It could have been the weather, or perhaps a passerby that resembled a piece of her past, but either way the canine would not stay put. She liked to follow the winds, or so she told so many, a Northern path that led her to new lands and allowed a sense of freedom. She told those who would try to come along that this was a journey taken by the enlightened...she could not have them follow her. The priestess would take what it was she traveled in: a worn purple robe and a very small sack she often carried between her teeth, and leave in the middle of the night. She often tried to keep her surroundings different, so as not to run into the same creature twice...
Times had grown harder, however, and for a years run she had endured all the seasons and trekked over most (if not all) of the land she could reach. Eradinel was young, yes this was true but she was also growing tired of her wanderings and this bouncing back and forth would have to come to an end some day...would it not? She was a murderer, and being one did not allow for much bonding time with a single group for very long, and with the pack she once called home in search for her, scouts on the look out and probably following her trail very closely; she would be found if her scent lingered for to long in one place or another.
Figuring there was at least another seven to eight years left of her life, taking breaks now and then were becoming less frequent. She knew within a very short amount of time she'd need all the rest possible, and the further she'd manage now, meant the less chance of them catching up. An early sun rose high into the sky, sending light through the thicker parts of this land and opening a path for the wolf to follow. She moved along a frigid riverbank, past fresh markers made by a creature of this forest. There was a strong gale, and in this fairly open pasture she could make out the assorted smells of unfamiliar wolves; a perfectly good sign.
In and out she'd go, hopefully, without being seen.
((The purple robe she walks with and the bag she carries are not her actual items, they will be blown away or left some place. They are remnants of a past of which she can't seem to let alone.))

Silhouette had developed a habit of wandering out of pack lands at a very early age, much to the displeasure of her family. It was hardly surprising then that the pink and grey marked adolescent found herself hot footing it across a rotten log. It was a convenient if not necessarily perfectly safe way to cross the river. The river was cold - and Sil had a certain disdain for the river due to a puppyhood trip.
Humming breezily to herself the young wolf hopped off the end of the rotten log and onto the shore, pricked ears gazing up and down the bank as though deciding just which direction to take. Finally turning left Sil trotted along - her long somewhat gangly legs carried her forward in a bouncy carefree gait.

She kept her pace and was steadily moving along herself when the thumping of feet became apparent. Ways away moved a smoky figure, accented with pinks and it would seem to be approaching in a quick (if not awkward) fashion. Her nose flared instantly, and without thinking the female was rolling out of her robe and into the forests lining where she decided to make her own path around the opposing creature.
Social or not, Eradinel knew all too well how encounters could end. Though strong, the canine was not emotionally prepared to make another friend and lose one all over again. She was growing pained by weekly reoccurrences of this scenario, and needed, for once, a break. The teen motioned carelessly, hummed now as Eradinel edged closer and could overhear, and loped as if she just got the hang of her limbs. It was cute really, the way her disproportionate frame worked; she herself couldn't recall ever looking so gangly and often did not like the thinned out appearance most growing wolves had but...it suited this one.
Now was not the time to get attached, she thought and furrowed her brows as if to forcefully concentrate. In a desperate attempt to avoid confrontation, Eradinel kept to the shadows of the forest, making little to no noise as she passed over stones and-
Branches. A twig snapped beneath her feet and instinctively she dropped in a crouch. Belly touching the earth, the cream female became a sore thumb amongst the ferns and deep brown wood of the trees, her red painted face having turned quickly to face the other wolf.
Caught.
At least all the times she had been spotted, it was never by a familiar Goon.

Sil drummed along the shoreline at a steady pace - she had no real destination in mind, she never did..but she did have a timeline, hoping to return to packlands before dark and therefore avoid a scolding. In order to have a full day then and find something worth doing it was necessary to hustle.
Snap!
Sil snapped her head up and applied the brakes - the result of which was a sudden somewhat skidding stop, paw splayed as she half turned half skid around to look into the forest, red eyes searching for any signs of life - certainly there had to be something there, twigs after all don't just snap on their own. Perhaps it would be something to hunt - wouldn't Aunt Twix be pleased when she returned with a partial meal for the family? Might go a ways in proving her ability to take care of herself in any case.
Ah but her eyes capered over the form of the crouching female, a pretty buff colored beast she'd never seen before, one who it seemed might not have wanted to be found - at least judging by the way she was trying to hide. ah well..not her fault she'd stepped on a twig now was it? and she couldn't very well ignore her now that she'd so clearly spotted her now could she?
"Why hello there!"
She called out in a cheery voice, meeting a stranger in the woods might qualify as a decent way to spend the day she figured.

