Naira often thought of her pack, she missed them in her own way, but once she was full grown and the others realized that the browns in her coat would never give way to full orange she had been outcast. She might have tried to stay despite the social stigma of her coat, she was as good a huntress as any orange coat, but the look in her sisters eyes had driven her away. Her own sister was ashamed of her and her sister was the alpha of their pack. Her ears fell back at the memory of her departure.
Kala...I think I'll be going now, I know that I don't quite fit in here anymore.Thats probably for the best Naira, mother and father wouldn't want you to stay. They wouldn't want you to be unhappy that is.I will miss you Kala. She had turned then walking away, slinking away in so much shame. Kalama had just watched her, the whisper had come then much softer, but she pretended not to hear it. If she turned back now she would loose the courage she needed to leave her home...forever.I'll miss you too Nai Nai...Naira pushed the memory away and slipped out of her den, she needed to cheer up. Many moons had passed since she had left the pack and they had certainly allowed her to fade from their memories, it was time to live for herself instead of wondering what might have been. The day was beautiful, magical and she slowly smiled as she leapt over a small stream the sun reflecting of the water and making it sparkle.

The male couldn't help but stay in the lands that he had met his one and only friend. He had claimed a small cove in the area. A den that fit him, and maybe another body should the body be small.
He blinked, his eyes opening slowly, their hazel color gleaming with the suns rays. It was morning, and he was just awakening for the first few hours of the day. He yawned, tongue curling before resting peacefully in his maw once more.
He stood, body stretching as he loosened his muscles from the nights sleep.
He missed her.. His thoughts were on her alot lately, and he couldnt seem to rid himself of her memory. Not that he'd want to, they were friends after all.. But he wanted a bit more.
His liver colored nose twitched as he perked his head, ready for the day.
Maybe I'll find her today.. Maybe she'll come looking.

Naira turned to gaze into the crystal stream watching the water ripple and move past, she leaned in and frowned slightly. Her face was almost all orange, it was her ears and the markings around her nose and eyes...not pure white marks but a dusty color mixed with dirt brown. She had been so close though...and everyone had believed the dark colors would wash away, faded by time and shed with summer into pure orange and white. She blinked back tears and bent to drink her lapping tongue distorting her reflection.
If only she had company to distract her from her painful memories...someone...a friend...a friend like Oz. She gulped some more water and then moved to stand in the stream letting the icy cool water cut past her. It reminded her of her fishing lesson, he said he would stay in the area...and now she missed him...she had thought of him in the days and nights but not with as fierce a longing as she had now. Why hadn't he come to visit her? Perhaps he was busy making new friends, or perhaps he had found a better spot for his den...far from here. The thought made her heart ache strangely, she dipped her head under the water a moment before lifting it and shaking off. She had to break this horrid mood.

Thirst drove the male on, and the sound of the river made his mouth water in anticipation. He gave a smile, his tail flagging through the air as it wagged. He carried himself alot like a dog, moreso than the stealth of a wolf.
He smiled, but the smile was short lived as she entered his thoughts once more. He hoped she hadn't forgotten him.. Maybe life in her pack had changed, and she had decided that life there was everything she had ever wanted. If that was the case, he would try to be happy for her.. But the sadness wouldnt leave for a good while.
He wasnt sure what the feeling inside was called.. Other than he was completely infatuated with the beautiful female that had been so kind to him.
He had continued to think of Naira as he walked, and as he made it to the river, he looked up in surprise. There, staring back at him, were bright green eyes.. Such lovely bright eyes.
"Naira.." He whispered.

"Oz!" She smiled instantly the morose memories of her pack pushing her away were gone. In an instant all she could think of, all she could see was how warm and welcoming he was towards her.
She leapt over the stream with a splash and playfully bumped against him. She wanted to tell him she had missed him, but she didn't want him to think she was desperate for company...though she was. Still his company wasn't just anything it wasn't inter-changable, Oz was special. He had a way of putting her at ease, and making her feel as if the whole world was open for them to explore and enjoy. He made her feel as if she really could do anything if she tried, if he was there to help her.
"I missed you..." She finally said, she had to be honest and if there was one thing she knew it was that sometimes you never got the chance to say what you felt or meant, better to say it while you could.

Her words caused a wag from his tail and he smiled. He was glad to hear that she had missed him, as he had missed her as well. Something about her made his heart race, and it had from the moment he had met her. The fishing lesson had gone well it seemed.
"I have missed you too, Naira.. Its been a little while. You shouldnt leave me for so long anymore." He chuckled, approaching her and taking a seat, not wanting to invade her space..Though wanting so badly to snuggle on her. He wasnt sure if they were quite there yet, or if she would allow such closeness.
She was a wounded heart, and he wanted to heal that wound.
"How have you been?"

She relaxed as she saw his tail move, and he had missed her as well, which was the best thing she had heard all day. She sat back her posture open and calm as she smiled at the male. "I know I'll have to hunt you down next time so we can be alone together." She laughed softly.
"I'm better now that you're here, I was in sore need of company." She admitted though she was loathe too. She just wasn't comfortable alone, then again what wolf was? She had been born to a pack, she had family, she was just isolated from them completely.
She eyed Oz for a long moment before jerking her head away surprised with herself for staring. He was just so...handsome, which was strange because she had been raised to only see bright males as handsome. A pelt like Oz's, like hers, was a muddy stain on her former society.

He purred, almost like a cat would but it was obvious that he was no cat. "I think I like the sound of that." He teased, winking at her. He hung his tongue from his mouth and smiled his big goofy smile. His eyes softening.
"Im afraid I havent seen anyone since I met you.. Its been so lonely. You reminded me of what I was missing." He said, nodding and wagging his tail again a little more.
"If you promise not to leave me, I promise not to leave you." He whispered.

"This part of the forest is quiet, have you found a den near here?" That would explain why he hadn't stumbled upon anyone else. She was almost happy for it, but the emotion was too selfish to fully manifest itself in her.
She felt her heart give a contented little skip her eyes brightening at his tongue lolling smile. He was such fun, an injection of life and laughter where she had thought there would no longer be any. The great spirits punished those with stained coats, but Oz...he looked blessed. She felt blessed being able to have him there.
"I wouldn't leave...you're too good a friend." She moved in to lick his cheek.
