The dark clouds were seemingly always close. The rainy season. He liked and hated it. His fur hung down in clumps from the last rain and it was all but impossible to keep his mane out of his eyes. He padded along the unfamiliar terrain with a sense of nerves. Something seemed... off. He could sense a dangerous vibe in the air. Was he in a bad territory? Or was the combination of the darkness and the weather?
The male lion shifted his dual colored eyes to the horizon as the thunder clapped. He was tired-almost completely exhausted. He'd traveled all the way from the ocean without much stop for rest. All he wanted was a warm, dry place to sleep. Away from the dangerous rivers he'd already run into.
He sniffed. The rain was holding back for at least a little while. He just had to keep pushing forward.

Kaimel had only recently taken to patrolling the borders of the pride. Granted, he wasn't an adult, and Moto wasn't completely happy about her apprentice straying along the borders... But it was a part of growing up. One had to expand their horizons, take risks... And Kaimel had taken a big risk not long ago when he had fought during the invasion...
But it had led to something he'd never imagined happening. That night, in the middle of moving the cubs to a safe location and fighting to protect them, he'd discovered Absconditus. A demon of his own. Granted, it was a benign demon, but it made him a demon all the same.
The young lion shook his head, clearing his wandering thoughts and tossing his growing black mane out of his eyes. He was patrolling the borders now. And while it was sometimes a good excuse to think, he had a job to do. And it was only then that he spotted a white form in the distance.
There was no doubt that wasn't a demon, but the creature was straying too close to demon territory. Without a second thought Kaimel trotted forward, angling himself so he'd meet up with the pale form in the distance.

The muscular male lion paused in his soft trot to pant and swivel his ears. He was listening for anything out of the ordinary, his eyes searching behind him first then slowly making their way back to the front. He stiffened as he caught sight of a flash of gold coming toward him in the darkness.
Another lion? Was this an attack? He pushed his weight onto his hind legs and let out a gruff warning. Even tired and exhausted he'd put up a fight if he needed to. But what if the form was friendly? He didn't look like a full adult lion. At least he was missing a good amount of mane. Still he kept his defensive posture just in case. "Who are you?" He called when the younger lion was close enough. His voice was friendly but a bit suspicious at the same time. He'd heard this was a dangerous way to go but knew very little about the 'demons'.

"I'm Kaimel, of the Mwako'bi'Giza. I came to warn you. You're straying a bit too close to the Aikanaro'hini. If they see you, they're likely to take you as a slave," Kaimel said calmly, stopping a good lion-length from Chinedu. He could see the other lion wasn't at ease, so he wouldn't press too close. At least not until he'd alleviated the older lion's fears.

The lion relaxed slightly, his tail flicking softly now. "Slave? Why would anyone enslave other?" He pulls himself to his feet and starts toward Kaimel. "I am Chinedu... I am currently prideless and a wanderer." He said glancing to his side. "Do you know much about these demons?"

"I wish I knew why. But I have a feeling if I knew, I'd only be of their mindset," Kaimel explained, laughing softly and flicking his tail. "I know enough. The Mwako'bi'Giza was founded to combat the demons."

He snorts and approaches the other lion, sniffing lightly at him. "I think that'd be a terrible waste.... Combat? You fight demons? Are they actually demons? Or just lions?" He asked curiosity in his voice.

"Well, not everyone in the pride fights the demons. I'm a Mfuma, a healer. And they're lions... Lions with demonic souls," Kaimel explained, grinning and staying still so Chinedu could get a good whiff of him.

"A healer?" He questioned his interest sparked as he started forward. "Demonic souls? I have never heard of such a thing. Can you tell me how to get away from their territory? I don't want to get near them if I can help it."

"Well, you could cut through the Mwako'bi'Giza. We'd be happy to host you as long as you're aware of the dangers that come with being close to the Aikanaro'hini," Kaimel said lightly, nodding his head towards the lands.

Chinedu gave him a smile. "That sounds wonderful. I understand and I can protect myself, trust me. So how did you come across this pride?" He questions glancing toward where he nodded. It was a start and he heads in that direction.

"I was born here. My dad was the first one to come here. He met my teacher, the Mwezi, I believe. And then my mother found her way here... They'd been mates even before they came here, but they were separated," Kaimel said softly, trotting into the lead so Chinedu wouldn't get lost.

"It must be great to have them both then. I only know my father..." He responds slowing a bit to allow him ahead. "I'm searching for a pride myself. I was raised by a troupe of different animals but I've always wondered what a pride is like."

"Well, if you were raised by a bunch of different species, you might like it here. We allow all species here. If they understand the risks, they're welcome in the pride," Kaimel said softly, glancing back at Chinedu with a smile. "Maybe you should stay for a few days and get a feel for the pride. Who knows! You might like it and decided to stay!"

The lion looked plenty interested in the idea and trotted up to be beside the other male. "Risks?" He questions thoroughly interested. "That sounds good... I'm rather tired and I haven't been eating to well. The game has been on the move a lot." He smiled at the other male. He was rather good looking, he noticed as he observed his markings and certainly friendly. Not on that but he was a healer. Gentle. He liked that.
