The day was young as Kriggertarpok glanced Raven-Blue's way. Her lips upturned into a smile at the sight of her snoozing mate. He looked so innocent when he slept... Keeping her head and tail low, she snuck quietly from his view, headed in the direction of the main packlands, determined to meet a few others. Perhaps the alpha, to announce that she'd been living in Agua Azul for the past few weeks. Raven had said that the pack was large and prosperous, too large for the alphas to welcome each individual to Agua Azul. They would rather have as many wolves join with open paws, and run the bad ones out later. Krigger wouldn't be bad.
Seeing her parents again had freed any guilt that she had once felt. She was able to tell them the truth, why she had left and why she hadn't returned to stay. Krigger felt certain that she could live without her family more than Raven could live without his and, determined to stay with him like she promised, she had bid Akko and Chronos a fond farewell and promised her sister Siora that she would visit...someday.
As she ranged out of Raven's area, she moved into a lope, liking the free and easy pace she set for herself. Yes, today she would meet someone special.
---
The sun was high in the sky, the clouds having dissappeared long ago as the morning had given way to afternoon. The air smelled clean today, the pine scent ever present. She loved the smell of a new day..Even if she couldn't really understand the way everything worked.
The maroon female stalked through the grasses, though keeping close to her den that she shared with her pups and her mate. She would never wander too far.. That could mean death. She'd lived a peaceful existence when she had lived as a reclusive away from the wondering eye.
Now she had to watch her back, for the fear of being in such a large mass of wolves living in one area.. No matter how big the area seemed to be expanding.
The fluffed female had filled out in frame. Her muscles lean and worked. She ate her fill daily now, her body seeming to look healthier, and her pelt becoming more luxurious with each day.
But the truly demented female did not notice any of it. No, she was too busy grabbing beetles from the earth and using her teeth oh so gently, to rip the wings off the creatures.
She had been feeling a dark streak lately..and though the Raven asked her to use it on her family, she refused..in turn, she began to hurt other things.
They were beneath wolves anyway right?
She released the beetle once she had her fill, the joy leaving her eyes as she began to stalk once more through the grass. The beetle left for dead, and sure to die after.
It was only a new day, and who knew what it would bring.
---
Krigger first saw her, a shimmer of auburn against the trees. Her heart sped up, all of a sudden nervous to present herself to this new packwolf. Raven's packmate, more than likely, as he'd been born into Agua Azul. She crept closer, head tilted to one side as she watched, curious, to what the female was doing. She was...ripping the wings off of beetles and stalking them as they walked their final walk into the afterlife. Krigger was...shocked. Surprised. Not horrified, but definitely surprised. Surprised enough to let out a soft huff of disagreement.
s**t. Her ears immediately flattened against her head and she dropped to the ground. Never anger a violent wolf. Who knew what she did to other wolves...let alone the poor beetles. Body huddled against the earth, she waited for the auburn femme to find her.
---
She had been too busy with her efforts, her eyes keeping to themselves as her thoughts roamed inside her mind. But that soft noise was enough for her mind to be alerted that something was there. Her ears perked, blue eyes gleaming as she gazed outward. She lifted her muzzle, nose scenting the air around her, and when she caught the scent, she sneezed a bit, shaking her head. Once recovered from the sneeze, she was walking closer to the hiding spot of the female.
She did not stalk the noise, her walk was more of a sway. The female was entirely sexual, always needing Idogbe around, and her strut proving how open she seemed to be.. But she was Idogbe's only, and would always be... If another male didnt catch her away from him..
She wasnt sure she had the mental capability to care if another male tried to stake a claim.. Though in her deep dark heart, she loved Idogbe, her seer mate.. He could not read her mind, not like her could others.. Her thoughts were more images. She didn't thing in words.. She really didn't need to.
"Come out, Come out. No good 'iding.. Ya know I will find you." She cooed, her voice singsong like, as if she was humming the words to a jaunty tune.
She wasnt a harmful female, but she had a knack for being intimidating.
---
Krigger forced back a whine. Oh, what had she gotten herself into? Taking a deep breath, she frantically gazed around. What if this was the alpha? She watched the she-wolf's strut, so full of power and grace and beauty. Nothing like her own four-step simpleton walking. She briefly wondered if she could learn to strut like that; would it impress Raven? Did she need to impress Raven? She frowned, then, finding no way out, stood up and peered out of the brush, right into the stranger's open blue gaze. "H...Hello..." she murmured meekly, ears still back and tail tucked. One paw was raised in front of her, a gesture that meant, in Krigger-language, 'please don't eat me'.
---
Eating the she-wolf was the last thing on the mind of Amary. She had never had a taste for wolf meat, and she refused to even attempt it further. This female, smelled familiar though.. She must have been one of the new members in Agua..The ones Idogbe had been telling her about.
She couldnt remember why she was here though..She couldnt remember where she had come from, or what her name was.
She hadnt really had a reason to care, and it had not been locked away in the vault of her mind. Instead it had been a fleeting memory that breezed in one ear and out the other. She preferred to listen to what the Raven had to say anyways.. The Raven was always forseeing things for her.. It was so helpful, she found listening to him was much more interesting and a better way to spend her day.
"Why hello, dearie." She cooed, her smile widening on her features. She did look truly crazy, though she sat, curling her tail around her body to keep herself from loking as if she was stalking the other she-wolf.
"Don't believe the raven ever said anything about you.. Nope I think I would remember, he would have ranted and raved about how your clockwork pelt could turn the clocks of time."
She bantered, not really making much sense.
