Who are your favourite artists? Who are you inspired by? Do you have any particular paintings or other art (sculpture, photographs etc) that stand out to you? Why?

I like so many but just to name a few of my favourites:

Jackson Pollock (artist) - people may think just throwing paint onto a canvas isn't art but there is alot more work than you think. There are compositions made up of the way the paint is laid on the canvas...the angle of your brush, the direction of the paint splat, the colours. There is so much detail. I love his work.

Wassily Kandinsky (artist) - I love the abstract lines and shapes and colours..some of them are very harmonious and they always make me feel peaceful. his compositions are wonderful.

Yousuf Karsh (photographer) - the strong contrast in his portraits make them look really dramatic and the detail and textures of skin are really sharp.

Sarah Lucas (installation artist) - some people might not like modern art but I love the way she uses objects to represent metaphors, slang and speech.

Svelana Valuvea (painter) I love her paintings, they are very inspirational. And since I am a big fan of the human figure, she is one of my favorites. I love the flowyness of her paintings too (I would suggest googling her because I haven't found an 'offical' website of her's)

Mehmet Turgut (photographer) His photos are amazing! (in my opinion) I've drawn a few portraits from his photos (And he has a cool mustache wink ) I love his "This is My Unlived.." series, this series stands out in my mind http://mehmeturgut.deviantart.com/

Justin Cherry (concept artist) His work is very inspirational, and his style is fantastic. His pieces have great mythology tied to them as well http://www.nivbed.com/

Barnaby Ward (artist) I love his style, and his interpretaion of alice in wonderland is so neat! http://www.somefield.com/

MY BROTHER!!! he's the first person who introduced me to art, he is my inspiration since I was born 3nodding He recently graduated with graphic animation degree from CSUF and MAN he can DRAW LIke OMG

My favorite two artists are Anne Stokes, and Ralph Horsely (They draw some popular Dragons, DnD, WoW, Magic cards and the like) I'm not a fan of DnD, WoW or Magic, but their art work is amazing!.

I was inspired to draw by a book by Patricia Wrede called, Calling on Dragons. I don't know why, but inspiration comes from strange sources no?
