Bae moved with strong, bouncy strides. He found that the more he travelled the easier it seemed to be. He could trot along like this for hours on end so long as he paced himself and didn't go too quickly. He paused, of course, when the sun reached its zenith and took shelter wherever possible. And, when the sun began to dip, he moved on again, continuing his effortless stride across the seemingly neverending plains.
"Follow orange, you said, right?"
"Follow orange. Follow orange. Right, right." His parrot familiar squawked from above him, flying only a short distance ahead. The bird's bright green feathers were stunningly bright beneath the touch of the sun.
"This way. This way."
"Are you sure, Hister?" The lion enjoyed the company of the quirky little fellow, but sometimes he wondered whether he hadn't put too much faith in this seer of his.
He sighed and continued onwards.

Malika'eusi heaved a sigh as she glanced back over her shoulder. She had been traveling for days now, she had lost track of the actual amount but it was of no matter. Her children, the ones who had stayed in the pridelands, were full-grown adults and could care for themselves now, not that she didn't miss them but it made her realize that perhaps it was time to move on.
There were simply too many sad memories in those lands. Happy ones too but they just left her sad in the end. "Good-bye Sekizen," she mumbled shaking her head as she looked away. It was time to let go of the past and move forward. It was just time to move on.
So that was what had led her to her current position, she was wandering without real purpose just trying to see more of the world. She knew that traveling alone was not wise yet she continued along anyway. There wasn't much that she could go through anymore.

"Bae! Bae! To your right! Your right!" Hister called, tilting a wing and cutting an arch down in front of the male lion in an attempt to divert his attention in the direction he was indicating.
"Look!"
Bae did as he was told, turning his head to the right. He spotted her, not too far off and smiled a little. "She's not orange, Histie." He replied and changed his path to move towards her. She was the first lioness they had come across in a while. He was beginning to think they'd crossed into some unknown land where lions didn't travel.
What he would soon discover was that he was heading back into the heart of lion country. This girl would be the first of many.
"Hey there, traveller!" He called out. "Have time for a chat?"
