Powers...her family had them, including herself. Winter could name off their powers, but when it came to herself, she could not. Her baby brothers knew theirs yet here she was, an adult, and she did not know. Was there anybody else that was in the same boat as her? Or did she just not have them?
She had decided today she would go to her favorite spot to think, a lake a few miles from her home. It was large and looked beautiful anytime of day or not. As she neared it, she could feel herself relax already, a soft smile crossing her mawl. It was a beautiful day today, and the sun's reflection looked wonderful.

Different... Wopk was that. Even surrounded by his family all of which had a difference of sort to the usual lion or lioness, dragon or dragoness he still felt in a world of his own. His two sisters inherited the vines and fruits from their father, whereas he got his fathers look but mothers variation of powers. Vulcan... his father, had gone missing for a while... Wopk didn't completely understand but mother had reassured him that they where all deeply loved and that nothing would change.
It had, to him anyway. His training and focusing sessions had for the most part only been his mother and himself, with one of his sisters joining occasionally when father wasn't training them on handling their fruits. Now however Mothers attention was all over the place, he saw the love in her eyes and understood that they were all adults now but still... He held his mother in high regard and enjoyed the time they spend together more than anything he'd ever known.
Today he was making the short stroll across their territory, there was only the five of them... well four now... friends came to visit occasionally but never stayed longer than a few days. He was in one sense the male of the pack as father was away, but he didn't feel much up to the role. Sandy and his sisters where far better and being in charge than him so today he'd go out and have some him time.
Headed across the boarder he went towards the nearby lake, just because he was on didn't mean he wouldn't sharpen his ability's. Each paw step he extended his aura to give him sight around him and kept a keen check on the wind speeds pressing against the ribbon attached to his wings.

Though she'd started her journey that day intending to reach a large lake, she'd instead ended up heading toward the edge of a large dense forest. She stopped abruptly and let out a soft sigh, realizing she'd be forced to go around it. Wandering a strange forest that appeared so thick no sunlight could penetrate it did not appeal to her. With a half hearted shrug, she turned and began moving along the edge, becoming lost in thought.
As she rounded a bend, a gust of wind brushed past her, causing her scarf to smack against her face. Letting out an indignant yelp of shock, she sat down and began fiddling with the red silk, trying to fix it so it would remain tucked neatly, out of her face.

Having no real knowledge of the dense forest he carried on towards it's boarders, keeping check of the wind speed and direction picking up and tugging at the ribbon on his back. Wopk's pace however hadn't faltered, he'd adjusted his steps to handle the change and carried on turning his head when the path in front looked clear. The only disadvantage to his ability was that it left him practically blind abide his aura which allowed him to see anything it touched in a clear outline of yellow.
His ears however worked fine, better than most bothered to train there's in fact to make up for the eye impairment. A muffled noise caught his attention as he turned and tried to extend his aura out to see it, failing to pick anything up he carried in it's direction keeping his wits about him. It was then he started picking up the tree's and amended his course around the edge almost missing the form had it not been for the sound of clothing rubbing against fur. Wopk knew that sound well, everyone but his Father had clothing so it had been a tell tell sign when his sisters where playing about, it seemed norm to him.
Turning his gaze directly at her his expression remained neutral as his yellow aura in a number of places reached forward to asses the form. Hie mother had told him he'd have to be careful, to know when to extend and learn in safety and when it could be judged as a threat. In this situation he judged that he knew nothing more than whatever this form was, breathed, had fur and wore some kind of clothing. So he risked it and tried to 'see' around him "Hello?" was his slightly enthusiastic welcome, he sure hoped he wouldn't have to fight.

Finally satisfied that her scarf was more to the back, and would not smack her again, Winter moved to begin her travels again. As she stood though a voice from behind her caused her to jump. Hesitantly, more keen on running than anything, she turned to face whoever it was. The sight of a male lion whose fur glowed, was blindfolded, and had some sort of material attached to his wings caught her completally off guard. Though he'd surprised her, he seemed to mean no harm.
"Um...hello..my apologies if I am trespassing..."She stayed where she was, still feeling uneasy about getting too close to him. She'd not been around many males in her life, and her Mother had driven her to fear most of those she had seen lest they do unspeakable things to her...though of course, her Mother preferred lionesses so...not liking males that much wasn't Winter's problem.

