These woods seemed so familiar. It had been forever since she'd traveled this far...and now she began to recognize it. Old territories that belonged to her family, which she'd only visited once or twice to see her brother. It seems that everything was abandoned, however, and the old dens were caving in and unkempt. It was depressing.
Frowning slightly, Selia took a few weary steps towards the river that was parallel to the gathering of dens where she'd first seen her nieces and nephews...where her own children had played and met their cousins.
Sitting at the mouth of what she knew was Haku's and his previous mate's den, the female sighed heavily and looked around. No sign of life at all. Nile had been trailing a familiar scent. She could have sworn she knew it, it was so similar to her own...but still off, so she knew it couldn't be a sibling.
With her nose to the ground and her eyes ascended to foliage-level, the younger wolf poked her head through some underbrush--and right into the lands of her old home. How...odd. Was it an old pack mate, or something? Maybe her nose was lying to her.
Giving another few sniffs here and there, she managed to spot who she had been stalking...Selia. Her aunt. Nile's head popped up instantly and she tried to make a few whimpering noises--but alas, still nothing came from her throat. Looking around quickly, she took back off into the bushes to try and find a way around the long clearing that lead to her family member, so she didn't have to make a mad-dash through the field and be exposed to any predators or other wolves.

It had been how long since his entire pack ran off..? Thinking about it still caused bile to rise to his throat, but he did what he could not to think about it. Slowly, the large black and orange wolf made his way back onto his packlands, where he once was King along side Lera. Trees had grown, most of the paths hidden from sight since they were abandoned. The land could be reworked, replotted.. He could truely be a very good leader once more.
Never the wolf he had been, but an even better one.
Perhaps.. he could take care of this. He worked a single paw into the ground, his right ear ever twitching. With a gust of wind, he caught a familiar scent, causing the corners of his maw to tug in a slight smile.
..Selia..
With a new found contentment, he moved towards his old den to try to find his sister.

Selia sighed heavily to herself and looked around once more, then down to the floor of the den. All that remained were her own pawprints, when their used to be an assortment of pups' tiny prints and everyone else's. She longed to visit her own old packgrounds.
Her ears twitched a bit, perking forward at the sound of approaching steps. Had she wandered onto another wolf's territory? Standing instantly, the small wolf lifted her head and tail--taking up that alpha-pose she had so many years ago. Instantly she let her tail and head drop just slightly, in case it just so happened to be a pack of other wolves. Challenging them wasn't a good idea.
However, Selia perked once more when she saw familiar markings. Swallowing thickly, the wolf slowly took a few steps forward, before breaking into a gallop. It was her brother! She couldn't believe it. A familiar face, familiar smell...she could have cried. Her tail started to wag eagerly, while she dropped her ears back and began to nuzzle at his neck and jaw, so excited her entire body began to wiggle with how strong the wags of her tail were, "Haku! Haku, I cant believe it, I thought you'd moved on.."

The moment he heard his sister's movements, he picked up his own speed, meeting her in an almost tackle. "Selia.. It's good to see you.." His voice was a bit gruff, trying to hide the emotions. Alpha males were not supposed to show such emotion, really. "I did leave.. for a while. It was hard without my pack behind me, without my mate. I decided it was time to come back and start over, though. I can't believe you're here as well."
"You've grown up so much," He pawwed a little at the other's shoulder, nipping at the furr of her neck in a playful manner. "But you're still the same wolf inside, hm? I guess some things never change." His tail wagged a mile a minute behind him, every piece of being showing the excitement he felt from seeing his sister.
Once he let the female wolf go he stood back, his head still held high in that same Alpha manner. But he was not challanging his sister, he would never do that.

"Me? Look at you! You've gotten bigger!" They were so young when they had their packs. Uneducated in the ways of raising families and holding packs...now they were smart, keen on surviving and being able to keep themselves and their loved ones protected.
She hoped.
"Of course I'm the same, silly," she plopped onto her rear and a very puppy-sit manner, her legs disorderly and not very suited for an alpha as she had been. Her tongue lulled from the side of her maw, now relaxed and no longer worried about being mauled over by enemy wolves. Not with her big brother around. 'Big' being just...physically larger. Really she was the older one.
"Do you not have anyone with you?" She thought that maybe, just maybe, someone would have stuck with him...but it seems not.

