Before I link to my art, I just want to say a little bit about...stuff. I've been drawing for several years, I used internet tutorials to teach myself (or I just taught myself, I looked up tutorials when I couldn't figure something out).

I started out drawing lots of fanart when I was 12ish to 15 or 16. Spongebob, Megaman, Sonic The Hedgehog. Then I started evolving into an anthro style. I got tired of that and did some anime. Then I started going into a cartoony/animeish style with my oc's. I'm still at this point. :3

Drawing is only a hobby for me, but I suddenly have an urge to improve again. Below are some of my recent drawings/sketches... I'm a traditional artist, with a little digital experience. I'm also interested in realistic art too, but I can't draw it very well.

((Another note: The tall guys (the red heads you basically see) are triplet bros and are supposed to be long/lanky...etc...))

Any tip is appreciated. <3

Hi! Welcome to the guild!

You've got an interesting style going on smile ~

A note on your coloring: It looks pretty flat right now, which is fine, I actually think flats would look really nice with your style! But I see some attempts at shading that aren't manifesting very well.

Just remember to pick a light source and stick with it - think about where the shadows would be and that every 3D object would cast a shadow when a light is shined on it.

Lastly, even if you don't think you're very good at drawing 'realistic' things, it's still good practice - you don't even have to show anyone, but it really helps to understand how real objects look and how they reflect light etc. Even if your style is very different than 'realism'

Feel free to ask for more specific advice smile ~

Thank-you~ :3

Hm. Flats would look nice? I think I'll try that sometime. C: I've noticed my shading looks flat as well, though...thanks for the tip, I need to remember that.

Yeah! I forgot to mention this, but last year I took two high school art classes, and that's what started the interest for realistic drawings. When I began drawing real objects for class, I started improving a bit in other areas. So yeah, it really helps. I'm just shy of going back to it now. But you're right...I don't have to upload it anywhere. xD;

What would you have to say about the poses? I find myself lacking there sometimes.

Orz... I find myself lacking in poses a lot too >3>;;

But sometimes try searching for interesting poses and drawing them... or take pictures of yourself doing something silly XD;;... or maybe get one of those manikins that people use for drawing :'>...

xD I have tried the internet, it helps... but sometimes I just can't find the pose I want. The manikin idea is cool though~ :3

A little off topic, but I just saw your deviantART. It's amazing *-* I had to add you. xD
