A shadow approached the Academy entrance from within the school grounds silently. Upon reaching the massive iron gates, the person threw back her hood, revealing her identity as Kaede Yui, the deputy headmistress of the academy. Taking an elaborately carved silver key from one of her many pockets, she slid it gently into the giant lock that held the door closed, and opened it with a click that echoed over the school grounds. Then, she would lean against the massive gates which each of her hands placed on each of the gate wings respectively, and push them open with strength no one expects from a woman. With a loud creak, they gave in, and swayed wide open to greet the new students that will be attending the Shinigami Academy this year. Kaede walked forth to see if any of the students have already arrived, to welcome them and direct them towards the great hall where the grand opening ceremony will be held.

Aloe jogs through the gates to the Academy with her two books held close to her chest. She was too excited to keep to just walking as she made her way in, but stops for a moment to take note of the directions Kaede was giving out.

Unsure of how to react to teachers formally, Aloe just smiles thankfully and continues jogging on towards the great hall as directed.

Caeles wandered towards the gates, his long white hair billowing behind him as he quickly passed the gate and walked into the academy grounds. With his red cloak twisting and writhing in the breeze, the Head Researcher of the Shinigami Academy absently tapped the tip of his black umbrella against his foot as he stared at the Academy, wondering what the new students would be like. Grinning insanely, Caeles muttered to himself as he walked, "We should go in now... Yes let's... Onward we say!... Potato!... Quiet you... Okay, Okay, we're going now..." he finished, his voice changing slightly every time he paused. Stepping though the main doors, Caeles Pondera entered the Shinigami Academy.

Today was the day. The day he would be accepted into this academy that made the virtuous shinigami that are in the Gotei 13. This would be his time to find a place to really belong; a time for the name James Garath to start to be recognized. He was waiting like the others outside of the gates when they opened. Everything seemed so old and majestic, like this world within Soul Society was completely separate and rooted in rituals and other trials awaiting all who enter.

James had taken the time to make sure he was looking his best, not that hs best was something different than any other normal day. It was just the routine itself that he took more time with, and it kept his emotions fairly calm oddly enough.

There was a lot of energy as the gates opened and the future students started rushing through to the location for the ceremony. Some were running full out, and one even ended up tripping because he seemed to be going too fast. Others were just moving briskly, catching instructions from the lady at the gate, and continuing about toward their goal. James on the other hand knew that there would be plenty of time to get to this Great Hall that they were told to go, and so did not let excitement quicken his feet and drain his energy.

"Today is going to be a day worth remembering," he muttered quietly to himself as the crowd started filtering around him. And then he started his first steps into the great academy that he would be calling home for the next while.

Ryan took his time walking in, looking around a bit. This didn't look like any ordinary school, it looked more...well, majestic and beautiful. Like some sort of exclusive boarding school. Now isn't the time to look, though. Move. Ryan picked up his pace, as he'd lost Tsubame and wished to sit with her rather than with a bunch of people he'd never talked to.

Kaede knew without a glance on a watch - which she didn't have anyway - that the time of the opening ceremony was nearing rapidly. Her place was now in the great hall, on the headmistress' right side. Again, her arms ruffles through one of her many pockets, and she conjured up a piece of paper, a clip and a pen. She wrote a mini-map with directions on how to get to the great hall for the students that haven't come yet, and clipped it onto the metal frame of the massive gate. Then, she walked towards the school facilities rapidly, but in such a strange manner that it seemed she was levitating an inch from the ground.
