In a silent corner of HQ, Aulii was sitting on his knees, stacking bricks on top of each other methodically. He was making a ginormous castle. Of course... it looked nothing like a castle and was not near as big as he thought it was, but it was a ginormous castle and he was proud. He plopped down on his diapered butt when he thought it was finished and clapped his hands excitedly, he then scanned the room to see if there was anyone who might be admiring his work. Like any toddler, he desired attention.

Kurt re-entered the HQ, in his hunt for his family it had become just as the name suggests, his head quarters. Beside, with the storm coming in, he preferred to be safely inside. There was also no telling if Sy would need him still so he liked to be around.
Better with the observations, he scanned the room. The pile of blocks and the red hair alerted him to a child in the room. Approaching, he spotted the toddler, and smiled instantly. He liked kids, loved them so he was drawn to the toddler. "That is a big building you got there, nice work!" Building was safe, it was something and he doubted that there would be anything animal or plant being built out of blocks.

Aulii smiled widely, a smile minus a few teeth that were still growing in. He was quite happy to have been noticed by someone, and to receive praise, he liked that. "Big b-..." he started, but the word the adult had used was way to big for Aulii to try and tackle. "Big big. Cat-til." The toddler tried to explain that it was a castle. Aulii removed the paper umbrella that was behind his ear and set it on top, now his castle had a flag.

Smiling back at the boy, he settled to sit on the ground near him and his work. It took him a second, longer then his pride believed it should have taken, for him to connect a building sounding like cattil. Watching his actions, Kurt responded, "That is the perfect flag for a big castle. Now who is king of this castle?" When playing with a child he liked to exaggerate his tone, he played with a more serious one now. Having a king of a castle was a serious matter after all.
This he missed, spending time with the little kids, reminded him of his own family. Only difference was Sebell would make them move on their own which was much more disconcerting then this adorable act.

Aulii pursed his lips together, trying to look thoughtful, that's what pae were supposed to do when asked a question. King, king, king, king, sure he knew what that was from stories. His face finally lit up, and he looked over his head to see if a lightbulb has appeared like they are supposed to. It hadn't, and Aulii was a little disappointed, but he had an idea anyways. He folded his hand into a fist and pushed his thumb firmly against his chest. "I King!" he exclaimed. He then pointed his index finger at the adult and pushed it against his chest. "You is..." Aulii tried to remember other words for things that went in a castle.

Kurt watched the young toddler; it was fascinating trying to figure out what was going though his little head. When the boy looked up, Kurt rose his own eyes seeking out what the baby was looking for, he didn't see anything either. Looking back, he smiled at the boy, the idea was grabbed but the name he was fishing for was not forthcoming.
Before he could outright ask, it seemed the child was not done. Waiting, he was content to let the child continue. Supplying his own answer, what the child was thinking he wasn't sure, "I am your loyal knight, Kurt." Since he couldn't right out bow in show, he inclined his head at least then asked. "What is the King's name?" He was in no hurry, spending some time playing with an adorable little man like this was a perfect day.

"Knight..." Aulii repeated, he thought about it. "Yeah, otay, you be dat!" he agreed. Aulii slowly stood himself up, so that he was a little more level with the sitting adult, and tapped his index finger on each of Kurt's shoulders, knighting him. "Knight!" Aulii declared to the kingdom of the empty room. "Aulii" he said his name as he allowed himself to plop back onto the floor.

It was official; Aulii was one of the most adorable children he had ever seen. At being actually knighted, he said, "I am honored." This was the first time he was knighted, a very special day in his life.
Someone read this boy fairy tales, he approved. Smiling he spoke again, "It is great to serve King Aulii. Dose the King need anything of his knight." Speaking simple was best, but he had to relearn to speak like that after so long.

Aulii clapped his hands together, he had done a good job being King, made his own castle and knighted his own knight, he felt so accomplished now. "Good King!" Aulii exclaimed in his pride. Aulii was thinking if he needed anything, he frowned. He had needed attention before and now he had it, he liked this attention very much. "Need... more castles!" A good king needed more places to rule, that was it. He pulled the box of blocks over so that it was in between them.

Kurt nodded enthusiastically, "A very good king!" Sitting there, one hand holding his ankle as he made himself comfortable, he watched the child waiting to be a part of that imaginary world.
Castles, he was right, a bigger kingdom was essential. "Lead the building, wise king." Picking up a block himself, he paused to wait and see what Aulii wanted to do.

Aulii smiled, pleased with the complement. He liked his loyal knight. Aulii picked up a few blocks swiftly and set them in his lap. "Uh, make big!" He looked at the other castle he had made, though it was quite big in his eyes he wanted to make something bigger. "Bigger!" he said, pointing at his last castle. He started to stack the blocks on top of each other, going for tall rather then wide.

Thats what the loyal night was for, he determined as he watched the baby try to build. For every block up, Kurt would surround it by blocks on all sides. King Aulii could decide how high to build his castle, he was only interested in making sure said castle didn't come crashing down on its king.
Team work, the secret to success, it was a great practical lesson for a child his age.

Aulii watched Kurt's method of building a castle closely. He sure made castles strange, at least to Aulii. "Up?" he asked the man pointing at the castle he wanted the castle to go up higher so that he could see all the kingdom, it seemed like a waste of resources to make it go wider. He continued to stack the blocks up though.

Hearing the child, he could tell that this was strange to the boy. Looking at the work, he puzzled a few moments to figure out how to explain the concept to the child. Taking three blocks to the side he says, "Up, and it won't fall easy, see." Putting four more blocks and the tower was already leaning off, all it took was a poke for it to come falling down. The clash of blocks was unheeded. To the castle they were building, he said, "No leaning." Giving it a poke, there was no falling or clunking of wood, having the supports around it made it steadier.
Granted, he was no engineering expert.

"Lee-knee..." Aulii repeated, trying to pay attention to the blocks. His other castle was leaning a little bit too. He frowned with furrowed eyebrows at this frustration. He could not have leaning castles, if he did bad peoples would knock them over and that would not be nice. "Make no Lee-knee!" He proclaimed with as much authority as he had.