Noooo. She groaned.
Her eyes sealed themselves, jaw held firm as she waited a second…then another, before looking toward the female with regret. It was not a good idea to walk through the forest, she should have known better! Curling her tail and standing upright, Eradinel felt it best to get this over with. At first she did not say a word; silver eyes slit with suspicion as her body hovered over the earth and approached the teen wolf. In essence, she wanted to get out of the woodwork, but to some this could come across as threatening. Then, when her paws touched the soft sands she spoke, a gentle tone that did not match her muscular exterior. “Hello, little girl.”
“And where do you come from, hmm?” Her tone grew high pitched, the question a bit deeper than the teen may, or may not understand.
They had scouts everywhere…

Sil took a few steps back as the strange wolf made her way out of the woods, she had the strangest eyes and the teen couldn't help but gape at them just a little. Ear's flicking slightly Sil tried to decide if the strange wolf was friendly..or not, she was sending quite allot of mixed signals as they say and Sil was still trying to decipher them. The way she moved out of the forest was clearly somewhat threatening - as was the look on her face, but her words..well they were quite gentle sounding and Sil tipped her head slightly.
Well..it wasn't like the wolf had lept out of the woods with ravening jaws or anything so she couldn't be all that bad. Of course there was that strangely lilted tone at the end of her question - almost like she really needed to know the answer to this particular question.
"Err..well from a pack across the river, nice friendly pack though - no worries about any of them.."
She stated, her thoughts only briefly drifting to her Aunt Twix who couldn't exactly be called friendly, but she was Beta and being protective was her job after all.

It was always the eyes.
Silver, slit like felines, Eradinel would usually have the same response given when introductions were made. No one paid much mind to her rough exterior when those vertical pupils held your attention…
It normally didn’t influence her actions one way or another, just distracted the select few who encounter her. Sighing, she shifted her weight over to balance the slop toward the river and responded harshly. “Well that’s good for you, then isn’t it?”
“I mean, I don’t mean to sound so blunt but; your small, and if you were part of an…oh, perhaps ‘hunting’ pack, I’d be forced to kill you.” She spoke with a lull, like a parent would to their child but her words left nothing to the imagination and was not as kindly as a mother would off her kin. Tilting her head to the left, she inspected the youth in question, throwing her gaze to the other side to check the opposite end. From far away there was something adorable about her, but closer up proved to be like all the others; not so much.
Mauling over a list of things she usually said, Eradinel fell on one in particular that may run the pup off, if what she had uttered didn’t already. “I’m not one to deny myself a quick meal, however. You look a bit sickly, enough to fill me for an hour tops…are you sure your not from a scouting pack? Perhaps one that believes in religion and sacrifice?”
Though her eyes were still squished in a glare, a smile came to her lips and showed the bright teeth that were both welcoming and frightening.

What..an incredibly odd wolf Sil thought to herself a the stranger spoke - and Sil in he short life had run across a few odd ones in her time - Korrigan with her clawed metal forepaw and Denzel with his wish to meet 'humans' came to mind. Still this strange slit-eyed wolf with her rather nasty words.
Such words would probably run off most wolves - but since the stranger had yet to attack her - and Sil was quite sure (possibly unwisely) of her ability to run off the teen did not scurry away in fear. She did however bristle just a bit.
"Not a very friendly type are you?" Sil responded after the threats about killing her were made, although half of what the wolf said went completely over her head, what pray tell was a 'hunting' pack - all wolves hunted so..wouldn't they all be hunting packs? considering the stranger had said she'd try to kill her if she belonged to one Sil didn't see the wisdom in pointing this out. "i don't even know what this religion and sacrifice bit your talking about is...but I am not sickly...." She continued with a hint defiance in her voice, pulling herself up in a way she'd often seen her Aunt Twix do when making a point and making herself seem stronger and larger.

Kindly? Why, that was what most wolves often called her, how dare this runt state otherwise? The wolfess chuckled, harmoniously to the bristle the teen seemed to depict and finally threw her head back in a dark laughter. "Oh, you silly little thing."
"Well, most dogs around your age often like to play tricks. They know the trade well and maneuver around it in order to coax and hustle the older and less keen." She found herself rambling a bit, and that being a very unattractive and time consuming trait let the argument slide. She was sickly looking as well, despite the teen’s belief otherwise, however Eradinel disregarded that. Instead she gave a crooked look to the dark female and retorted, "So, why wander off so far from home? With demons watching these forests you'd think the youth would regard the sentiments made by their parents."
"Unless you have none. I know you belong to a pack but I recall taking in many homey looking mutts like yourself during my stay in a pack. Kind gesture, wouldn't you agree?" Her brow quirked in question, a cockeyed grin matching the tilt in her head.