"Oh no! No No. This is beyond my family's land, we are both strangers here." He smiled and took a few steps forward. The form had a female voice, that was self explanatory in his books, so he had either a lion or dragon, female and with clothing. At least he was able to get that much without his aura touching her, that alone gave him the confidence to take another step towards her.
"I mean you no harm, I assure you, My name is Wopk." He kept his smile vibrant thought his eyes where hidden his cheeks raised to emphasize the gesture.

All tension left her body as he spoke. It was something in his voice...a sort of genuine kindness, that caused her to fully relax. Though his eyes were covered with that blindfold, she could see his smile was bright and warm. "Ok..that's good..." She sat as he walked closer, trying to show she wasn't scared. Then a thought occured to her. "Oh...are you blind...? Do I need to describe myself to you Wopk..? I am Winter by the way..."

Hearing her speak before she moved helped his hearing pin point her movements as she sat, so she was not to run nor did her voice quiver. It also held a soothing calm down that indicated there was no thread here, that pleased him though now he would consider it rude to just reach out and feel her appearance.
As she spoke again he chuckled lightly at her observation, she was quick, most assumed his eyed worked as others and didn't fall to the conclusion long into the first meeting. "Greetings Winter." His smile never faltered, he'd been told it was a perfect match for his mothers, just another similarity they shared. "In the normal terms of the word, yes I believe I am." He didn't look upset or angry about it, as though he'd fully come to terms or rather that it hadn't bothered him in the first instance. "Only if you wish so, I'm from a gifted family..." He was proud though not entirely sure if he was doing right by sharing so much, he'd met haters of his special gifts before. "In a way I 'see' through my aura." As he stated that little fact his aura extended from his body and waved about around him, slinking through the air out towards her expelling light and warmth.
It was enough to give him a vague outline but no specific features, he now 'saw' that this Winter was a lion and that something hung around her neck. He had decided to wait for permission before moving his aura any closer, he neither wanted to startle her or appear rude, besides the information he had just shared was usually too much for the normal inhabitance of the Isle.

What he said hit home with her. She too had a gift, though it was far less exciting than moving one's own aura. She watched as he moved his aura around in awe, eyes wide. "My Mother and siblings are gifted as well as I...though my gift is far less...using your aura to see is simply amazing...!" For a long moment she simply watched him, his glowing aura.
Curiosity overpowered her as she slowly stood and padded a little closer, then sat down again. Her eyes now shone with delight as a thought rolled through her mind. "If you would like to get a better idea of what I look like...I would not mind Wopk..."

Though he could not see her awe, nor her eyes widen he could feel her excitement, something shifted here, something he had not felt shift so quickly to excitement in such a long time. As she spoke it became clear, she too was gifted and his smile opened up to show teeth in delight "Nonsense, there is no such thing as being more or less gifted, a gift is special in any regard, or so my mother says." At the mention of his mother he fought back a blush, how obvious it was erupt on his dark fur.
Wopk's aura caught her movement as if she was a grey scale blur moving in the wind, and as she sat that little bit closer to him he filled with glee. "It would be an honor, to allow me such inspection Lady Winter." Shifting his weight he stood and lowered his pose down into a bow, very rarely was he allowed to invade on someones privacy as to get a good 'look'.
So as the lions head came up from his gesture he wavered his aura closer, slowly swaying about her as if it was gleaming onto her in different positions, showing her in all the different lights of the day. Then as the lioness did not cringe, or run he shifted it closer, just above the fur and with that he gained an insight into her appearance. This winter was a beautiful lioness, a lioness with an item of clothing as he had, he recognized it as a scarf. Though he could not determine her colors he saw the large darker patch across her fur and the lighter area's of Winters markings. All the different shades of what he could only guess by their greyscale color to be blues and whites and over all he could not and would not deny she was a wonder to 'look' at and 'feel'. "Winter, you are the most beautiful of lioness, thank you for letting me see and share your wonder."

Winter's gray-green eyes never left Wopk as his aura stretched forward to "see" her more clearly. As it moved over her she felt a warm comfort engulf her. It had been so long since she'd felt this completaly safe with anyone. It was as if his very spirit sent peace to her heart. Her entire body relaxed as he stretched his aura closer, her eyes closing for a moment to take in what she felt.
Her eyes glowed as she watched him, head tilting in wonder as she thought about how skilled he was with handling his gift. As she felt his aura pull back she padded closer, though giving room for personal space. A blush warmed her cheeks hearing him, her tongue tied for a few moments before she could speak properly again. Compliments were sparse with her so she didn't handle them well. "Thank you...I really liked watching you use your gift...I was curious actually..You control it so easily so..fluently...I have trouble doing that and never actually do my gift...That is why it's weak. If I...could you teach me how to gain more confidence over it..? More control..?"

