Character's name: Ryan Stephen Feldric (Feldric is pronounced Fel-drick) Aliases/Nicknames: None, and Ryan doesn't like them. Age: 16 (physical), 78 (true) Occupation: Student Reiatsu color: Storm Grey
Appearance: Ryan is about six feet tall, with green eyes, and what would seemingly be an average build. He doesn't show much muscle in his arms; more of his muscle seems to be focused into his legs. His brown hair is just down to the bottom of his neck in back, but he keeps it out of his eyes and pushes the sides so that most, but not all of his ears are covered. He is also slightly tanned, due to his upbringing as a farmer, though this is tempered by his Celtic lineage.
Accessories: None as of yet
Personality: Ryan is usually quiet and keeps to himself most of the time, preferring to work on his own abilities or otherwise make himself useful. He is also very secretive and does not like talking about his past to anyone other than those he explicitly trusts. When asked for an opinion, Ryan will be blunt and honest - he does not believe in sugarcoating a situation, preferring to give an impartial outlook and what he feels the best solution would be to any problem. Ryan is also unafraid of those who appear larger than him, being more than willing to put those who boast endlessly in their place if he feels they cannot substantiate their claims.
Bio/History: Ryan was born on June 11, 1931, to Edward and Marcella Feldric. At this time, the once-noble Feldric family lived in Greenvale, Saskatchewan, a small town gripped by the heat of the Dust Bowl and the poverty of the Great Depression. Nine days after Ryan's birth, Marcella Feldric succumbed to lung cancer, and Edward Feldric left shortly thereafter, riding the railroad east to Ontario in search of work. Ryan was left in the care of his uncle Timothy Feldric, who raised Ryan as he had been raised by Ryan's late grandfather Stephen - with heavy emphasis on the Feldric family's tradition of marksmanship with bow and gun. At age three, Ryan was adept with a bow and arrow, and at age six Ryan had become adept with his father's old Colt Single Action Army pistol, though he would not be able to hold his grandfather's Lee-Enfield Mk III rifle until age nine.
In 1943, Timothy Feldric was conscripted into the Canadian Forces to fight in World War II, leaving Ryan in the care of Mark Higgins, the hired man who had become a good friend of the family and was at this point more like a relative than hired help. Ryan himself did most of the farm work, which had increased in light of the war, while Mark's daughter Mary (one year Ryan's junior) did the housework - and every night the three of them would gather around the radio to hear the latest reports from Europe. June 6, 1944 was a day of celebration with the news of the D-Day invasion of Europe, but Ryan would be brought back to earth with a crash five days later when the news arrived that both his uncle and father had died on Juno beach.
After the war, Ryan oversaw the biggest harvest of his life, selling enough over two years to provide for a short tour of the battlefields in Europe. Despite warnings from Mary (who had developed a crush on him that had by now blossomed into love, feelings that, unbeknownst to her, were returned) about tuberculosis, Ryan went anyway, stopping on the very beach that his only family had died on before visiting sites such as the memorial in Vimy and the former concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau. It was there that he contracted tuberculosis, and mere days after his return to Greenvale Ryan was confined to his bed. He would die on May 30, less than two weeks before his 17th birthday and only shortly after revealing his feelings for Mary to her.
Though Ryan was dead, the pain wouldn't stop there. He was stuck as an earthbound spirit, and just over a year following his death he witnessed Mary's marriage to a man that had considered himself Ryan's rival, even though Ryan knew him to simply be a boastful, pretentious idiot that was of little more value than an insect to Ryan. He would spend the next sixty years mostly in the room where he had died, listening to the radio and using the focusing techniques he'd learned for marksmanship to suppress his painful memories. By chance, a shinigami assigned to the general area of Saskatchewan happened upon him and informed him of his great luck - Ryan could have easily gone two centuries or more before being discovered. It was that shinigami who also noticed Ryan's reiatsu, which had been building over the years as a result of his mental work in memory suppression. Rather than being sent to Rukongai, Ryan was almost immediately sent to the Shinigami Academy, though when asked why he came...
"...I came because I was sent here. If I can make myself useful this way, then so be it - it's better than spending another century in a world that I have no business spending my time in."
Kidou: None yet Abilities: None yet Skills: Ryan's ability to focus himself for marksmanship makes him naturally strong with kido, not only with accuracy but with the learning process. He was also trained slightly in unarmed combat, though he mostly fights based on instinct in hand-to-hand situations, disregarding what some label as "dirty" and treating those labels as cowardice. His swordsmanship leaves much to be desired, on the other hand, as the closest thing to a sword that Ryan has ever used would be a farmer's scythe.
Kido: Talented Hand to hand: Average Swordsmanship: Weak
Accomplished classes: None yet Pending classes: None yet
Favourite Subject: None quite yet Disliked Subject: None really. Favourite teacher: None yet Disliked teacher: None yet Expectations: Ryan has never had any sort of formal education, but he expects teachers that are competent yet not pretentious about their subjects.
Likes: Quiet reading, training, card games, classic rock, 20th-century war history and mental exercises in general Dislikes: Pretentiousness, pointless fighting, closed-mindedness, Nazis, Americans, and the British Hobbies: Chess, Risk, and other strategic games

Good, I like how you did the bio part, though appearance and personality could be improved/expanded. As for skills, you wrote it nicely, but it would be much more useful to put it just kidou - talented, hand-to-hand - average and swordsmanship - below average. Accepted if you add a bit to appearance and personality.
Edit: Just put the form for skills next to the description and you're acccepted.
