The girl shifted uncomforatbly outside the house. Staring up at it, chewing her lip. How sh'e known where the fellow halfbreed lived was her secret. But.. how to return the sweater to him without being caught?

A quick look around before she hurried to teh side of the house, peering into each window to try and find the boys room. But none of the rooms were right... Frowning she hugged the sweater close, spreading her underdeveloped wings nad giving a few flaps.
A failed attempt that lifted her a few inches then dropped her on her rear.

Sighing she went for the next try, carefully tieing hte sweater around her waist she moved to the nearby tree. Hiking her sleeves up with a determined look only a child could produce, she latched onto the bark scooting her way up like a catterpillar.

Sucess! the girl beamed as she had found the corredt window, scrapes and cuts now scattered her face and arms from the bark but she hardly seemed to notice. Giving a shy nibble to her lip she gently rapped on the window, pullign the sweater from her waist and hugging it once again.

The halfbreed was tucked away ontop of his bed, back pressed into the corner and knees drawn up. His book was resting on them, and he was scribbling something down inside. Unbeknownst to the rest of the house, his house was currently home to two stray kittens, one old stray dog, a frog, a mouse, and an injured bird. The kittens were tousling on the bed beside him, Alexei was contently nestled against the boy's collar bone, the dog's head was poking out from under his bed, and the bird was watching from a box set up just for it. That box was filled with comfy cloth, which it was nestled in. His frog was in a habitat made within rather convenient tuboware. Spiro already was looking for homes for the dog and one of the kittens, and the bird was almost ready to be set loose again. But for now, the scene seemed completely.. Serene. All creatures were content. Two mismatched eyes lifted as a rapping sound was heard, and Spiro shifted his knees down so as to see over them. What he saw somewhat surprised him.

He set down his book before jumping down off of his bed, instinctively looking to the floor to make sure there were no animals beneath his feet. Then, he hastily made his way to the window and pulled it open. He was about to ask how she got up there, but luckily he didn't like asking stupid questions. He simply looked at the girl, the tree, and understood. He extended a hand to her quickly, offering to help her in, "You should be more careful.. It would hurt if you fell." Since they last saw eachother, Spiro had earned a bruise on his jaw and a bandaid on his forehead. Another missed step on the stairs. He didn't ask why she was here, as if he got visitors popping in his window all the time, In reality, he didn't, but it was in Spiro's nature to take everything into stride like that.

She gave a glance around the room, hugging the sweater tighter as she slipped inside. He had alot of animals...
Ignoring that for the moment she shook her head, eyes locking ot the floor "There is.. worse falls." A pause was given before she suddenlly remembered why she was here. She quickly held the sweater out, tail shifting nerviously "Yours." Another pause "Sorry.. I got it muddy..." Her eyes locked to the floor once more, looking as guilty as if she was confessing she'd ran over his cat.

"I know." Came his response, Alexei shifting to get a look at the new person, ears twitching about. "But that doesn't make the smaller falls hurt any less..." He faded out, looking to the extended sweater before giving a small nod and taking it. He didn't seem to mind the mud all of that much, he simply shrugged, "It's alright. It's seen worse days.." He moved to put it in his laundrey basket that was sitting by his door, "You got through the rain okay?" His room was small and pretty bare, a desk and a bed. Without the animals it would have seemed almost empty. In a heap beside his desk were papers, drawings. Drawings of dreams. Of houses burning down, crying angels and angry angels and evil looking angels and him and what seemed to be blood. He couldn't really remember what was happening after his dreams, but he remembered bits and pieces. And he released what his memory was trying to repress by drawing it out. The old dog crawled out from under the bed and went to look up at her, shaggy tail waving lazily behind him, tongue lolling out.

She nodded a bit, giving a yawn and a rub at her nose. She blinked a bit "You.. not mad?" That was just about the strangest thing she'd ever heard.
Back where she had been they got mad over the littlest things. It was allways her fault... Every mistake. Even when there was no way she could have done it. But she'd grown used to that...

"Of course not." The halfbreed turned to face her again, brows arched slightly, as if THAT was the strangest thing he had ever heard. He never really got mad, after all, so no one expected it of him. The only people he got even close to angry with were... Well, just Ajani. "Why would I be?" He wiped whatever mud that had gotten on his hands onto his pants, like any seven year old would. The dog nudged at the girl's leg lightly and then looked up, tail wagging slightly, expecting some attention now. He was an attention hog. Spiro knew it too- he hoped it would help get him a good home... The purple-haired boy seemed to have thought something up and asked, "Are you tired?" Her yawning had just made him curious.

She blinked a bit, shrugging to his question "Cause.. It's bad?" She blinked, placing her hand on the dogs head to give it a timid pet. A soft smile made it to her face as she kneeled next to it, tail shifting to curl next to her.
"A little." she lied under another yawn. She'd been up all night to tell the truth, atleast she'd had a good place to stay out of the rain though.
"Oh..." she paused a moment, crimson eyes locking on his mixed for a moment "I am Ani."

