It was time. Her cubs were no longer cubs, and it was time...it was time to take them to meet their father. For them to decide where their hearts truly lay. Did they belong in the mists, in the magic of the land and the gods with her? Or did they belong with their far-away father in the swamps, with the magic of the spirits singing to them? She'd already said her goodbyes...though they were more 'I'll see you later' than goodbye. She wasn't leaving forever...just long enough to let her little ones know who their father was. Codail had warned them a moon-phase ago they would be leaving for a time. To get ready for the journey, and the possibilty it was their father's home that was in their souls, not the one they were in now. Sighing, a slight smile on her maw, she called for them.

He was more than excited and ready for this trip. The pride they were in now was great and everything, but he really only knew his cousins. It made him uneasy being around anyone else despite trying to protect his pride. Caide was smart, inquisitive; which made him a perfect Ghost.
He'd said his goodbyes earlier, letting what friends he had know he might not be back. Of course he was curious as to where his father lived, what his father looked like. But he'd be protective of his mother. If he did anything to hurt her, Caide would hurt him. Tangerine eyes glanced about, all a-glitter with excitement and wanting to ask so many questions. He'd gotten quieter as he grew up, now only asking things he really wanted to know instead of popping off with random questions.
This male knew the Mists sang to him; they did every time he went on patrol and chased off the nasty ones that'd harm anyone. It helped him, concealed him. Caideiseach wouldn't leave it for anything. He belonged with his mother; wanted to stay with her even if he got to know his father better. To Caide, his mother was his best friend, his idol, his role model. He wanted to be just like her. Strong and independent, yet still have a beautiful feel about her.
"Today, huh, mom?" He asked, moving closer to her, nuzzling up to her side and purring slowly. Caide was just as tall as her, if not a few centimeters shorter; he'd grown still this year.

Lugh drifted to his mother slowly, tentatively. The male felt shy, unsure-- but most things frightened him. Who knew what might eat him, after all? He padded to his mother slowly, head low in a submissive position.
So, today he'd meet the father he never knew? What if he didn't like him? Or thought he was a spirit? No, Lugh, for his name, was as timid and harmless as a sheep.

Dagda heard Codail's call. Heard it, and answered, though he was not one of her cubs. But he was always near...always watching over her. He wanted to do more than watch, but her heart was still a fragile thing, and he knew why. So, he was just her steady friend. The solid earth beneath her paws. And when Codail had told him of her plans to take the cubs to meet their father...well, Dagda volunteered to help protect them on the way. He wasn't about to let her go out there with only one cub who'd shown an inclination to fighting. He gave her a small smile and stood beside her. He turned the smile to Lugh, hoping it would help the boy. He didn't like seeing any of the cubs down...and Lugh just seemed to be stuck in shy mode.

The male had grown, and was rivaling the size of his brothers. His sisters were still slightly smaller, but thats the way it was supposed to be.. Or so he thought. His sapphire eyes glistened as the voices of his family echoed in his head.
They were leaving. He wasnt too sure how happy he was that they were leaving.. He had grown so accustomed to staying around mother and making sure everyone was happy around him. But now he would be forced to visit with a father he didn't know, nor was he sure he really wanted to know. What if he liked father more?
He shook the thought from his head with a rough shake and looked back up at his family.
"I still don't see why we gotta." He moped, ears back as he sighed. This was going to be a real test of him. He was going to have to show his father he was good offspring, without getting too close to him.
He would never leave Codail. Never.

Talamh had approached with her usual slowness, though by the way her fur was ruffled, she had run part of the way. She smiled at her mother with that deep smile of hers, then nuzzled her reverse-colored brother. "So we can see the other half of our blood, Chincha." She was looking forward to meeting him. Though her home would always be in the mists, so close to Father Earth, she wanted to meet the other half of what had created her. And thank him, for giving she and her sibs to their mother.
Talamh was no fool, despite her slow way of things. The earth-colored adolescent had heard her mother's tales, and knew what Codail had been going through before they'd been born. In a way, their father had saved their mother.

Blending perfectly with the mist's color on the slightly chill morning, Feidhlim was nearly to his mother's side before his form was fully visible. He'd adapted well to the lands. "Hello mother," he said, his voice soft and barely louder than a whisper. He nuzzled her briefly before turning to his siblings. So far they'd some at her call, and Dagda as well. Feid was yet unsure of his feelings about the earthy-male, but he seemed to get on well enough with Codail.
Moving to stand with the others, he hung close to Lugh. He offered him a small smile and a nod. "Are you not excited, Lugh? Think of all we might see out beyond these misty lands. New places and persons, and father too. It will be a grand adventure, don't you think?" He tried to encourage his brother. They were a large band for simple travel. Most rogues would leave them well enough alone, and even if they were bothered they had the numbers to handle it.

Caide's ears swiveled to his near twin's voice and a grin broke out across his muzzle. Leaving his mother's side, he moved to Feid and nuzzled up against him, chewing on his ear like he did when they were cubs. Really, he didn't get enough time with his almost twin. "Feeeeid. You've been ignoring me!" He whined rather pathetically. The darker of the two knew what weaknesses he could pull of his brother's and did so, pouting rather cutely at him and pawing his growing mane. Soon, they'd all be adults; which is why their mother chose to start this journey now.
He looked to the big brown male and almost frowned. He hadn't spent much time with the other yet, but he wanted too. He wanted to make sure that he was right for their mother. After all, Codail was his hero! Well, mother and his aunt. He had two heros in his life, and it's all because they took such good care of the family. The ever rapidly growing family.

Codail nuzzled Caide back. "Today. We start towards the swamps northeast of us." They'd have to be careful to skirt around the demon lands that lay in between...She'd heard tales of the creatures that lived there. She had no intention of ever meeting one. The lioness licked the top of Lugh's head reassuringly. "Everything will be fine, love." She gave a soft smile to Dagda, glad he'd be along for the trip. In the rogue lands, every protection they could get was a help. And since none of them were exactly SMALL....she doubted many creatures would be willing to even send an unfriendly glance their way.
She laughed softly and reached a paw up to pat Chincha's cheek. "Because you should know both sides of your heritage. The yin and the yang." It took female and male to create life, after all. "All will be well. Your blood-father is a kind lion." With the addition of Feid, the little group was all together now. "Now, my loves, before we go, there are things you must know. And if you have questions, ask them now." She took a deep breath. "The rogue lands, as you might remember, are far different from our misty home. It can get hot, and dry. But I will make sure we are never far from water. And there will be those who mean you ill. Never stray far from the group, my dears. Not until we reach the land of your father."

[Sorry if this is out of turn]
He sighed, his tail flicking agitatedly. He knew momma was right. He loved her after all, and she was always right. He looked into her blue eyes and smiled, a smile just for her. He could be grumpy at the world and still smile at her.
"Okay momma.. If you say so."
He looked at his siblings, and wanted to run off and play instead of go on a long trip.
"I have a question.. Why cant we ask questions while actually on the journey?" Now he knew it sounded like a stupid question.. One meant as a joke, but he was all too serious.