Sil's eyes widened slightly as the wolfess laughed - it was a nasty sounding laugh, nothing at all like the happy sounds often emanating from her family most summer nights. Dogs? Sil cast her mind about for reference - despite her ramblings she'd lead a fairly sheltered life after all - dog she believed were the equivalent of wolves kept by 'humans' which she understood had only two legs as pets or slaves. Sil's hair bristled further at the implications.
However it seemed the wolfess was not finished - no she continued on with her rather rude remarks, until she managed to hit on a particularly sore point. Sil was particularly bother by no having a father most of the time - indeed she hardly even thought about it now that she had grown some...but when it was so snarkily slapped across her nose she couldn't help but recall it.
"Well if you treated them the way you treat strangers then no I imagine it would have been kinder to let them starve" Sil retorted in a quiet yet furious voice "And I do have a family thank you very much a very kind mother - but one does like to go off and get some times alone once in a while as you clearly know seeing as how your traveling alone..." She finished with a nod towards the woods where the buff female had been hiding only a short time ago.

“Oh, silly little thing you.” The wolf smirked, “They did starve. Who is to say I fed them?” Her laughter boomed again, threatening to waken the wood. "It would have been kinder to let them starve alone? No. I think they were rather fond of dying with those of the same situation."
But she let the tone fall and her chuckles dissipate. The youth was troubled with the topic of family…that usually was the ticket. Eradinel was very fond of working nerves, knowing well what poking a sore wound can do, and continued, “A mother? Just a mother, well what ever happened to your father? Tragic death, perhaps, or maybe he died of natural cause? Or, and this is a big or, you never met him? That of course would make her some what of a hussy then, and the way you said ‘mother’ doesn’t quite fit the bill. So, what is it?” she spat the words like venom, carrying the face of innocence. It usually just sparked rage to see her speak so horridly of matters that still remained fresh and painful, but it varied with the types she ran into.
Licking her lips, the creamy canine let her grin spread a bit wider. “Alone is how I like it. Plus, I’m pretty sure the dangers of this world would have a far greater struggle taking me down than they would you.” To this she nodded, slight mockery to the teens gesture.
The former question did still hold her attention, so she waited patiently for that response. It was, after all, a topic in which she enjoyed...loss, death, demise; what fun!

Well there was no longer any question of the strangers disposition, she was a nasty tempered creature whose words were meant to be nothing but hurtful. What a wretched way to spend your life she thought to herself. Sil took a few steps back from the slit eyed wolf before speaking again.
"I might be Silly.." She started "But a least I'm not a pitiful cold hearted creature like you" she finished firmly - it was rather sad really when you thought about it - Sil couldn't fathom a pup being born nasty and hateful,so something must have happened to make this stranger so bitter - or perhaps it was the pack she gre up in, whatever was the case Sil found herself rather sorry for wolfs predicament - of course that didn't excuse her from her current nastiness.
"I never knew my father, but since I don't have a denfull of siblings running about then I hardly guess she's a hussy either, she's a good, kind strong wolf - which is more then you can claim now isn't it?" She spat at the beast before remembering herself and reining her temper in once more. If Sil had been smart she probably would have left by now..but she was fairly riled up by this point and full of too much self-righteous pride to simply walk away - no instead the teen, in typical teen fashion had to add in yet another comment. This time however her voice was dripping in..pity.
"Alone because you like it that way?...or because you have to be? Maybe you've just convinced yourself you like it because you can't stand facing the truth!" After spewing forth the words Sil realized that they had probably been a mistake - goading a larger ill tempered wolf really wasn't a smart thing to do - but she couldn't just let her call her mother a hussy and get away with it either now could she?

