Bell McMahon stepped off the bus as it came to the stop at the park. After her encounter earlier that day, she had bought a new blouse, and stopped for lunch, before deciding to do good on her self-promise to spend the rest of the day at the park!
The park was green and lush, with long walkways, and a small waterway where children were skipping rocks. There was a rhythmic screech of the swings on the play ground, and laughter, and a ‘bop, bop’ of people playing tennis.

Bell took to the walk way, carefully avoiding children running about, without a care in the world, after their Frisbee. It was a fairly cool day for summer, and it seemed she wasn’t the only one who had decided to make the most of it.
Benches that lay along the way often were either empty, or held happy couples - young and old. Bell somewhat wished that she had a boyfriend with whom she could enjoy her time here with, but it really wasn’t a good idea when one was ‘in the acting business’. It made things quite awkward when given a roll where you are supposed to be in love with another man! That, and her time was fairly well consumed. So, Bell decided to save herself the trouble.

Besides, being alone wasn’t so bad! Maybe she should call up some of the girls from her troupe, and they could enjoy the park together! Oh no, that’s right, they were off on a summer trip.
Sigh~

What a crazy day it had turned out to be. A full morning of work in her garage, a quick trip to several stores, and she had to fit lunch in there at some time. She had (literally) run into several people, but that was due to her carelessness. That much Ellie would admit to herself. And thinking back on it, maybe she didn't do the right thing in every situation. However, she shrugged it off, figuring that might have been one of those "once in a lifetime" meetings.

With all her new supplies in her ruddy little backpack, she walked back towards her house. There were several shortcuts she could take, however, the blond picked one that was much more relaxing than the rest. The park cut out about ten minutes from her walk home, and the scenery was always so nice.

Hoisting her arms behind her head, Ellie let out a sigh. "So... the last day of summer, eh?" She could hardly believe it had gone by so fast. Her eyes began to drift up towards the sky as she thought about school starting up. She'd be able to talk with some of the boys again, be able to get a grade off of fixing up old machines, have something more to work on in the evenings...

So caught up with her thoughts and her own priorities, she once again had managed to bump into yet another unlucky victim. "Oh... s'cuse me..." her eyes glanced down and found a familiar face. Oh crap.

Bell bit her lip for a moment, before finally speaking, taking that moment to calm down slightly;
“This is getting to be a bit of a habit for you, isn‘t it? And before you go calling me ‘missy‘..” she said real quick, before the girl could get a word in. “My name is Bell McMahon. If we’re going to be running in to each other so often, you might as well know my name.”

Not that Bell really wanted to be running in to this girl enough to be on a first name basis. Still, they lived in the same town, so it was unavoidable. At least this time she hadn’t received a stain as an unwanted ‘welcome present.’

"Heh," she initially offered, sounding more uncertain than anything. "Sorry about earlier... in a bit of a rush."

Then little Missy gave an introduction. A half-thought out one at best. A name is a good thing, but what sort of introduction doesn't have a hearty handshake. In an attempt to fix this dilemma, she held out her hand for a firm handshake. In a genuinely cheery voice, she offered "S'pose we got off on th'wrong foot. Name's Ellie. Ellie Spectre." If this girl took her hand, she'd find a rather hardy (and masculine) handshake. What was the point in meeting someone if you couldn't even put some effort into a good handshake.

((OOC: Sorry if this is a bit too rambly xd ))

Bell looked at her hand warrily, remembering both her nasty backpack and the oil stain she had received just by their earlier run in. She could only imagine...

"I think I'll pass this time if that's alright.." Bell gave a small smile.

'Cause 1: she had nothing to clean her hands with and,
2:...well she didn't really have a "2".

Ellie's lips stretched out into an uncertain expression. So the Academy taught young ladies how to be polite and all that crap, and yet it seemed the simplest of manners were being skipped over? Not accepting Bell's response, Ellie took Bell's hand in her own anyways. Her hand squeezed a bit, but that was because it was how you knew if you were giving a good handshake or not.

"Well, Missy McMahon, surprised ya'd want t'miss out on a 'proper' greeting!" she chuckled out now that she had the other girl's hand.

With three firm shakes, she released the girl's hand. One of the things she had noticed when she held this girl's hand was how clean and dainty it was. As the saying in Africa went: Someone who has smooth and clean hands means that they don't do a stitch of good ol' fashioned work. She kept this observation to herself, but now she had an idea as to why this girl had insisted on purchasing new clothing rather than cleaning up her old clothing.

“Well, maybe I was trying to operate on your level.” Bell said as she examined her hand. Note to self - buy some wipes to keep around.

Oh, Ellie would be surprised at just how much hard work Bell really did. It did, after all, take a little effort to swing a hammer, to set up walls, paint sets, sew costumes, drag and lift props on and off stage, and what not! Definitely when you seemed to be the only one willing to do it without complaint, or the stage manager having to ‘crack the whip’ so to speak. So no, Bell was definitely not alien to ‘hard work.’

That comment was worthy of getting hit, and Ellie's hand naturally curled up into a fist, tempted to punch this prissy Academy girl. However, such a right was reserved for guys usually, since they seemed to get the idea better with some sort of violence.

"Look, Missy McMahon. I don't know what sort of ideas y'have about schools other than yer own, but last I checked, bare basic manners are something everyone deserves." If this girl knew what was good for her, she'd probably stop belittling around now, or there seriously might end up being some shots taken.

Bell, watching the tension in the girl, was rather amused. And to think, all this because Bell meerly wished to opt out of shaking hands! From what she had always been taught, it could simply be substituted with a nod, or small bow. Daddy greeted other business men with such. She really didn't like hand to hand contact anyway - that was an easy way to spread germs, and she didn't want to be bed-ridden the first week of school! Oh, and illness was coming! The outbreaks always started once school was back in session!

"Now, now, violence is certainly not going to help you, if you wish to disprove your school's reputation. Now me, I had personally never held any bias,...that is untill our litteral run-in. I can't help it if you're proving all the tales true." Bell said with sweetness, and innocence, put foward. Even going so far as to acompany it with a smile.
"It would appear that you came in to our chance meeting with a bias against me and my school."

"If I was going t'hit ya, I would have already done it," she stated bluntly. This was one of those things Ellie couldn't stand about girls in general. Rather than be out with their emotions, they'd candy coat it, try to look like your best friend, then use vicious rumors to do away with their victim. And based off how this girl was acting, she was no different than the rest. At least guys got it right by physically pummeling each other, then being done with it.

"Well, Missy Bell McMahon. All I know is you go to Crystal Academy. And that's all I'll be tellin' anyone." Being the type of girl she was, she'd never start a rumor and more than likely would keep this whole scenario to herself. Knowing when she had enough time dealing with one of the same gender, she once again resumed her walk back to her house. She waved a hand, whether she felt like the girl deserved it or not. After all, those were a simple thing called manners, and everyone deserved those.