The dog nuzzled up into her hand before tilting his head to lick at her fingers, drawing his old shaggy body closer. Spiro watched for a moment before nodding and seeming to think over something. As the eyes of both halfbreeds met his mind wandered to something else before he responded, "I'm... Spiro." He held her gaze for a moment or so before dropping it to the floor and shuffling over to his bed, lifting up his book and moving it to his desk. "Um... You should probably get some sleep. You could stay here, if you want, I.. Um.... I'm not saying you have to stay forever, though, if you don't wanna stay after you wake up you can leave." He remembered last time he'd made an offer to her she'd run off, so he'd try not to seem threatening. He went back to his bed to scoop up the kittens in his arms and they mewled and wriggled and pawed at his face. And then finally he turned back to the girl.

A soft noise, almost a giggle was given as the dog licked at her fingers. An arm went around it in almost a hug sort of fasion. He kinda smelled...But she hardly cared.

She paused when the offer was given, temptation mingling in the young child's face. "But.." she frowned a bit. Sleep did sound nice... "Not long..." She looked to him, giving another yawn before burrying her face back into the dog's fur. Nearly falling asleep right there.

"I call him Dakota." The boy said, meaning the dog of course, and almost smiled as he watched the him and the girl, but instead he went to dump the kittens on the floor. They darted under the bed. He straightened back up and nodded, "Okay. Not long." He took a small step back and motioned towards the bed, "You can sleep in my bed.. And Dakota can go up there too, if you want..." The dog was nuzzling happily into the girl, panting and wagging his tail.

She smiled faintly, nodding. "Dakota.." She muttered to him as she moved to crawl onto the bed. Such things allways seemed so tall at this height.

Once atop it she turned, waiting for the dog to hop up with her. Once he was there, giving her the faintest sense of security. She looked tothe boy as she laid down, curling up with her arms around Dakota "Thankyew.." her sentance cut off into a yawn as she shut her eyes, tail curling around her legs.

The dog watched as she went ontop of the bed, and then moved to follow her, hopping up and laying at her side. His tail thumped against the bed lightly. The halfbreed looked to them and nodded, "Uh huh." And then he went to go grab his book and sit on the floor in front of the bed, leaning back against it. He curled his legs up and placed the book ontop of them, opening it and rummaging around under his bed. First he got a kitten, but second try he managed to grab a pen. It was red, not purple... But it would have to do. He began writing something down, his eyes travelling between the window and his book. He remembered his promise. He wouldn't let them hurt the girl- and his seven year old logic said that since his door was very much locked, they could only get in through the window. He was on guard for awhile, but soon the sun shining in through the window relaxed him... And the peaceful sounds of sleeping people and animals and tousling kittens drew him into one of his usual naps, his head lolling forward and his eyes slipping closed. Freize used to think he was narcoleptic, but the truth was that when Spiro felt tired he just decided to sleep. He never fought it or anything. He found no reason to.

She relaxed into the fur of the canine, slowly drifting off into a deep sleep. Normally her moments of sleep were dreamless. Well.. not quite dreamless. It was just one thing though, a giant empty void with her in it.
Though sometimes it was comforting in a way. She knew she was alone there, and that was good sometimes.

This time was different, she was there. The same place, but there was a boy there... she couldn't quite make out who he was, but it made her nervious. Mama...? She blinked as the demon appeared, taking her into her arms. Ani immediatly latched onto her, giggling happilly. Then her father was there. It was all so... wonderful.
She paused a moment, looking off to the boy. "Who..?"
Her mother set her down, despite her protesting. Brushing a few strands of hair from the childs face she gave her a tiny push towards the boy. She took a few steps, giving a confused look. her mother told her to go to him, arms slipping around her husbands waist. Telling the child in a hushed voice to go to him.
Ani blinked, slowly walking foreward towards the other. As she got closer it started to become more clear.

Then a scream came from behind her, there it was again, the same scene.. No.. Not again.
Run ani! RUN.
her mothers voice screamed at her. The half-breed's eyes filled with tears. Unable to flee as her parents begged her. Then... They were killed. Infront of her eyes again, it was all so real. Just like before.
She turned and fled, with THEM close behind her.

Colliding with the boy just before everything stopped

The girl awoke with a start, staring at the dog infront of her. Tears allready streaming down her face. But she didn't make a noise, just laid there quietly trying to forget again.

The dog's head turned slightly as the girl seemed to somehow change during her sleep... You know animals, and their strong connection with human emotions. After she awoke he licked her cheek and tilted his head, letting out a small whine. Something didn't seem right to Dakota. Spiro, on the other hand, was completely and utterly oblivious. Most likely because he was still asleep. He was even oblivious to the fact one of the kittens had gotten their head stuck in one of his combat boots and was now running around the room blindly. She'd run into him a few times, too, knocking the book out of his lap. The halfbreed could be a heavy sleeper sometimes.

He was having the same dream he always had. There was fire. All he could see was fire and blood and thousands of voices were coming at him at once. These dreams used to scare him, but not really anymore... But sometimes, when he was awake, he'd think about them and they'd almost make him cry so he'd draw out his dreams on paper to let them out. And then he'd hide them away.

She smiled faintly, rubbing the dog's ears as she burried her face into his fur once more. Telling herself it was gone, trying to think of somethign else... Like. Spiro. Spiro was nice... She felt safe around him. Like she did around her parents. Or had...
She glanced outside the window. She'd been asleep awhile. She didn't feel tired anymore though. That was good. Slowly she moved to peer over the side of the bed at the boy. Just her eyes peeking over the edge as she watched him curiously.

He was.. what she was right? He lived on earth though. The demons and angels weren't after him... But why? The whole thing was really too much for her young mind to figure out.
