Liam greeted his coworkers as he came in through the back door half an hour before the club opened. The man deposited his personal items in a locker in the back room and retrieved his apron. The black cloth was tied about his waist as he headed out into the club and took up his spot behind the bar. Then his long, blond hair was tied back so it would not get in his way (or in anyone's drinks) while he was working. By that time it was only twenty minutes until the club opened. Just enough time to wipe down the bar and make sure that everything was in place before the doors opened and the first customers started coming in.
It had been a long week for Liam, and now, on Friday night, he wondered if it had been so for anyone else. He enjoyed his current job as a bartender because he was able to meet so many people, and Liam loved to meet people. Perhaps it was a subconscious desire to meet that one person whose face lingered in memories just outside his grasp. A lot of what Liam did was prompted by those ephemeral memories.
Like his dream to be famous. Maybe if the whole world knew his face some one would recognize it from their dreams. Liam was certain he would recognize his past lover if he saw him face to face. But would that soul recognize him?

Mikoto sighed deeply and tiredly as he sat back from his latest writer's block. He'd been asked to write a script for a troupe that was training its off-stage actors. So, he was trying to create somethign that held a challenge, but not so tough they couldn't handle it. Also, the story, it bugged him a bit. The story he'd written random;y, it haunted both him and his dreams. It brought out a desire to be around people and go out into the world, and that scared him.
After spending half an hour mulling over it, he shoved the papers into a folder and then headed out. Even though every brain cell of his screamed for him to stay at home, his body was urging him somewhere. But where?
"Well, maybe a change of scenery will spark some creativity..." He muttered to himself.
His feet brought him to the doorstep of a downtown club. Normally, he avoided places like these for they were noisy and crowded. Two features he avoided like the plague. And yet, he felt as if he would find the key to his writer's block inside. So, mustering up his patience, he went inside. Quickly, he spotted a secluded place where he could work in piece. But, the moment he sat down, many eyes were focused on him. Several people came over to him and he sighed heavily before putting on a fake, charismatic smile.

As the people began to steam in through the doors Liam got to work. Drink orders were taken, mixed, shaken, stirred, and poured, then set on the bar in front of the proper person. He had a few chats, enough to tell him that the week had been just as long for everyone else as it had been for him. That was a comforting thought.
The club quickly became crowded at both the bar and on the dance floor. If Liam did not have years of experience he would not have been able to keep up with the demand all by himself. It had certainly been overwhelming for the first few nights he had been on his own.

After some time of being fawned over, Mikoto managed to escape by giving a lame excuse. After making sure they lost sight of him in the crowd, he saw at the bar and took a breath of relief. Up there, he hoped not to get crowded too much. Contemplating to himself, he decided one drink wouldn't hurt him.
"Bartender, do you serve Queen Elizabeth wine?"
{It really exists.}

"A Queen Elizabeth?" Liam asked. That was not an order he had received before. Tracing back through his memories and the hundreds of recipes stored in the back of his head, the bartender attempted to locate that particular one while he finished the drink he was working on.
"Yeah, I think I can make you one," the blond assured, and immediately turned to grab the ingredients. It might not be the best Queen Elizabeth Wine ever mixed, but he would put up his best effort.
When the drink was done, and poured out into a cocktail glass, Liam turned to set it on the bar in front of the man who had ordered. "There you go," he said, and his eyes lifted up to see the man's face for the first time. For a moment he could not move. He knew that face; but how? "Wow... Deja vous," the bartender murmured, shaking his head a bit.
(I looked it up. Somewhat surprised to find it's not really a wine at all.)

{Yeah. The only reason I knew of it was cuz of a game: Persona3FES.}
Mikoto had waited patiently for the bartender to provide his drink. Once it arrived, he looked up to thank him and was startled by the man's face. It felt so familiar and yet...why did seeing it fill him with both joy and dread? He took his drink and sipped it. It wasn't a perfect mix, and yet...it seemed to fit his tastes perfectly.
"Hm..."