Eradinel was not one to become impatient, nor was she known to be shaken from her stronghold. Naturally, she was capable of handling critic as well as she gave it, knowing full well if she couldn’t muster THAT much, she’d never be able to dish out as often as she did. So, though the words made by this youngster ought to have flicked a switch and triggered some misplaced aggression, the creamy wolf simply smiled wide and watched the ebon lips of a new generation flap.
It was true that Eradinel was not kind and gentle, perhaps in the typical sense of the word and yes, she wandered alone due to her…eerie fathers odd ways of raising kin, but it never seemed to stop her. All of this also never brought the she-wolf down, so to speak, only enticed her desire to do more damage and ensure her a resolute seat in hell. The empty grin stayed in place as she listened, eyes growing wide to certain words said and brows twitching as if slightly interested.
Then she finished; the dark female’s voice lost, ending with an unsure look of pride and a trickle of sorrow, perhaps? Or, it could just be the pity she felt, having heard the connotations mingled with the final question/statement. It was now that Eradinel wrinkled her nose and shut her eyes, tilting that furry head of hers down toward the earth in an angle. She was in thought for a while, letting the words soak it could be assumed but really just giving the effect of caring. The earthy brown that ran up the backend of each ear was seen as they rotated and flattened to her skull, those silvery eyes opening wide as her neck straightened itself again all in very few fluid motions.
”Tell me, what is your name? We’ve had quite the conversation and all being done not knowing the title of one another.”
Her face contorted, a look of curiosity passing over before it settled on a sort of 'begging' facade. There was something serious about the way she held herself now, almost as if she had something urgent to state...

Sil was taken off guard somewhat by the wolfs strange actions -she had expected anger, perhaps even a lunge. What she got instead was a strangely bowed head - almost as though the other was actually thinking about her words. well she ought to! Sil told herself, saying such wretched things and being faced with the truth about yourself was a nasty business...and yet despite this inner assertion Sil wasn't quite convinced that this was really what the wolf was doing.
She had been smiling earlier she reminded herself- almost as though amused by Sil and her ranting - it didn't quite track that suddenly now at the end she would start caring about what she had to say. Of course this wolf - was nothing like any other she had met, either in looks with those strange slitted eyes - or in temper. She was a conundrum..and now she wanted her name. Sil hesitated for a few seconds regarding the cream female with her eager looking serious face with extreme suspicion, as though waiting for the jaws of some great trap to spring shut around her.
But surely there could be no harm in speaking her name, it was after all just a name "Silhouette" She finally answered, giving her full name rather then the shorter moniker she typically went by. This asking of names however had thrown the teen and her self righteous anger off track, diverted her attention from the anger of before with the normalcy of introductions. "Whats yours?".

She had stayed too long, the time to leave was now.
"Silhouette." Eradinel repeated, letting the name roll off her tongue. "In my old pack we had a definition for that word, which makes it odd to be a name. Silhouette; like the shadows cast onto the floor...some what of a twin, but without the face. Normally, in our pack a Silhouette is considered a protector, though there is no evidence of it ever guarding it's host." Her eyes stayed on Silhouette's now, and she seemed to be unnerved by the sudden drop in tension between the two.
In fact, Eradinel did not notice the calming in the young teen because she wasn't letting her own feelings go. She let her teeth gleam in that same grin held before, the thoughts that reeled in her mind shown on the contorting face. "Silhouette. The nameless, faceless, noiseless shadow. But you are no Silhouette, are you? Perhaps of a sibling, or an elder but...to me, you are not what your name entails... You do your name no justice." she said, continuing in a flurry of words. "I think we ought to change that."
She took a step forward, just a single paw moving as she drew her head in toward the youth. "You will know me as Eradinel...and you will come to hear the name again. You'll learn to beg for its forgiveness. The next time you hear of me..." she paused, her eyes squinting. It was sudden, and nearly out of context that Era became aggressive with her tone but...it was Eradinel, and if Silhouette had not learned of this canine's cruel ways, than she was more naive than first thought. "Know I'm coming for you, little Silhouette. Your face, your tone, your name...I've got it all. There is no running."
With it, the cream wolf snarled and backed away several feet. She had made a last minute decision, and though she may never really follow through with any of it she hoped it would instill fear...and in the end she also hoped this teen would remember today...remember her, and grow up to shiver when words pronounced anywhere NEAR Eradinel were uttered.
It was her way of life. She would come, and she would go as quick and vengeful as hurricane winds...she'd leave her damage where fate seemed to stop her travels, and then move on to the next place where destruction would occur. In her pacing backwards, Era spun around just as her form dissolved into the foliage and ran North again, a proverb she told many...Her paws flew over logs and branches, breaking anything in their way as the powerful wolf barreled down the forests worn paths and disappeared into the distance.
Eradinel felt she was forgetting something in her sprint...It was something big, something important and for the life of her, Era couldn't recal- It hit her then; the name she did not often utter was now in these forests, and would spread like wildfire if the teenager so desired...
Oh..no. She knew of bloodshed, and in ways embraced it. Why did she not kill the teenager? Was she growing soft? Eradinel did not turn back, her fur flapping in the breeze as she made her way out of this land...she needed to get out.
