CollinCollin Revington is a twenty-five year old young man trying to make his way in the music business and predictably struggling at it. He has steady enough work to pay the bills and buy food by playing at local Barton pubs and restaurants with patios. Still, Collin often finds himself playing on the streets on his days off for extra cash as well as extra exposure. He plays the piano and violin very well and can sing tolerably but not enough to get him very far as a singer. Collin is still young and hopeful enough to dream of making it big while grounded and experienced enough to know that his chances are slim. For the most part Collin is just happy to be able to make a living doing what he loves.
Collin is a mostly calm and laid back sort of person who likes to joke that his music is far more animated than he'll ever be. Family has always been important to Collin and directs much of his life. He grew up practically next door to his cousin Nell whom he now shares a house with for several reasons. It was his mother that taught Collin to play as a young child as well as to love the music itself. Though he still loves the music and that is mainly why he plays, it is mostly out of love for is his mother that Collin continues to try to become someone famous. It is easy to say that much of Collin’s ambition and the decisions he makes are routed in what he thinks will make those he cares for happiest; as long as he has music Collin himself is happy.
NellNell Revington is a twenty- four year old young woman who is a struggling songwriter and currently a waitress in a small Barton cafe. Nell keeps track of the household finances and plans their weekly and monthly budgets; she is the more responsible and grounded of the pair. A middle child Nell craves attention even as an adult and is usually quick to start a conversation or jump into one if at all possible. She's the lively sort who's always got something to say and though she may tease and taunt you there's softness in her eyes that lets you know it's all in good fun.
Beyond songwriting Nell tries to expand her passion for creativity into as many other areas as she’s competent in. She wants very badly to have some sort of legacy, something in life to be remembered by and the things she makes are all attempts at gaining that legacy. There’s an insecurity in Nell, a fear that she is ignorable and it’s easy to see she’s a woman working very hard to be someone who stands out.
