depends on what you want. if you want the go in first to take the place with no idea what to do with it after words then go marines, if you want to go in when things get bad adn be the big hero talked about in the news then go army other wise i think they are just about the same.

talk to the recurters of each branch and ask themn what they do adn don't fll for just hearing the good stuff get them to tell you what all the draw backs are as well.

This is a great idea. Decide carefully and make sure you decide. Make sure you get all info. good and bad. Every piece of information is essential in the decision making. i joined to serve with the best (aka the marines) but then again i went in for the toughest position and placement for women right now, the army seemed lacking to me when i was talking plus i looked at the types of people each branch gave as recrutiors, the army was a total a** while the marine guy has involved and actively there and present. thats also what i looked at

Like they say - depends on what you want to do. My stepson was in the Marines and he did 4 years. The Marines are a very disciplined Corps, and I have a great respect for them in that.
I've been in the Army now for over 19 years and love it. And as a female to boot. The Army does lack the discipline the Marines have. I wish we had more. But I do believe there are many more jobs in the Army than the Corps.
See if a recruiter can take you to a base and view both the Army and Marine Corp units doing their jobs. Some units will allow visitors and will take the time to explain their jobs, what they do on a daily basis, and how they personally feel about what they do. May give you a better understanding.
