Samrat Abhaya Khan
Intellectual » Curious » Daredevil

          ⓜⓤⓣⓐⓝⓣ ⓓⓐⓣⓐ

xxxNicknames: Sam, Sum, Sammy, Khan, Sara (jokingly, only by his closest friends)

          xxxAge: 20

          xxxGender: Male.

          xxxHeight: 5’7”.

          xxxWeight: 145 lbs.

          xxxSexuality: Heterosexual.

          xxxBirthday: November 13th

          xxxAlliance: X-men.

          ⓜⓤⓣⓐⓝⓣ ⓟⓔⓡⓢⓞⓝⓐⓛⓘⓣⓨ

xxxPersonality: Samrat has a natural thirst for knowledge. This makes him both highly intelligent and extremely inquisitive. He has a distinct favoritism towards Biochemistry, but is a general advocate of the sciences. He is also quite nosy and invasive sometimes, leading to a series of awkward situations. Yet, he usually means no ill.
“Stage fright” does not exist in Sam’s dictionary. He has never felt shy; in fact he has always been the complete opposite. He isn’t an attention-seeker, but he feels no difficulty being the center of attention. This makes him a great actor and, combined with his intellectual ability, a good leader. The problem, of course, is getting people to listen to him, since his invasiveness is not looked well upon by others.
Since his powers deal with the lives of others, he rarely takes his own life seriously. He is a complete daredevil, and performs daring jumps and stunts for the fun of it. He simply loves to run and to fall, to feel the wind in his hair and to keep off the ground. He’s not much of an optimist, in fact he’s more of a cynic, despite the fact that he’s always smiling. Besides, if the world is totally screwed anyway, might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

xxxStrengths: He is a scientific genius, a tactical strategist, is decently tech-savvy, and is a straight-A student. He’s also quite good at thinking creatively. He is also willing to help a friend out, even if it means risking his own life, not because he’s loyal, but because he doesn’t care much about the risks. He’s also never shy and thus never gets embarrassed.

xxxWeaknesses: Often can be nosy and invasive. He often likes to get in other people’s business, simply out of a curious desire to know what they’re up to. He tends to be the happiest when he’s dancing with death, but also loses some of his rationale.

          xxxLikes:
          ~ Risks,
          ~ Explosives (Chemistry!),
          ~ Night,
          ~ Forests,

          ~ Partying.

          xxxDislikes:
          ~ Anything cold, especially Snow,
          ~ Anybody nagging him,
          ~ Waking early,
          ~ Liars,
          ~ Idiots.

xxxMain Power: Vitamancy;; Samrat is able to siphon the life force, the distance between an individual and death, of a target by telepathically wrestling with the individual. The sensation of having one’s life force drained is simply a slow weakening of the heart rate until coma and then death. He is able to drain plants and animals easily, although the more aggressive a creature the harder it is. Draining a human depends on how powerful the victim is, both mentally and physically. When attacking a human, the two engage in a battle on the physical and metaphysical plane. If the enemy is strong enough to resist mentally, or if he is able to interrupt Sam’s concentration before the process is complete, it will stop. Until then, the target’s entire body will slowly feel weaker until they die.

xxxSecondary Power:Transfusion;; Sam is capable of using the drained life force to instantaneously heal his own wounds; the larger the wound, the more life force is required. He is also able to donate this drained life force to allies, and, as a last resort, can even call upon his own reserves, weakening himself to assist an ally, if he has no spare life force to give. Of course, if he has no life force left, is knocked unconscious, or in any other way rendered incapable of conscious thought, he is unable to use this power to heal himself, and is vulnerable to death.

xxxTertiary Power:Necromancy;; He is also capable of infusing life force to dead beings, effectively “bringing them back to life,” under his control but this renders them incapable of thought or the usage of any mutant ability that does not physically alter the individual (for example, an undead wolverine could still use claws, but not his healing), and the process also destroys their memory completely.

xxxBiography: Born the son of a wealthy businessman in the bustling city of Bombay, given a name meaning “emperor”, and taking his first breath on the auspicious Indian festival of lights, Samrat always knew he was different, and the world knew he was unlike the rest of them, but exactly how different came as a surprise for everyone.

As a child Samrat was a mastermind and a trickster, and his tiny frame made him both dextrous and agile enough to slip through the cracks of the urban wasteland he grew up in to avoid getting caught. This was a nature that was deep-rooted within him. He quickly fell in love with the night, for under her dark shell he could do as he wished. At a young age he was completely uninterested in school, not because he was uninterested in academics, but because he saw so many flaws in the system. He would regularly skip classes, instead spending his time in the high-school section of the library, reading up on Pensfield, Hawkings, and Machiavelli. Elementary school was unimportant, and thus he chose not to engage in the endless rituals. The others bored him to no end.

Come high school, Samrat had suddenly become a genius. His F had become an A+ overnight, and his teachers and parents were baffled. Of course, he still hated school, and he still worked on work far more advanced than the normal curriculum during his free time, but there was a goal here - he needed to get into a good college. It was logical to do well.

His powers came slightly later than most others. Come sophomore year in high school he realized he could take and give life via a bizzare situation in the dissection lab. He was labeled by some as a prophet, a savior, a healer, and by others as the Devil incarnate - a Necromancer. Those in the latter half made it unsafe to remain with his family, and, for fear of endangering himself, his wife and his other children, Samrat's father exiled his eldest son, trying to give the boy enough to live for as long as he could. There were no fond memories, but no bad ones either. At least he was not left to die.

Years later, Samrat had made a name for himself. He had become a strange type of superhero. A human superhero, to be exact. He would enforce justice and, in order to keep himself alive, would return the stolen goods just a slight bit lighter than he found them. He became known as the "Evil Angel", and rightfully so. He was no billionare - just a boy trying to make a living without having to charge in and rob a bank himself.

Noticed by cerebro, Samrat was approached by a group of mutants who Samrat initially attacked furiously, fearing they were somehow part of the government. After recognizing them as mutants as well, he stopped and allowed them to tell him about the X-men. With nowhere else to go, Samrat accepted.

He quickly learned to like the place, and the medical wing became like his home. He grew close to a few other science-oriented mutants, especially Hank McCoy, the Beast, who became like a father to him. The two often joke around, since both are far from the typical quiet, nerdy scientist. Tasked with deciding on a new name upon joining the X-men, he decided on one that reflected the dual nature of his power, rather than simply the creative or destructive stage of it: Samsara, the name of the Hindu cycle of reincarnation.
