Duremites,
Since I'm a curious person I'd like to see what kind of idea's all of our soldiers, capo's and even our boss have to design a page.
everyone has their own view on how a guild homepage should look like.
some find it important to slam their rules down peoples throats there, I find it better to leave those out and stick those in an announcement topic.
some want it covered in images, logo's, banners, links to the guild, etc.
I find that to be crap, a single image should do.
so, share your idea's on what you find importand and what not. who knows, those of you planning to actually enter the contest might get idea's from here. wink
in my next post I shall make a sample of which I think is good enough for a page. I will not enter it but if people get idea's based on what I made then feel free to use them.
the image I slammed in is taken from our Bosses profile, I find that the boss should get a piece of art of him infront of a Durem flag and put that instead of the image so it's just a filler. the same as it being just a sample image.
edit: it looks better as an actual guild page then in a post since posts gets streched out more wink

 Greetings Visitor,
you have stumbled upon the magnificient Durem Mobsters. We are the biggest gang Durem has produced during the past years, finally united under one flag.
We are currently looking for troops who are willing to admit their pride for Durem and to join our gang for now to talk about the past and to join us to make sure Durem beats the rest of Gaia in every possible event.
To keep our gang active we are divided in different Caporegimes, each regime under it's own highly selected Capo. A capo is a leader of a caporegime. each caporegime exists of one capo, a co-capo who helps out the capo and a small group of soldiers who are under the command of the capo.
the goal of a caporegime is to be better in the events then the other caporegimes, this way events become more interesting since you're competing against the other camps aswell as against your own allies.
for an example we shall refer to the camp wars (2K9) where there were four different camps, We as Durem Mobsters were in the Juvie camp. our mission, to beat more opponents of other camps then the other caporegimes. it kept the event more entertaining, our top killers were both close to 80kills (80 screenshots of the kills, they might've taken down more).
Interested in joinin the Durem Mobsters? feel free to apply, you will start as either a soldier (Last in ranking; looks over thread and keeps it going; can keep a white/black list and forward any thread problems to higher ranks; spies on other camps and forwards info receive to Caporegime; can recruit Associates) or an assosiate (Are groupies/fans of The Durem Mobsters and/or Durem characters; artists of banners, badges, avi art, or whatever else for The Durem Mobsters; donators; white listers; bumpers)

That's pretty nifty looking Br@!n. Simple and clean, yet straight to the point. Though I know this isn't an entry, I do hope that others will see this and spark ideas off your example, especially if they're having a brain fart on where to start.
I'm really interested in seeing what other ideas Underbosses, Capos, Soldiers, and Associates will put forth in this contest. None the less, I can't wait ^(^.^)^
Also, Br@!n, thank you for posting this thread. I was going to make it, until I noticed I had 45 mins left to get to campus and get a new ID card, a bus pass, and my books before everything closed for the day XD Again, thank you =3

I simply don't enter the contest because I don't want to win prizes and therefor don't feel like paying the entry fee either ^_^

true, it's important that they know the rules but only when they have actually entered or are about to enter.
so it might be good for the leading ones under us to put the rules in the welcoming message, which in my case came from our Boss himself.
That way outsiders who want to know how we work (for example: a fraction that dares to oppose us) have no knowledge of the rules which we are bound by.

it's no entry. it's a sample which I made for people to get idea's from and to get a discussion going on what people find important to see on the homepage and what not.
to me that is how a homepage should be.
it has a basic introduction of who we are and what we do.
it shows that even inside our organization we have dividers into groups which we compete against while we are still one organization to the outside.
and it has more basic stuff which I think is good to have there without revealing to much
..then it simply hasn't ended yet

Hrmmm, I don't know. Participation in this contest looks a bit bleak don't cha think? X3 Is it because some people lack confidence in their coding skills or is it they have coding skills and lack confidence in their artistry?
Remember: it doesn't have to be 100% on you. You can ask for help! Just give credit to people where it's due and possibly even give them a portion of the prize too if you do win; it'd be the nicer thing to do =P

and ofcourse the size one a bit more then once to make a difference in the regular text and the text explaining what a soldier and an assosiate are.