---
Krigger, upon realizing that the stranger wasn't going to ravage her and devour her flesh, she relaxed visibly. A smile peeked onto her face as she watched the odd wolf be...well...odd. Her tail gave a brief wag, though her heart was hammering in her chest as the stranger said she smelled familiar. Could she smell Raven on her?
"The...Raven?" Did she mean -her- Raven? Or... a bird? A talking bird? Wolves of Telk had familiars, sure, did she mean a familiar? She smiled. "I'm Krigger. I'm from...Broken Shore..." She said this last bit a bit hesitantly, then forged onwards. "But I'm looking to join your pack."
---
She watched the female move, carefully. Her eyes catching every movement Krigger made. She couldn't afford to get sloppy..This wolf hadnt herself a friend.. But Amary's ears did perk when Krigg spoke to her.
"The raven.. The one who tells me everything I need to know." She did not add anything about her son, as her children very rarely were the first things on her mind. But she caught something of a familiar gaze in the females eyes at the word, and she gave a wry smile.
Inquisitive wolf she was, she was going to find out why she was here.
"Oh really? The mass of death and despair. Carnage that is so full of lies that it could drown in the blood of the ones its killed?" She asked, speaking of the pack and cocking her head. She knew Agua Azul to be everything she had just described. Even with the new heir being announced as Shezaam, she still had yet to care for a change.
So long as she was safe, she didn't care.
"Why would you join death willingly?"
She asked, raising an eyebrow.
---
Krigger felt her blue eyes on her, watching her, forever curious. It almost made the young female uneasy. But she had often seen Raven-Blue staring at her the same way and was...accustomed to the look. She offered a smile at the talk of 'the raven'. Had to've been a familiar. Had to've been. She nodded, never once guessing that this strange wolf was Raven's mother.
The she-wolf's description of Agua Azul, however...
Krigs blinked, unsure of where to go from there. Death? Despair? The pack didn't -seem- too bad? Her ears flattened back against her head. "Is it truly so unsafe here?" she breathed out, believing the estranged wolf. "My...mate... He lives here... He would surely want me to stay with him..." But Broken Shore... It was so peaceful there. What if this wolf was right? What if this pack was bad... Did Raven know? Her heart felt like ice.
---
She watched the gamma's ears flick back, and worry filled her expression. She was following her mate eh? Amary did her best to think of why that was familiar...Hadnt one of her children recently arrived home bringing someone new? She couldnt remember.. the pup had carried its new prize away..Away like the feathered wings carried a bird.. She didn't even have time to put her judgement on the other.
Now if only she could remember who it was.
She was deep in thought when the female spoke, and she lifted her head, as if she had just refocused on Krigger.
"The sky tells me one day the she-wolf shall fall, and all will be well.. But until the Twister is gone, life will remain the way it is. Death. Despair. Do you like being brainwashed? Beware the twister devil. Caution from her, will keep the rivers flowing."
She nodded, meaning the blood within Krigs veins as the flowing rivers.
"Your mate? I have a mate."
She randomly muttered.
---
Krigger nodded solemnly. Twister. She would stray from that wolf's path, then. "I don't like being brainwashed," she admitted cautiously. No, brainwashing just wouldn't do. What if she forgot Raven-Blue completely? The idea scared her and she tucked her tail. Was Twister destined to die, then, if she was destined to fall? She frowned, but the wolf's words made her smile again at the rapid change of subject. "What's your mate like?" she asked.
---
Amaranth may have been a downer, but she wasnt intentionally. She really couldnt stay on one subject long enough to be intentionally dramatic. She flicked her tail, and thought about the females questions.
Well she supposed her mate was like anyone else's. She loved him, and he loved her, and they had had puppies.. Thats all she thought mates were really..for. She wasnt sure she knew what love was, but she did love him..
"Hes blue.. Hes rather big, and lightening flashes along his eyes..." She replied, thinking of his bright orange lightening bolts.. Of course, even now her mind was fuzzy and really couldnt see him clearly..She was always forgetting.
---
Big and blue. She grinned. "He sounds like my mate...without the lightning, of course!" No, Raven was perfect in his shiny blue pelt with the mahogany saddle and the muzzle dipped in the color of the sky. She smiled. Someday, when they were older and ready, they would have the most beautiful of babies...
"I...never caught your name," she admitted softly, tail wagging at the tip.
---
She smiled, her tail wagging as she went to speak once more. She went to give her name, as she could remember it right now and that was a feat.
Her mouth opened, and then she was interrupted.
---
"What's going on?" Came the voice. It was demanding.. Strong.. Harsh. He was obviously not a happy wolf when he noticed his mate talking with his mother. His mother was not the type to be around someone he loved without supervision. She was nuts. More than nuts, and she was unstable. She could change at the drop of a hat.
Instantly the normally submissive male braced himself and stalked out of the treeline, into the grassy area that his mate and mother were chatting. He stood between Amary and Kriggs, as if that was the most natural place for him.
"You shouldnt speak to her without me around.." He said to his mate, and then he looked to his mother.
"What have you been ranting about, mother dearest." He said, eyes careful.
---
Krigger's ears pricked up, listening to the strange wolf, awaiting to hear her name. Then her mate's voice burned into her ears, and they flattened for the briefest moment. She stood, moving to greet him, but she paused when she caught sight of the look in his eye. That look made her feel guilt, it made her lower her head and squeak out a 'sorry'. But...why shouldn't she speak to this wolf? What was she...?
His mother. Of course... Her pelt was exactly the same color as the markings along Raven's saddle. It made sense... Perhaps his mother was the reason he hid some things from her. She offered him a smile, moving to sit beside him, tail wagging. "She was just telling me about the raven. And she was -about- to give me her name when you interrupted!" she barked, though it held no hostility, only amusement.