Once he had gotten a good picture of her in his mind he retracted his Aura to return to his pitch black fur, giving it not only a glow in places but making it appear as his aura was actually just vibrant markings. Taking a seat he quickly took in the wind direction and speed by raising his wings up and catching all the information he needed in the bow before resting his wings. His blindfolded eyed face never leaving the lioness, his smile never faltering he nodded his head, he couldn't see her blush and now his aura wasn't on her he could neither see her eyes close but her hesitation was a good indication of a slight uncomfortable feeling. "I've had a lot of practice, both my parents are gifted they made very sure we understood our 'powers' and did their best to help us realize there potential."
Nodding his head quickly he shifted his tail in wander, he had never really considered there being others gifted as his family but without the knowledge of how to use it. "May I ask of your gift Lady Winter? So that perhaps we can better understand it? Do not feel less confident in my presence please... honestly, not even i fully understand what it is that I do exactly, or what I have... It just simply is and i just... well do." He let forth a slight chuckle, he knew how to use his aura, and that is resembled his mothers but not if it was powered by the light as Sandy's was. "But I can but try, and for you and any other I would be pleased to help in any way."

A soft sigh left Winter as she looked around, trying to figure out something she could freeze for him that he could "see" and not end up rather cold himself. When she spotted droplets of water dripping from a leaf she stood and padded over to it. "Wopk...use your aura to see what I am doing...Mind you it is not that strong yet..." Slowly she steadied her breath, relaxing her body. Then she took in a deep breath, taking in water particles. When her breath came out ice was visible and anything in the way would freeze. It wasn't a wide range and did not go but a few inches, but she froze the droplets. Some as they fell, the rest froze like an icicle on the leaf itself.
Now as she waited for him to check it out for himself, she sat down and looked at what she had done. It was fragile and flimsy...Her Mother could form crystals in the air from water particles in the air...form them into little shards to help her hunt. She knew her other siblings were gifted as well, and their gifts were powerful because they worked with them. She had labeled herself as odd and hidden them, embarressed for herself for a while. Now she knew better of course, but she hid it now because it was so weak.

Though his Aura wasn't around her he had retracted it back to the usual places, this included his blindfold, though it covered his eyes his aura acted as his eyes and thus Wopk could still vaguely track her movements. When it was like this she was no more than a large blur of one color with no real shape, a wisp of nightmare grey scale almost but still it was an efficient way of knowing where things where and are.
So he tracked her shift in movement with his body, making sure to keep her blur in sight, lest he loose sight of her and end up panicking, thats when things got out of control for him. As Winters words reached his ears he was quick to extend his glowing yellow aura to her, brushing it against her face as it searched her line of sight to the droplets on the tree's. Thought he wasn't sure what he was looking at he expanding his aura to catch every directly in front of her, from her nose to the leaf, a little way up teh branch and down to the ground below. It was perhaps a longer sight than most would be able but he was not normal, especially not his 'sight', and though his aura would feel warm to her it would have no feel warming effect on objects.
Wopk stood still and 'saw' the hurr of her breath, a slightly different particle makeup from the rest of the air, making it visible in a darker hue as it left her mouth. He 'saw' as it enveloped the leaf and gathered around the droplet, darkening it's hue and in his guess making it more solid and then the dropping and shatter of another. Once it had fully settled and the remaining Ice shards hung on the leaf he pondered and nodded his head. There was only one explanation an extreme temperature change.. and to make it solid? Well that meant extreme cold surely. "That didn't look weak to me Lady Winter, I could never dream of doing such thing." Wopks smile had reappeared as his aura almost buzzed around the area where it had all happened. Once he was sure there was nothing more to see there, it whizzed back around in front of the lioness then back to his fur.
Moving closer he went to inspect the fallen droplets with his paw, getting it's texture, it was definitely solid and cold, Ice like in fact. "The conversion of particles resulting in a change of temperature and density, all I do is control what I have to make up for other faults, you Winter... you can produce something entirely new, thats spectacular!" As he finished fidgeting with the Icelet under his paw he batted it at the tree, causing a vibration of sound that temporarily bounced off the trunk and out briefly lighting up the side of her face for him. She was very beautiful though she looked upset and uncomfortable, doubting her own gift, that upset him a little and he couldn't help but more a step towards her and place his paw on her own in comfort. "You should be proud, you have a marvelous gift, I'll help you in any way I can, I give you my word." As he finished speaking he bowed his head in reinforcement to his statement.
