Hey whether you are a free lancer like me in this style of a normal practicioner thats in grupos we all have new things to learn and success stories on concepts new techniques and so on.
I may not be here all the time but if youve learned somethin new post it XD!
Me Im finally getting the hang on my handstands a little I usually do 10 a day (technically it ranges from 25 and 40 cause If I mess up i usually try again up to 4 or five times before I hit another number). I finally starting to get some good hang time and controll on them. When I mess up and fall to the ground I have enough control to do some little to painless safe falls. XD one small step for me, a little at a time as I usually say.

In late May 2005, I learned, at my Batizado, to never sell yourself short. As long as you try your hardest, you'll always be rewarded, maybe even hugely, sometime down the road.
How did I learn this?
Quite simple. May 2005 was the time of our new group's first Batizado. Even though I now have almost 6 years of experience in Capoeira, there was a while when there was no group, here, and I wasn't doing much Capoeira at all. So when the new group came along, I was out of shape and out of practice. It took me a while to get back into the swing of things. So when the Batizado came about, I was positive I would only get the first corda (light green). But to my suprise, I was bumped up a whole four positions, to the yellow and light blue corda! Now I'm only two positions away from being allowed to teach with supervision, and only four positions away from being allowed to open my own branch.
Never sell yourself short! Try your hardest all the time, and you'll be rewarded in good time!

Well, tonight was my first time playing Capoeira. My group is really nice; everyone is open and fun. I learned the basic kicks and the moves (ginga?). I played like three people ( you have to play atleast 2 on your first night). It was fun, but I so need to practice. My handstands are actually okay, I just need to build of strength; I can take a few steps with my hands though. I had a great time and I'm going to stick with it. Apparently next weekend we're going down town to play! xd

AxeFalador This past Wednesday was a milestone for me. I finally successfully strung my own Berimbau! All by myself! biggrin Isn't it a b***h? My verga is particularly stiff, so it takes a ton of effort (and occasionaly some blood) to get it bent properly.

Well, I met Mestre Acordeon, Mestre Jamaika, and Mestre Canguru at my Batizado. I also got my first corda (the light green one) and I'd only started three weeks before the Batizado. My Batizado was October 6th, 7th, and 8th and I'm in Grupo Esporao. My teachers are Profesor Ubaldo and Mestre Marinaldo.

Haha! Pun definitely intended! ;D