When Liam felt deja vous, he knew it was rarely just a feeling. Was this the one? The man from his dreams? The one he had been waiting for? Liam had thought it would be much more clear than this. And there was no sign of recognition back from the other man.
He wanted to stay, ask the man a question or two, but he was already being called away by another customer. Oh, why did it have to be such a busy night? As he went off down the bar to take and mix the next order, Liam's eyes kept drifting to the man. The feeling that he knew him would not go away. It had to be more than just deja vous.

Without showing it on his face, he could feel the's eyes on him. A sense he picked up out of happenings. Normally, such a thing irritated him. But with this person, it felt...right? Was that it? He furrowed his brow at the thought.
He knew not how much time had passed, but he realized his glass was empty. So he hailed the bartender for a refill.

Liam was secretly elated when the man called for him again. This time he would not be so dumbfounded he could not say anything. This time he would try and see if the man was having the same feeling he had. "The same?" the bartender asked as he headed over to the man again.
He wanted to ask the man his name, to see if that would spark any further recognition. His entire adult life had been spent in search of answers about his past life, and particularly in search of one man. He had to know if this was him.

"Yes, the same." Mikoto replied. Part of him wanted to look up at the other's face. Another part wanted to ignore him entirely. He silently debated the outcomes in his head like one of his plays.
Then, unexpectedly, a name came to mind. The name which had been omitted in both his dreams and writing. Immediately, the name was whispered from his lips. The name which held as much intimacy as grief. "Laeglas..." His eyes widened slightly as he realized it was spoken aloud. Hesistantly, he glanced upward through long eyelashes at the bartender before him.

Liam froze. Though the name had been only whispered he had heard it because he recognized it. Shakily, the bartender set down the bottle he had been pouring to make the man's drink, and looked up with wide eyes to meet the other man's gaze. His heart was thundering in his chest.
"How... How do you know that name?" Liam stammered. No one knew the details of his past life except his therapist. Not even his parents knew about it. But that was his name, something he had never told anyone.

Mikoto was shocked as well. The name was familiar to the bartender!? So, he was just halucinating things.
"How...How do you know that name? He heard the other stammer. He frowned as he thought of a suitable explanation. But then his mind produced another unfamiliar name which threw him for a whorl. "...Aiden?" He stood up and paid for his drink immediately.
"I-I need to leave..." He walked away from the counter very fast. This was too familiar, it scared him. This was out of his range. 'Why?' He wonderd. 'Why did I even bother to leave my house!?'

'Aiden.' The name struck through Liam's heart like an arrow. He recognized it for what it was easier than he had recognized the man's face. That was a name that had always lingered just beyond his grasp, always on the tip of the tongue. Now he was reminded, and he knew.
This was the man he had been looking for his entire life. And he was running away.
No, no, he could not run away. Not when Liam had just found him. "Just a minute," the bartender said to a man who tried to order, and ran from the bar into the back room. "Ryan!" he called to his supervisor, whom he knew would be back there. "Ryan, I'm going on my break!" Liam did not wait for a response, he was already untying his apron and running out the door after the other man.

Mikoto stood at the crossroads, waiting for the light to change so he could cross and hurry on to the subway. From there, he planeed to ride straight home. No distractions of the sort would distract him.
"That bartender, why is he the one from my story AND dreams!? This is definitely not fiction! Therefore, it's too dangerous!"
But deep inside, he felt as if this wasn't one of those dangerous situations. He wanted to see that bartender again, but why? Why did just the thought of it bring him both happiness and dispair?

Liam burst out of the back door of the club and looked up and down the street, his eyes searching out the other man. It could not end like this, he would not let it.
There he was! "Wait!" Liam called as he started down the street toward the corner where he had spotted the man. He prayed that the other would not run away further; Liam might never see him again if he did. "Please! Let me talk to you for a moment."