He preened when complimented, puffing up a little to show himself off. It was hard not to feel good at the way his sister acted, as though she was safe with him. Truth be told, she was. He would rather feel his body be torn to pieces than see anything happen to his sister.
They had been through a lot, all stemming from that single hunter's gunshot. Funny how things had changed throuh the years.
The mention of others made his chest burn a little, but he shook his head. "No. When Lera left me.. The pack fell apart. No one stayed behind. The pups moved on to grow up as they wanted.. Gaara became an alpha himself. I'm quite proud of him." There was almost a fatherly look in his eyes, then, even though Gaara was no where near close to his own cub.
"I'm not sure where my children are. But I know they are safe. They have our spirit, after all, hm?" Haku mused as he nudged the other's jaw. "What about you, Selia?"

Selia frowned a bit. Seems they were in the same situation. She nudged a bit closer to her brother, literally being able to sit under his chin while he stood. She couldn't get enough of his scent, so familiar, warm and safe. It was amazing. Fate had a reason for bringing them back together.
"I'm sorry.." She finally said, disliking how she'd brought something so painful. Looking up to him just as her jaw was nudge, Selia gave a small smile, "However, my mate also left me...I went in search of Feanaro, and after I found him...I got separated from him during a human raid. They were so strange looking...nothing like the two-leggeds that lived around here."
Glancing around quietly, she gritted her teeth, then nuzzled into his throat. "I'm sure they're all safe...they were all little fighters."
Finally, she'd found her way around to where she could come up behind Selia, past the dens. However, she saw another familiar wolf...and instantly her chest tightened and she managed a few soft whimpers of happiness, wobbling over to them with a low stands but a quickly wagging tail.
She had always been an omega, always the lowest rank...so even with her family she remained like this. Selia looked down at her and brightened, the smaller female looking up to her brother as if to say 'see?'
Still, Nile only managed some soft whimpers and mewls to show how excited she was to see her father, getting up to them with her body low to the ground. Through and through Haku had still been her alpha, her father. Everything seemed to be falling back into place.

If he could have started crying, he would have. "Nile.." He nuzzled into his daughter, contentment rushing through him like adrenaline. "You're safe."
Of all of his children, Nile was always the one he had worried the most for. She was a mute, an omega.. Still she was his daughter and nothing would make him lose the pride he always had for her. He started to take turns, nuzzling into them both as much affection as he had to give.
"Surely this is some sort of miracle.. Having both of you come back to me on these lands. A sign that taking over this area once more is meant to be."
There seemed to be enough life in the hunting area, enough room if he cleared out the old dens. He had a lot of work ahead of him and there was a chance he would be doing it alone, but it didn't matter. This moment could fuel him for the rest of his life if he needed to.
"Having both of you safe means the world to me."

Selia looked on as Nile approached. The markings she recognized, so she merely took a seat beside her brother and let him reunite with his daughter.
"Take over the lands? Like, take over the territory again?" She perked a bit, ears flicking forward while she looked over to Haku. She had to turn her head fully to get a look at him, because currently her blind eye was facing him. "That could be some work...would three wolves be enough..?" Packs were made up of five, six plus wolves...but with her brother and herself, they had the power, and with Nile as a third, they had a hunting team and defense.
Nile whimpered dryly, light breaths replacing the sounds of whimpers and whines. It was apparent she was still unable to speak, but she was trying. After the initial excitement was settled, she tucked herself to her father's chest. The she-wolf was very tiny, just like her mother had been, that and she had always been pretty petite to begin with.
Looking up to them when they started to talk about a pack, she blinked. Ever since her father's pack had broken up, she's been on her own--scavenging and managing to hunt small game to survive. She'd even taken some offers from the two-leggeds. They'd noticed how docile and fearful she was, so they felt bad for her.
She missed her mother in the sense that she could communicate with her, speak to her through her mind. She'd always had problems in the past and now the future of communicating, but she figured her father of all wolves would understand.

"We could do it, Selia." Haku murmured to his sister. "The two of us have experience as Alphas. Nile is strong, she is my daughter after all." He nuzzled into youngest wolf's furr, showing affection. "It just depends on if you're willing to help me figure it out, Selia. The three of us.. have been left by our pasts, but we could start a new future. A better one." A curt nod showed that he truly believed in his words. "You and I have done a lot together. Surely rebuilding is a bit easier than building for the first time. We have the paths laid out, the dens just need to be recleared.. I can spell deer in the hunting grounds."
He hadn't stopped nuzzling into his daughter's fur, but managed not to let it muffle his words too much. He had to protect her. And his sister, though she was much stronger and more capable of taking care of herself.
They had to be unafraid to face the future. Living the way he had been.. was not what he wanted for himself. All he wished for now was a successful pack. Even if it was only him, his sister and his daughter.
They were family, and they were what mattered.
"Are you in?" He gave a wolfish grin.
