Have you EVER seen a billboard mentioning something like, "Life. God's Choice." or something along those lines? What are your thoughts when you see this, not necessarily "Oh well I hate abortion" but the religious portion.
I personally think it's a bit degrading because it does make me feel targeted as an atheist. It's like it's telling me "Atheists kill babies". There is one around my local area that is just a mere sign, but I've always been tempted to get a spray can and write "God's Word Means Nothing" being as I see it EVERYDAY it just eats me how they think that if God says it people will agree because I know many Christians who are completely neutral on the subject. What I want to do to them may seem antagonizing, but hell that's just me.
What about YOU?

Yup, I hate 'em too. Mostly because of the hypocrisy of the whole thing. If I put up a sign saying "Tired of having your decision made for you? Atheism. Think for yourself." people would call the owner, write the town, threaten me, and maybe even tear it down.
They wouldn't want to see my billboard, so I don't see why I should have to see theirs.

I don't think I've ever seen a billboard with god mentioned in it.

There are so many of those where I live. DX "Will the road you're on get you to my place? -God" "Have you read my best-seller? There will be a test -God" I hate them so much. I grimace every time I see one.

I don't see any of them around my place, but if I did, I might be a little upset. I'd like to put one up promoting Atheism, but that would be a waste of money as it would more than likely be vandalized or taken down within a day.

You know ... this really makes me want to put up a billboard, because you KNOW it will bug the crap out of religious people, but they do the same things to us. As long as it's just saying something about atheism and not offending another religion.
The one that bugs me the most is: In God we trust, United we stand.

Around here it's always "Don't make me come down there. -God" or "Wanna come to my house before the game? - God" or "Going the wrong way? God allows u-turns." Welcome to the Bible Belt. rolleyes

Yeah, I noticed a lot on my family trip to Florida last summer. The farther south we went, the more frequent and pushy they were. My favorite was right outside of Florida on the highway. First there was a billboard advertising and "ADULT TOY SUPERSTORE! NEXT EXIT!" Very next billboard had an all black background and bold white text: "HELL IS REAL!"
And then a lot of religious-themed pro-life billboards on the way to and from small-town Minnesota when we go to visit our family. But those don't bother me so much.

I can't stand to see all that religious stuff on bill boards like that. I just barely moved from Utah, and everywhere I turned it was "Mormon, Mormon, Mormon". I can't stand all of that Mormon-y Christian stuff everywhere. In the news, on the billboards, in the schools... And I refused to shop at either of the two "Mormon" stores, Dan's and Bowman's. Refused. I just get so sick and tired of all that Christian stuff, especially in a society where I am a persecuted minority. I love defending myself, (debate class ruled), but it just gets to be too much some times. Grr. But luckily I got out of there. Hopefully California won't be so "preachy".

It'll get shot down faster than "The Golden Compass" did. Quote: Hopefully California won't be so "preachy". I have a feeling it will be worse.

I think I've seen one or two when I was on road trips, but I don't exactly remember what they said. Oh, I remember there this last X'mas, I was at Disney World, and someone paid an airplane to write "JESUS heart U" in the sky with white smoke. I hated it. Raised this disgusted feeling inside me.
Anyway, if any signs were located near my neighborhood, I would hate it, especially if I have to see it everyday to and from school.
I agree with Dathu, if they would tear down an atheist sign so they won't have to see it, then why do I have to see their sign?
Trumpet man: I'm sorry but I'm afraid California isn't much better. Despite its stereotypical image that it's a liberal state it's actually pretty close-minded here.

I've only seen one of those types of billboards but it doesn't bother me much. I just don't pay attention to it.
