute of his tail, quickly clamping down viciously with his jaw and pushed himself up and to the surface. From there he simply doggy paddled back to shore, having guessed at using most of his designated time to catch the beast of a fish.

Melanie carefully carried a bundle in her jaws; holding many miscellaneous kinds of fruits. For now she was doing more searching than gathering, determined to find a spot that grew some watermelons before she headed back to drop off some of the goods. Luck was on her side though, and soon she stumbled upon a well hidden patch of the large fruits.
Contemplating for a moment she decided that she might as well take them now, as there was no other way for her to bring them back with out rolling them. Picking two of the nicest looking ones she began to roll them back to where she had come from, doing her best to avoid any roots and such.

Shaking off the water from his fur Pip took a few steps onto the beach before he noticed the pile of various berries and fruits Melaine must of already gathered. Smiling he padded to first available patch of grass to drop the fish, using his rear to slam into a tree and removing a leaf big enough to house the Mollusc. Leaning down he grabbed the fish in his maw and deposited it on the leaf and carefully scooped the two combined up, padding back to the pile of fruit and placing the leaf down carefully on the sand.
There now their meal wouldn't have nasty bits of sand that got irritatingly stuck between your teeth and could embarrass you at a party later on to worry about. Sitting back and admiring their joint work he twisted his head to the direction he could of sworn he could hear paw steps, was Melaine back? He sure hoped so, he was eager to share as much time as possible with her and the time to hunt and gather seemed to be taking bits of that away.

As Melanie drew near she saw Pip come into sight and gave a muffled greeting. Once she joined up she placed the berries with the rest and the watermelons just beside them. Glowing as she looked at their meal she flicked her tail happily. "Quit the feast we have here, wouldn't you say Pip?"
Sitting she wondered where to start. The fish or fruit...? Well, don't want to be rude! Fish of course. But then at that thought she wondered if she shouldn't just suddenly be starting. Oh, don't be so worrisome! Why you fretting over such trifling things? Pip is a friend here, you don't act like this around your friends do you? First impressions were long ago!

As she came into site his smile gentled as he contently watching her form wiggle in step back to the food site on the beach. When the last of the fruit has been added to the pile he was quick to nod his head at her observation "Sure would! I feel like I could eat an entire school of fish so lets dig in!"
Pushing the leafed fish forward towards Melaine he bowed his head slightly "Always ladies first baby." Then content with his show of manners at the situation he eyed the fruit unsure where to start. Hovering his paws over the pile of small fruit he began to move it about in jagged movements and start his picking process. "Eeny Meany Pitsy Teeny. Ah!" Bringing his hand to a halt he plunged it down and scooped up a handful of whatever berry he's Teeny had landed him on. Shifting around he faced Melaine and in merry jest raised his paw "Rears up!" Chuckling he tipped the pawful of berries in his mouth.

"Rears up!" Melanie echoed, before taking a bite of the fish. Savoring the flavor she spoke again once she swallowed. "Excellent fish you caught here.~ Couldn't have done better myself." Smiling she took another bite, before looking at the seagulls. She chuckled once noticing they were all watching intently, waiting for the right moment when the two would leave their meal unguarded.
Swallowing and sighing her eyes wandered back to her dragon companion. "Say, Pip, ever wonder what the peaceful life was like...? The kind where sitting still in a quiet environment is just as great for someone as dancing and thrashing with music blasting?"

Swishing the berries around his mouth he was savoring the flavor, much sweeter than his usual tastes though he was starting to ponder his ability to taste the finer things in life after sampling some of the substances offered as some of the parties he'd been to. Letting out a hearty cheer as soon as his mouthful has dissipated enough to allow him he grinned broadly at his companion. "Thanks babes and I doubt that." Pip winked in her direction with a cheeky smile, lions had wings as he had already gathered earlier on in thought and that must allow them further out catches.
Just by using his noggin Pip was learning things about her, but her next question did take him a little of guard. "Not really given it much thought, we're young right? The peaceful life ain't for a while yet aye? When we're too old to dance and thrash about!" He let out a chortle of laughter, thats basically how he'd always seen it, sure he'd like to have a family but not whilst he could party and have fun in other ways that didn't entirely imply commitment.

Melanie laughed as well, "well... I was just asking because I've forgotten what it was like, and I was wondering if this moment... was one of those kind of "peaceful life" moments." She smiled at him, before popping a few berries into her mouth. "Forgive me if I'm wrong though.~" Stretching she wondered if she getting old, sure she was young but maybe... Nahhhhhh, what she was she thinking? Getting old? Yeah right! As if in defiance to her previous thought she scoped up a little more berries than she could chew, and upon the realization of her mistake she turned her head away so her funny expression could not be seen.
